Which Watford players should FPL managers consider in 2019/20?

It’s as you were for Watford going into the start of the 2019/20 campaign.

At the time of writing and with just 24 hours before the transfer window closes, the Hornets had made only two first-team signings this summer – one of them Danny Welbeck.

Centre-half Craig Dawson (£5.0m) has arrived from West Bromwich Albion and he was the only player not on the books in 2018/19 who was involved in Watford’s final pre-season friendly against Real Sociedad last weekend.

Javi Gracia’s side are also set to be lining up in their familiar 4-2-2-2/4-4-2 shape, with the Watford boss having briefly experimented with a three-man backline in their penultimate friendly against QPR.

    If spurs get sessegnon, Lo Celso and Fernandes then they are back in the big time. All good for Kane as well as he will be able to fire the bullets these guys will supply.

    Having said that the way FF value new players none of us will be able to afford them!

          You haven't seen the mighty AFC Wimbledon play then mate. In all seriousness though, I'm not sure what Sessegnon has ever done, he didn't look particularly exciting last year at Fulham and it's the right side that needs sorting more than the left assuming Danny Rose finds some form again.

    The one player that is really bugging me is Vardy. Part of me thinks he should be nailed in my team given Leicester's attacking intent and hopefully improved service. The other part of me thinks the more sensible choice is Perez given his price, oop, and potential to coattail Vardy for a 1.5m saving. I'm thinking it's possibly too many eggs in one basket getting both. What is people's take on the Vardy situ?

          Removing as many of my biases as possible, he's fairly "fixture proof" although of course he does better against poorer teams, good opening 4 fixtures for goals, without injury he's nailed for 20+ goals and 5+ assists this season under Rodgers.

          I like Perez, he'll play as a virtual SS, BUT he's always been inconsistent and will still essentially function as a complimentary player to Vardy from what I've seen. Will probably own him later on after those 3 hard fixtures GW 5-8.

      I like it, only thing is Barkley is a bit too expensive for the bench l, maybe downgrade to someone like Dendoncker and get Siggy in for Zaha. Zaha wants to leave so may not play to the max

      Like this, but I will look at Heaton/Pope + Walker over Ederson + 4.5 defender.

      Walker may lose his place, but I’m hopeful there will be some 6.0 (or cheaper) nailed option in City’s backline. I think the 10.5 spent thusly will outscore Ederson + a 4.5 def.

      Moura could smash GW1, but I’m troubled by picking a player for one week to start the season. Might go for Martial.

          It’s possible to get caught out in the match in which a defender is dropped and miss a clean sheet. Hopefully the bench helps in that scenario. And if the defender no longer looks first choice, you use a FT to get one who is. Broader point is, historically, it’s been easier to pick a 4.5 GK and 6.0 defender who will outscore a 6.0 keeper and 4.5 defender.
