Why are Liverpool yet to keep a clean sheet in 2019/20?

Owners of Liverpool defenders are becoming increasingly concerned with their defensive potential this season.

After keeping 21 clean sheets last season, Jurgen Klopp’s men are yet to record one in 2019/20.

Liverpool have already conceded to Norwich at Anfield as well as against Southampton in Gameweek 2.

With many Fantasy managers still doubled-up at the back for the Reds, we have taken another look at the data to see what we can learn.

The aim is to discover whether or not Liverpool have been unfortunate not to keep a clean sheet yet or if there are serious issues at the back for them.

As this article uses data from the Fantasy Football Scout Members Area, only those who have signed up for the 2019/20 season can access it in full.

How did Liverpool’s defence do in Gameweek 2?

    A) Mount and 4.5 rotating defender
    B) Dendonker/Cantwell and Digne

Reason I asked is I regrettably played my WC last night so now going all out! Team is

    Adrian
    Zinchenko Soyuncu Pieters Lundstram Kelly
    Mane Sterling KDB Mount Martial
    Kane Pukki

Just unsure on whether defence is too weak.

What you going to do once Allison is back?

Your defence not going to last either and will be difficult to fix without WC.

It is becoming quite clear that having Kane and 3 big hitters in midfield is like approaching a dead end.

using an ft to change adrian in like 6 weeks time is not a big deal

Using an FT to fix a Gk is one thing.

Needing another WC when you do not have one to fix your defence in 6 weeks is another thing.

Change Adrian to Ryan. You don’t need your defence to last weeks. You can upgrade it with 2/3 transfers every 2 weeks as required. Like it!

Better options than Pieters - not sure he’s nailed with Taylor back

If on WC would much prefer a Liverpool defender cause of attacking returns and bonus points rather than relying on Adrian CS

    1 FT, 2.5 ITB

    Pope
    VvD Digne Zinchenko Soyuncu
    Zaha* KdB Salah Sigurdsson
    Jimenez* Wilson*
    Heaton Diop Stephens Greenwood

    A) Zaha -> Son
    B) Jimenez + Wilson -> Pukki + Kane (-4)
    C) Zaha + Jimenez/Wilson -> Martial/Pogba + Rashford (-4)

Thoughts on these options? Thanks in advance

Do not triple up on UTD. DON'T.

I would rather double up on their defence at this point but have mentioned before I would stay away from any of their assets, especially based on last season. Just my opinion though.

If I had no other choices I would double on AWB and De Gea.

I agree with this advice. United look much better at the back than going forward.Only Pool and City are worth tripling up.

Same positing and I am not moving. Whatever it costs I will persist with these two guys. They have everything you need to explode one day (no matter of the price)

Bit of a disappointing current rank of around 450k, and like 88 in country league. Thought I might manage a better start than that, but captaincy and punt options haven’t worked out so far.

Trying not to knee jerk too much though (though my one transfer so far has been to jump on the Pukki train), and remembering one GW can change everything - managed to go 800k to under 50k in one week GW5 last season (mainly courtesy to faith in a certain flagged Ryan Fraser).

How’s everyone else feeling so far?

I’m at 170k, it’s disappointing as I thought I had done well but you have to remember a lot of people have already triple captained

This article is taking the stat approach to explain the ministry of the bleeding obvious if you have watched any of Liverpool's three games so far - We look very very frail without the spine at the back that is Ali

I am absolutely confused and my inexperience is showing but do I need a severe surgery (wildcard)

    Ryan
    Robertson VVD Wan Bissaka Zinchenko
    Salah sterling Fraser Peres
    Rashford king

Bench - dendockner, Kelly and greenwood

5 of my 11 players look like are going through a bad patch. Need help.

    Wildcard button smashed.
My team wasn't bad but the Lpool double up just didn't offer as much flexibility as I anticipated.

    320k OR
A few mistakes with initial squad
Didn't like the double Lpool def
    Cathcart over Lunny a mistake
    Pukki looks a threat
    AWB sweating BPS
    Wanted KDB
Needed to reset my team structure to have a 9.5 place holder
Just would have taken weeks to sort that out.
I've also bought myself time to decide if I want Son or Kane or to wait for Son to come back and then move to him.

    Onwards an upwards.

    Good luck all.

We had a very short pre-season with a lot of important players returning late due to international commitments. The defensive machine will click back into gear. Klopp is known to put his players through an arduous pre-season that is hard on their legs initially but stands them in good stead over the whole season. Also, even though it is absolutely logical xG numbers don't always tell you the complete story.

Is this good to go please,

    Pope
    Maguire KWP Soyuncu
    Mane Sterling Martial Trossard
    Pukki Barnes Kane

Thinking Barnes Trossard to DeBruyne and 4.5 FWD

    Thanks

IF Kun plays midweek, how’s this mini WC look for a -8!!

    Kun+C.Wilson+Maddison+Dendo >>>>
    Vardy+Greenwood+Perez/Yarmo/Sterling?

    Pope
    TAA • Lunds • Tomori
    KDB • Mount • Mané • Maddison
    Kun • Tammy • Wilson
