Our second of three Members’ articles this week revisits last weekend’s fixtures and plunders the Gameweek filtered Opta stats currently available on our test server. This new set of tools, which we hope to be opening up for a Beta test next week, allows the analysis of statistics not only over a specific Gameweek but also a range of Gameweeks.

We took a look at some of last weekend’s top performers to offer you further analysis and to highlight some of the information that Members will be able to discover and examine for themselves very soon…

Thing I'm really pissed off at is that Russia were the only bid who blatantly slagged off other bids....

  I'm disappointed but not in the least bit surprised that England didn't get it. It wouldn't have mattered if a bunch of Russian/Spanish/Dutch peasants had turned up this morning with a flip-chart and made their presentations up on the spot - we still wouldn't have got it. England is a deeply unpopular nation, particularly with FIFA. The fact we came 4th from 4 says it all.

      I don't even begrudge Russia the World Cup - I'm sure they'll make a good job of it and to be honest I think it's only fair they're given a chance. Just disappointing that we won't have it here, and mildly annoying that the media not only made out we had a chance, but in certain cases made out we were favourites. It was never going to happen!

I can't understand why the BBC are covering it all as though they're outside observers when they involved themselves so massively and so negatively just three days ago with Panorama.

What on Earth were they thinking of? Did they expect this bunch of corrupt old crooks to say "Oh, well. Never mind about all that. We'll give it to England anyway."

The BBC has sabotaged a strong bid. I hope they'll be held to account now.

As an Aussie living in London I'm very disappointed with the way both bids have gone.

How the eff did Qatar win though? Corruption at its finest that is.

A country of 600,00 people, 50+ degree heat, mythical stadiums.... and alcohol is banned in that country, what a fun holiday that would be.

Naturally I think Australia should have got it, but all the other contenders would have been better hosts.

According to the CIA world fact book, there are less than 900,000 people living in Qatar. Wikipedia has the local population (citizens) at about 300,000. Most of the balance are foreign contract workers working from economically ditressed countries. Ratio of men to women is something like 3.5:1. I know I'm going on but... come on, Qatar?

It’s easy to say that this is a corrupt result but its unlikely.

Blatter is clear- he wants football to improve the lives of people in the host country.

South Africa (Racist, dirt-poor hole)
Russia (Racisct, corruption & murder capital)
Qatar (An empty desert where nobody plays football)

They are nothing places, with no football history but what they have in common is they NEEDED the world cup.

I've no problem with football being to taken to countries that are developing, in football terms But...

The Wikileaks disclosures about the extent of Mafia corruption in Russia is more than a little concerning here.

As I understand it, their stadiums and infrastructure are all to be built between now and 2018. The mind boggles at how much money serious criminals are going to make out of this.

ANyone who thinks his world cup going to rusia is good needs their head examined. Ive talked to a few Russians who are immigrants here in Ireland in a filmschool i go to the odd time, and they are plain scared to open their mouth. Puting is trying to bring back the age of the totalitarian, journos' are killed with alarming regularity.

The grounds are miles apart, the state is corrupt, FIFA is corrupt too, but still, the fact FIFA gave it to them is mind boggling. English football gives more to the world game in terms of entertainment with the premiershio and even the championship, that they deserved it , they havent seen it in nearly 50 years.

Infrastructure, intelligence, the ability to run things, they have it all. Putin is a scum sucking dog, and oligarch after oligarch is only gonna get richer, while the majority of Russians wont see fook all from this.

If youre in doubt as to whether Russia deserves this, do some research on them, ill give you one link to get you started. One thing is for sure, whether the paorama shit was good or bad for the english bid, thre's no way you would have been given the choice to watch it in Mother Russia, thats for damned sure. The STATE CONTROLLED MEDIA, which is 99% of their media, would have smothered it, and the makers, quicker that you can say pupperpresident.

FIFA is a joke. We need a new world order.Im sickened to my gut.

Vile V Birmingham didnt help , crowd trouble a day before the vote.

Qatar is garbage , Reason Aussies didnt win is because of the time difference. TV audiences would of been way down in Europe as matches at three am would only suit you dole bludgers

    I think it might have had a slight effect to be honest, there was much about it in the media everywhere.
    
    If there is one thing England can't afford it's crowd trouble. I'm sure the FIFA voters know better but abroad there are still plenty of people who believe hooliganism and crowd trouble are big problems in England.

  Today's 'vote' was decided weeks ago.
