Scoutcast Episode 318 – Double Gameweek fever

It’s finally here. After weeks of waiting and planning Liverpool’s double Gameweek 24 has arrived.

Ahead of today’s deadline Joe, Pranil (aka Lateriser12) and Az take a look at the best options among Klopp’s troops and who is most deserving of the armband. The triple captaincy chip, the Red’s resilient recent defence and array of attacking options feature prominently in their discussion.

Fresh from his Meet the Manager appearance and rank busting Aguero transfer earlier this month Pranil is once again on top form.

Going above and beyond the Scoutcast cause he leaves Joe and Az stunned after unleashing his eye-test analysis of Liverpool’s recent games and who is most likely to receive his Triple Captaincy backing as a result.

West Ham’s double fixture in Gameweek 24 is not forgotten, with Joe taking his turn to silence his fellow Scoutcasters with news of his planned and unlikely Hammers punt. Naturally he has the dullard statistics to back up this maverick move.

Meanwhile, Marcus Rashford’s long-term injury means there are plenty of community questions to consider regarding alternative striking options.

Rough with the Smooth, clean sheets and Pranil’s turn to pick a differential are also included in this packed double Gameweek special episode.

The crew round off proceedings to reveal their transfer and captaincy decisions.

Mane 146 pts from 1745 Minutes (7.5 points per 90 mins)
Salah 133 pts from 1619 Minutes (7.4 points per 90 mins)

Not much to choose between them.

In fairness, since the blank GW18 Mane has outscored Salah 31 to 29.
        50/50 and I liked Lateriser's spin on it. 😉

That's the thing with stats - they can be cherry-picked for anyone to justify to themselves what they are thinking. On a decision like this that appears to be 50/50 (even with the bookies), it should be an instinct choice.

            Agreed.
Instinct had me on Salah, dragged me over to TAA, now it's whispering Mane.

Getting cold feet, may go Randolph instead as a punt.

    Thoughts here lads and lasses?

    McCarthy
    TAA Soy Rico
    Salah KDB Martial Grealish
    Vardy Ings Maupay

    X Cantwell Kelly Lundy

2fts, 5 mil itb. Debating these:

    A: Rico - > Robbo
    B: Martial - > Mane
C: Rico, Martial -> Robbo, Son

Kind of don't want to lose Martial. Probably. I don't really know. Could also be VVD in place of Robbo.

Not quite! Pretty settled on TC Salah but I need to decide between:

          Robertson & Son: or
          Soyuncu & Mane

Robertson & Son sets my team up much better longer term and it’s upsetting getting Mane in knowing I’ll want him to blank given EO, but no Mane if he hauls will be a potential season ender.

          Any thoughts?!

My only thought is that looks like one of those where you could really end up beating yourself up either way, I wish I could help, I've decided that I'm gonna go with double Liv attack longer term, something else to consider is that if you go without Mane, you're betting on him blanking 4 games in a row.

With Firmino's away form why aren't more people picking him?

His total of seven away goals is more than any Liverpool team-mate this season.
By comparison, Sadio Mane (£12.4m) has scored four away goals, while Mohamed Salah (£12.4m) has only two.
Yet whereas Mane and Salah are owned by 40.7 per cent and 27.7 per cent respectively, Firmino is found in only 13.1 per cent of squads
Away from home, his 31 shots, 26 shots in the box and 14 shots on target are all team-leading totals.

For me he is my Captain for this week, and I own both Mane and Salah.

    GL everyone?

I'm thinking of a cheeky punt of Ings > Haller. Haller has DGW and then Brighton at home, Ings could be rested this week then has Liverpool away.

He is my captain over Salah and Bobby. Can't say I'm so delighted with this double that I'm TCing him, but, hey, knock yourself out.

      Go with your gut
      I’m using it on Firmino
It’s a free chip and no guarantee any of the main city players play both games if they get DGW so perfect time to use it on pool with 6 day break

In order to get Salah in with Mane and TAA as a triple up drop KDB for either Fleck or Noble or Aguero for Calvert Lewin, Deulofeu or Maupey?

Hmmm. The aguero replacements are much better. So probably him

If it involves a hit and you won’t captain salah could just do firmino instead ?
