FFS Cup

The latest FFS Cup fixtures and results

Gameweek 26 will see the finals of both the FFS Members Cup and the FFS Cup take place.

We’ve got the full details of which Fantasy Football Scout users will be taking part below.

FFS CUP

The final of our first 2019/20 FFS Cup will be contested between AMEY and Philman.

The two managers are each ranked between the 20k-30k mark and both played their second Wildcards in Gameweek 25.

AMEY saw off Mataatti, our highest-ranked manager in the FFS Cup semi-finals, by 78 points to 69 at the weekend.

Philman defeated stamfordbridge 72-64 in our other last-four clash.

Mataatti and stamfordbridge will now contest the third/fourth-place play-off in Gameweek 26.

As for AMEY and Philman, there may not be much to separate them in the final.

Ten of their 15-man Wildcard squads were identical, while their team values are exactly the same when money in the bank is factored in (£105.7m).

Philman went slightly bigger at the back, while AMEY has plumped for three sub-£4.5m defenders and gone with Son Heung-min (£10.0m) in midfield.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (£10.8m) and Jamie Vardy (£9.8m) are the big differences up top.

FFS MEMBERS CUP

The final of the 2019/20 FFS Members Cup will be contested by Just-In-Cider and Pep Pig.

Both managers sit inside the top 10k and are separated by just 345 places in FPL.

They come into Gameweek 26’s final off the back of five successive green arrows, having each been outside the top 100,000 at the turn of the year.

The second Wildcards remain intact in both cases, too.

Just-In-Cider beat Becker Call Saul 64-53 in Gameweek 25, with the losing semi-finalist having dropped out of the top 1k in the process.

Pep Pig defeated maxp1907 76-73, meanwhile.

Our two vanquished managers will now contest the third/fourth-place play-off in Gameweek 26.

The two finalists share only six players ahead of this Saturday’s deadline, with Just-In-Cider having considerably more money to play with (£106.4m v £103.8m).

Agree to your point! But I wish to have Aguero for only this week, then a switch to Vardy for his amazing games and no blank in GW28! Will upgrade Hayden down the line, as Fleck will be my 5th mid in future!

Leicester got some alright fixtures coming up, definitely out of sorts atm. Could get in a Burnley cheapie.

Why you not sure about Son? I have always picked him up at the right time, it seems and with his role likely to be central he should be amongst the goals.

It's a tough one as one would expect they both return. I am planning on getting Vardy back for GW 28 so maybe I do just take the punt on Kun now..

If you don't captain Aguero you may as well just start with Vardy and save the FT

Wasn't the intention. I personally would punt on Aguero (c) for WHU and leave him for Leicester game and hope he starts and then go for Vardy

I like the Son punt. Less keen on DCL but his stats are right up there. You won't have a keeper in GW 28 so perhaps go McCarthy and Stevens over Henderson and Holgate

Can I ask who you're donning up top? I'm also not keen on DCL but he is involved and cheap... Jimenez would be ideal but then that voids the Aguero or Son move.

Love the look of Wily Boly for a Lundstram replacement.

No blank in 28 or 31, nailed on, and offers some goal threat as well as good BAPS potential.

Think what I like most about him though is that he's a 'set and forget' option at 4.7. I think you can play Wolves defenders against anybody - they're a quality, well-drilled side and have been posting great underlying defensive stats.

    1. Miguel Sanchez
      • 8 Years
      4 years, 9 months ago

Between him and Doherty for me. I think Boly is easier to forget about and any attacking returns is a bonus. With Doherty, if he doesn't score you begin to wonder where that 1.4 is going over Boly.

Yes, but they hardly ever keep clean sheets.

There is a hope Boly can help improve that side of things, but from what I recall, they didn't keep too many last season either. Think it was around 8 or 9 but would need to check.

Yeah, I seem to remember them recording clean sheets early in the season before tailing off.

SHU defenders are the easy go-to at that price range but their blank puts a spanner in the works.

From the eyetest, Barnes. He likes too shoot in and around the box. And seems to get at the end of through balls and crosses, despite being a winger himself. He has actually pissed me off the last 2-3 matches, scoring goals when Vardy has blanked and missed Vardy assists when Vardy has blanked.

28 will be 4 teams blanking
31 will probably be 10 to 14 teams blanking
34 will probably be 1 or 2 teams blanking, and probably 4 to 6 other teams having a DGW
37 will probably be 8 to 12 teams having a DGW

May be other DGWs (or a TGW) as well.

Many schools of thought when best to WC. I would say if your team is in the shite use it now, otherwise keep your options open and keep hold until more info around the blanks/DGWs is known.

Thanks a lot Jarvish I appreciate it.

My team is fine. Simply looking for a Lundy replacement and wanted to know which fixtures to ‘rule out’ of my consideration. E.g one defenders best fixture might be gw31, but it doesn’t matter as I’ll be free hitting anyway. Somebody might have a horrendous run in from 34 onwards but it wouldn’t matter.

    A) Vardy, Maupay, Martial —> Aguero, Ings, Barnes (-4)
    B) Vardy, Martial —> Ings, Son
    C) Vardy —> Aguero

A would mean I’d have to get another -4 to have a playing 11 in GW28. Would appreciate any input on this. Thanks!

Can someone help me? I think a previous winner of the overall league did it one year with no Man City players as he was a Man Utd fan (I might have got the wrong clubs but I'm sure I remember reading this in a previous article)? It is only relevant as in a mini-league someone is blaming the fact that they refuse to have Mo Salah in is the reason they are no longer winning the league (which to be fair has had quite an impact in the last 2 GWs! 😉
    Thanks all

Two years ago an Everton fan won FPL without owning any Liverpool players.

great thanks - what an achievement. Apologies to any respective fans I may have offended by muddling up the rivalries!

Would you play Dunk the upcoming two games ( WAT, whu ) or take him out for a hit and get Stephens who has Burnley and Villa at home in the next two ?

      Not worth the hit imo

      Burnley will score

    The case for keeping Mane....

...beyond Salah and KDB (who I already have), there really are not many great options in midfield. Son is one, as is possibly Mahrez, Richarlison, or maybe Pérez. But thin pickings. Mane is almost becoming an interesting differential too.

    The case for dropping Mane....

...already have Salah, plus by downgrading him to Son I can upgrade Lundstram to Robbo, or even better by dropping him for a midfielder at 8.5 I can swap Lundstram and DCL for VVD and Jimenez over the next 2 weeks. You have to conclude that VVD, Mahrez and Jimenez are a better trio than Lundstram, Mane and DCL. Likely to be rested next week before a key away CL tie.

Think the conclusion is Mane has to go.

If you still have Mane now you gotta keep him surely imo. Until Klopp starts rotating them in the league we don’t know if he will.

Norwich away is perfect for Origi to play on the left

If you still have Mane don't sell him now, can see him getting at least 60 minutes against Norwich.

My worry with C is the way Newcastle score goals. A has Jimenez to aim for, C plays in a team who score from corners etc.

B for me, better long term options, Brighton with some nasty fixtures soon and Auba 100% nailed.

Wanted to wait for a calmer perspective, but can't leave it much later - does this team need a wildcard in your humble opinion?

I'll certainly do a defender move if not, then probably either Martial to Mahrez or Auba to Aguero (c) for a hit. Risky I appreciate.

    Thoughts on this wildcard team?

    Hendo, McCarthy
    TAA, VVD, Egan, Soy, Lascelles
Salah, KDB, Fernandes (punt), Barnes, Hayden
    Auba, Jimmy, Ings

Unsure on Fernandes as a punt but I’m looking for a differential. And could change Auba/Barnes to Aguero/Mooy.
