FPL relaunches with unlimited transfers for all managers

Fantasy Premier League has re-launched ahead of a return to playing action later this month.

The top-flight of English football will be back on our screens from Wednesday, June 17 and we now have confirmation of how our favourite Fantasy game will follow suit.

The game makers have formally announced the next deadline, at 17:00 BST on June 17, will be for an unprecedented ‘Double Gameweek 30+’ rather than ‘Double Gameweek 39’.

More importantly, it has also been revealed that, between now and the beginning of Double Gameweek 30+, all Fantasy managers will have access to unlimited transfers.

They will be able to make as many changes as they like to their current squads without incurring points penalties, just as is the case at the start of any new season.

This means that, in accordance with FPL rules, the second Wildcard chip will be unavailable for Gameweek 30+. However, anyone wishing to deploy a Bench Boost or Triple Captain will be able to do so. The Free Hit chip is also available for Double Gameweek 30+. If deployed, a manager’s squad would revert to how it was left for Gameweek 38 when Gameweek 31+ arrives.

The second Wildcard can be used from Gameweek 31+ onwards.

Managers may also want to proceed with caution when removing players from their squads compared to unlimited transfers over the pre-season. That is because prices of all Fantasy assets remain the same as they were following the Gameweek 38 deadline on Sunday, May 17.

That means Fantasy managers would lose money if they were to sell a player they made a profit on and subsequently brought him back into their squad.

    This is pathetic. Basically anyone leading their mini-league can now cement victory easily.

    Victory for casuals too AND NOTHING for those of us who spent weeks doing the little mini wildcard in between.

    Maybe you all think this is great, but as someone chasing in a mini-league , this kills it off for me.

      You still have an advantage over those who aren't happy with their team and will need to use the transfers. Sounds like you don't and will be able to FH, whereas they won't

    Errr... so what way does FH work now then in conjunction with unlimited transfers again??

    "After playing your Free Hit chip, at the next deadline your bank balance and squad is restored to as they were at the previous deadline, with any player price changes in the previous gameweek reflected."

    Say if one were to use their unlimited transfers to swap Salah, Martial & DCL for Son, Richarlison & Rashford today... and then activated their FH next Wednesday 17th morning to get a team of DGW'ers...

    Would the post-deadline team contain Salah, Martial & DCL? Or Son, Rashford & Richarlison??

      Your team would go back to what it was in gameweek 38. All transfers you use this gameweek would be cancelled by the free hit whether you’ve confirmed them before activating the chip or not.

      I forgot that earlier in the season and ended up getting Son back when he was suspended!

      It’s a huge dillema but I feel Sterling and Kun alongside KDB offer more excitement than Laporte. He may outscore them but picking an attacking asset gives me more thrills.
      I’m also intending on having Auba in my team, so Laporte would be more of a hedge rather than a ‘sword’

    On BB, I think the first decision to make is which City triple up to go with.

    I'm pretty certain that I will go with Aguero and KDB.

      My point I tried to make above but omitted about meaning for those with all their chips). It's just a sorry state. Should have left as is and let people trade out their teams and take risks etc, it's fun.

      Same as when the VC was introduced, again, another great tool for the casuals who don't check news and delve into the game, get jammy VC's...just thought i'd start that one up again too LOL. Sorry, i'm just not happy with this (FPL) news.

          Downside to that though is would probably have to retain a few SGW players to be able to afford them back on WC. Thinking the likes of TAA, Salah, Mane and Jimi. Granted it may be worth keeping them in that GW anyway but then what is the point of BB, surely the point of that is to pack it with DGW players?

      People without it. Wildcards are usually for the long-term. They have just been given a free WC with less than a quarter of the season to go. So people with WCs are basically being asked to use them twice in 9 GWs and with no DGWs on the horizon.

      Yes a WC is good to have, but if you have lots of chips left, those chips have lost a lot of value compared to the pre-C-19 situation where there were going to be a number of BGWs and DGWs.

    For those with only FH&BB left do you feel like it’s a must to BB this week as will be no other DGWS most likely.

    Problem for me is I like my team from next week as I W/C just pre covid-19 for that DGW so don’t wanna mess it up with FTs now just got BB and be left with a lot of deadwood next week? Any thoughts appreciated

      That’s what I’m doing. Your team is similar to mine and looks great for gw31 when it reverts. Plus, it’s debatable whether you’d be able to get e.g both Salah and Mané back if you butchered your team for 30, bench boosted, lost loads of tv and tried to get an approximation of your original team back with a wc for gw31. Doesn’t seem to be a popular approach on here but makes sense to me at least.

        Can’t imagine there will be many good benches for those BBing in 30 either, once you’ve got all the players worth having in the first 11. Can’t have Auba, KdB, Aguero, Sterling et al and still afford to have good sgw players with good fixtures on your bench for a boost.

              Not too bad, I admit. You must still either have a great tv or are going without some of the big hitters though. I can’t think of 11 dgw players I want / can afford while still having a good bench and my tv is pretty good.

      Samatta is a no-brainer if you are going to WC31 imo.

    What is the biggest difference in the PP and SP of anyone of your current players?

    It's Dings for me, bought for 6.1, now costing 7.1.

    Thoughts on just building the ideal team to complete the season then this GW30 using FH to get all DGW players and the team will be strong again in GW31 .

    Would leave me BB & WC for the remaining weeks?
