    78.4% of the current top 10k managers have never previously finished in the top 10k while 35.1% have never previously finished in the top 100k.

    What a crazy stat. Dont know what to think of it. Maybe thats the proof that this season has been super weird.

    After 11 seasons of FPL, starting in 2006/07 and with a hiatus between 2016 and 2018, this is my 12th and final FPL season. It’s been great fun but takes up too much time to be competitive and life has taken over. Decided to call it a day and focus solely on the kids and their sports/schooling.

    Currently ranked 7k this season - hopefully push on for top 5k and a record that will read as 8 top 5k’s in 12 seasons - 3 of which inside the top 1k - with a lowest finish of 39k. I’ll take that.

      To imply that FPL was ever A consideration with your relationship with your children and their futures is pretty bad if I’m honest mate.

        Read it back and it sounds as if FPL has been detrimental to the focus on the kids which it hasn’t. It’s just that to be competitive you are constantly browsing the forums etc for tips and I’ve got to the stage where there is just too much clutter what with everything else going on, if that makes sense. So decided to free up my - somewhat dwindling - grey matter for the important stuff. 🙂

      Let me guess your best ranks were at the early years?
      A guy with 8 top 5k and 3 top 1k cant just stop playing you will probably return like you said you already had hiatus of two seasons but you still came back. So I dont think FPL is done with you.

        Yeah I was at my best pre-kids no doubt. First 5 seasons were the 3 top 1k’s and 2 ranks of 3488 and 1780. It went downhill from there!

          Im sure the kids played a part but what I meant played the most part was the competitiveness of the game has increased incredibly. If I remember correctly in the early years under million managers played. Now its 8m and the info is becoming so accessible for everyone. Now its so hard to get those finishes.

            Yeah it does feel harder these days and there is so much more info out there. Yeah playing the numbers game suggests I’ve probably not got any worse it’s just that the standard has improved so much!

      Kind of beta to drop your own hobbies and interests just so that you can live your life more through your kids. It's not like they are going to die or turn into horrible people just because you play FPL, so it seems rather short-sighted and a cop out in my opinion.

      In life I feel it's important to be more than just a good dad, you need to be good at as many things as possible. If you're struggling to balance things, just spend a bit less time on FPL, most of the time you are spending in the forums are probably not translating into FPL points in any case, so still play the game but just spend less time in the forums, simple.

    Az on the scoutcast made a good point. With FA Cup in mind and nothing to play for in the league, Arsenal's priority against Deeney et al will be to get out of there, preferably alive. Starting to doubt the Auba pick.
