How Arteta has revitalised Arsenal’s attack and what it means for FPL managers

Mikel Arteta’s recent changes to his Arsenal team appear to have been getting the best out of his attacking options.

Even though the Gunners’ upcoming fixtures are not the most appealing, Fantasy Premier League managers would do well to keep an eye on north London.

Accordingly, we have analysed the fortunes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (£11.3m), Emile Smith Rowe (£4.5m), Bukayo Saka (£5.3m) and Alexandre Lacazette (£8.3m) after fourth win in five Premier League games.

Depending on (and probably regardless of) how Villa play - Coufal & Justin have been performing well.

It's a tough choice to make IMO.

Play Justin. He's going to play 90 minutes for 38 games, win the league for Leicester, be the starting right and left back in England's victorius Euro 2021 campaign, ride the grand national winner then beat Rafa Nadal at the French Open playing with his weaker hand.

In fairness, City defenders have done decently in more than one previous DGW.

Obviously lucky but given defensive form, not a total madlad pick.

(Except for Cancelo owning folk like me)

As an Antonio owner, he was barely back to fitness from cameo appearances in the league & shaky in the cup game.

If he hadn't got that 90 mins in the cup, he'd have been less of a bet. Haller sale really helped cement him for this GW.

Opponents & WHU form when he plays were the bits we were betting on.

Honestly two goals is beyond what I was expecting from him.

on a points per game basis Lampard is the worst manager in the Abramovic era. Go on some Chelsea blogs to see how the fans feel about him. We haven't beaten a team above us. Our wins this season are Fulham, West Ham, Leeds, Newcastle, Sheffiled Utd, Burnley, Crystal Palace, Brighton. Needs to go imo, he's clueless.

Best defender for Zouma ? 5.7 or under for the price drop and lack of faith now. Preferably around the 4.5 mark.

    Stones,Justin,Coufal,Dallas

A part of me wants Crystal Palace DEF but there garbage, also Aston Villa (Konsa, Targett) but that's unknown.

Is it stupid to still get Targett ?

Surely not for to long ? Just don't want to have a backline full of maybe.

So far Justin will keep his spot but it only takes a game to lose or not be an attacking threat and Pereiras back. Just an example.

Just did a bit more digging. Possible PVA transfer, his place to lose (again) i guess at 3.9 and with the fixtures its probably a good risk and worse case a non playing 3.9 defender is better than a non playing defender with a higher price.

              Thanks

'Justin is a good pick until Ricardo is back in GW 5, should be fine though because Ferguson will also be back by GW 5 so just put him in as your 5th defender'

Who to complete this defence? Playing 4-4-2, budget of 5.2. Was set on James but after tonight unsure again.

    Dias AWB Stones ? Coufal

    Cheers.

Didn't expect Justin, his fixtures are ok short term but I'm hoping for a set and forget so I don't have to waste transfers on defenders. Are Leicester due another DGW? I'm thinking of perhaps going with Targett with Villa's extra fixtures in mind.

      Thanks all.

Their next 7 games the most difficult are Arsenal, Southampton and Everton, not exactly ominous. It's something I'm swithering about as I have AWB as well and Zouma is for the chop

Cant see Justin getting dropped, if Ricardo starts in Albrighton's position thoughts on him as a huge differential? OOP Ricardo could be golden. Thinking of shifting Chilwell or Robbo to him.

My muddy is bugging up Pogba due to his recent performances... not sure if it’s even good or bad at this stage as all of his stupid picks paid off for him this season. Jorginho early season for example...

I think I'm gonna take this as a lesson for future seasons.

Mitchell and Justin have proven that being in the starting lineup in GW1 as an injury stop-gap can be a really good thing. Both have played well and have made themselves a nice spot on their teams.

Justin so close to a goal too. Gutted about getting rid of Mitchell when he finally got his spot back.

Had everyone been fit sooner (GW5), Justin could've lost his place. Mitchell did lose his place and is still a risk imo. But worth it for a 5th defender.

It all depends upon how good the repacements are and for how long the players are injured. If Pereira was back in GW 3/4, he would've been integrated sooner and Justin may have lost his place. But yeah, it's worth punting, especially if you plan to WC early. So, if they do lose their place, you can get rid during WC

In b4 next seasons injury stop-gap gets dropped on GW 1 by an unexpected return of the injured player

Yeah it's different most seasons. Just a load or rubbish posted to sound smart. You need to adapt each season.

Yeah but the best way to adapt is from starting on solid ground. Better to start with a player who is in the team even if it's only temporary.

When players are playing, they can sometimes make themselves indispensable that's the point. It's better than getting say Ferguson.

And we're talking strictly defensive fodders and 8th attackers here. I'll take the guy who's guaranteed a few games over the guy who will become the nailed on guy.

It's not always the best option actually. You're making very blanket statements hugely influenced by recency bias.

Loads of your posts are to be honest.

Well of course individual circumstances will affect it, but if we only tried to make conclusions after the fact, we wouldn't post anything. There must be some speculative element. I'm not saying it's definitive. But it's a consideration.

But at least I'm putting out content and information that tries to make sense of this stuff. Az and Mark have a big list of 'assumptions' about this season too. Would that be worthless too?

And I really don't need to caveat everything with 'well it depends' because of course it does...

I would. Newcaslte look bad and Dallas could easily get an attacking return. But I wouldn't sell him though. If Southampton lose to Arsenal in the FA Cup, Leeds could have a DGW 23.
