Who are the best Burnley players to own for FPL Double Gameweek 24?

Fantasy Premier League managers are considering Burnley players for Double Gameweek 24.

The Clarets face two favourable fixtures against Crystal Palace (away) and Fulham (home) but are they worthy of a mass investment?

How many Burnley assets are too many and which ones should we own? That’s what we’re here to help you with.

After running a data dive on the recent 1-1 draw with Brighton, we have analysed the full capabilities of Sean Dyche’s men at both ends of the pitch in Double Gameweek 24.

THE FORM

Having started 2020/21 in uncharacteristically lethargic spirits, Burnley have embarked on a solid, if unspectacular run, to steer themselves away from the danger zone of late.

They collected 17 of their 23 points over the last 12 matches which included morale-boosting wins at Arsenal (Gameweek 12), home victories over Wolves (Gameweek 14), Sheffield United (Gameweek 16) and Aston Villa (Gameweek 20).

And, of course, their hard work at Anfield in Double Gameweek 19 helped Dyche’s men become the first visiting team to win a Premier League match there since April 2017.

Still, even though the points are flowing more freely these days, one common theme has underpinned the Clarets’ matches this season: lack of goals.

Despite sitting one place above the bottom three, only eight Premier League clubs have conceded fewer times than Burnley this season.

Double Gameweek 24 teams: Fulham - best FPL players, form, fixtures and XXX

Intriguingly, their total of 29 goals shipped is level with Liverpool while second-placed Manchester United (30) and tenth-placed Leeds (38) have both been breached more times than Dyche’s men this season.

The reason for Burnley’s poor performance in the league table despite these hardly relegation-form defensive numbers is, of course, their troubles in front of goal.

After 23 Gameweeks, no team has scored fewer goals than the Clarets (14). Sheffield United have 15 strikes from one extra match, meaning both clubs sit bottom of the league for 0.6 goals per game.

The formbook has not seen much improvement in this area, despite Burnley’s increased number of points.

Over the last 12 matches, their total of nine goals is the second-lowest in the division behind only Fulham (six).

But continuing with their theme, only Manchester City (three), Arsenal (nine) and Leicester (10) have a better defensive record during that time.

No DGW for Brighton. We miss out on loads of cheap options for the DGW benchboost

So Brighton-Newcastle is ON for GW 29.
Burnley-Leicester likely rescheduled for GW 26.

    Current team:

    Areola
    Cancelo, Stones, Cressy
    Barnes, Son, Gundo, Salah, Penandes
    DCR, Antonio

    Johnstone, Coufal, AWB, Bamford

    1FT £3.4m ITB

    Thinking of doing

    A) Antonio & Barnes —-> DCL & Lookman -4

Or do I go nuts and do

    B) Stones, Barnes, Son & Antonio —-> Takowski, Lookman, Sterling & DCL for a -12

    Or

    C) Something else?

Definitely play AWB first of all. Second, don’t do B unless you are 100% wildcarding next week because you don’t wanna lose DGW players like Son who could haul. And Antonio had a good fixture this week so would be wary about getting rid.

A it is then haha. I’m convinced Antonio has done his hammy and isn’t fatigued.

But the DCL is now down.

Happy with Leicester goal - getting BB budget options would be too easy for those with WC/BB in hand if Brighton were to have a dgw26

3rd one is bha -NEW now that Brighton is losing tonight. 3 matches with low owned teams actually pretty good for FH imho. But if Spurs Villa is on in bgw29, FH will be less of an advantage I should think

Villa DGW likely Leeds & Sheffield away.
Sheffield DW likely Liverpool & Villa home.

Leicester DGW likely Arsenal home & Burnley away.
Burnley DGW likely Spurs away & Leicester home.
