Two-time FPL champion of India: The players to target for the season run-in

The Fantasy manager with three top 200 overall ranks to his name, Lateriser, picks out the players that we should be considering for the final eight Gameweeks of 2020/21.

The final stretch is here and with this article, I’m going to recommend a few players that you should be looking at – and I’ll be throwing in some statistics along the way.

Looking at the Season Ticker until the end of the campaign, Liverpool seem like the obvious team to target, especially after their result in the Champions League quarter-final first leg against Real Madrid.

I wouldn’t let the fact that they conceded three goals in Spain dissuade me from investing in their defence. There is a huge difference between Real Madrid and the kind of opposition they are about to face in the last eight Gameweeks of the season. In addition, it looks likely that Liverpool are not going to be involved in the Champions League going forward, so there is a considerably lesser risk of rotation in the final quarter of the campaign.

The Reds’ underlying numbers have improved considerably, as well.

What is FPL Upside Chasing and how can I implement it in 2020/21?

    How's this for a WC squad:

    Martinez Forster
    Dias Rudiger Masuaku Phillips Holding
    Salah Jota Bruno Lingard Son
    Kane Iheanacho Brewster

    £1.4M ITB for great flexibility for future moves, and assuming DGW35...

    GW32: Save FT
    GW33: Son + Brewster -> Smith Rowe + Watkins
    GW34: Save FT
    GW35: Iheanacho + Lingard -> DCL / Ings + Grealish / Rodriguez
    GW36: Save FT
    GW37: Watkins + Grealish -> Raphinha + Bamford
    GW38: DCL / Ings -> Aguero

      I like it. Maybe Coufal over Masuaku as the latter might be rotated imo. A very nice midfield!

    Appreciate some advice on this WC team below:

    Meslier Forster
    Shaw Coady Rudiger Coufal Phillips
    Salah Bruno Son Raphinha Dendoncker
    Kane DCL Bamford

    Went light in defense, so I could afford heavy hitters up front. Thoughts?

        Yeah their fixtures aren't the best, but I have Bamford since GW1 so not many options around with the price I have him for. Same for Raphinha. Would you go Neto over him?

    which 3 is really hurting my head

    A) Salah, Jota, Iheanacho
    B) Jota, Son, Vardy

    not on wildcard, would be 3 transfers over 2 weeks.

    A) will follow the wildcard template, but i have a good feeling that Vardy will explode in the next 5 games.

      Follow your gut then

      There's precious little between Mo and Vardy for actual returns over the past while. Both clearly have huge upside but equally on form could be damp squibs.

      Would A exclude Son? That's hardly following template.

      You don't have a keeper for 33. Not enamoured with the Semedo pick.

      No Son for 32 bit of a worry as well, I wouldn't want to sell Salah or Bruno that week to get him.

      Ultimately think you're making some sacrifices by pushing Vardy into the side.

      Thank you for the responses!

      I hadn't realised that Ederson & Forster both are missing GW33, so thanks for pointing that out.

      The reason for a few of the rogue picks I have are to try and catch up in my ML.

      As ridiculous as it may sound, I'm trying to convice myself out of Son. I already have Kane who I will captain GW32, Son hasn't exactly been smashing the points out recently, either. The obvious reason for leaving Son out is so that I can have Vardy for atleast 5 GW's, who I may use as a captain option at some point. As much as people are jumping on Nacho, I don't trust him at all.

    On a W/C looking to BB GW 32. Team completed apart from one final decision:

    A) Christensen, Shaw & Lingard

    B) Alonso, Shaw & Saka

    C) Alonso, Masuaku & Lingard

    All three options cost 16.2m

    I think Christensen could be rested for my BB GW32

    Thoughts?

      A but go Rudiger.

        Forster Mendy
        Holding Rudiger Shaw Coufal Phillips
        Salah Lingard Bruno Son Jota
        Lacazette Ineanacho Kane

        I have Christensen because price going up but always intended to use Rudiger rather than Christensen. The trouble is I think Rudiger will be rested the next 2 GWs which effs up my plans for the BB so contemplating replacing Rudiger & Lingard for Alonso & Saka
