Three-time top 200 finisher Lateriser: The key FPL stats ahead of Gameweek 33

The reigning FPL champion of India, Lateriser, takes a deep dive into the player and team statistics available to Fantasy Football Scout subscribers.

Before we move into the final stretch of the season, I think it’s a good idea to venture into the Premium Members Area and look at some relevant statistics.

I am writing this article midway through Gameweek 32 of Fantasy Premier League (FPL) so have not taken the data from Wednesday or Thursday’s matches into consideration.

With that in mind, here’s a selection of stats I find important and relevant…

While making transfers this week, it is important to cast an eye on the potential doubles for teams in Gameweek 35. If your team is in place for Blank Gameweek 33, it might be worth saving a transfer.

If you prefer not to save one, it looks likely that Manchester United and Leicester City will have a decent-looking Double Gameweek 35 and could potentially blank in Gameweek 36. I mention these two teams because they have a good run until the end of the season, as well.

Arsenal could also have a decent-looking Double Gameweek but I worry about their motivation on the domestic front, assuming that their primary focus is going to be the Europa League. It is all speculation at this stage, but it is always worth casting an eye on the future while planning your moves.

That’s it from me for this week. I hope this article helped you and thank you for reading.

Yesterday was an important day in football and while writing this article this morning, I couldn’t help but smile. Good luck this Gameweek!

What is FPL Upside Chasing and how can I implement it in 2020/21?

This season has been a strange one, what with covid, but it feels to me that there is a lot more rotation in the bigger teams.
Do you think this will become more of a feature next season, and how do you feel this may impact the attractiveness of fantasy assets?
Also, do you feel Liverpools relatively poor performance this year will lead to some underpriced bargains next year when the likes of VVD and Henderson return?

With Ollie Watkins just having notched his 19th attacking return in his last 28 starts at the time of writing, do you think he is a candidate for signing of the season?

have a bench next GW of Son, Kane and Neto, meaning i'll have to play holding and play chels def roulette so need to get a starter in, best move:

    a) Neto to Pereira
    b) Neto to Rahpina (if fit)
    c) Son to Greenwood

Are you going to want Son back next week?

I'd lean towards A or B. Probably B (ironically as per my post below I'm considering getting rid of him)

I’m ok without son for sheff Utd I think, spurs are under new management so can argue a bit of a unknown and perhaps with sheff Utd relegated performances increases.

Could do both for a hit and bench holding plus one of my chels def

I think Sheff Utd performances are going to continue to be awful, possibly worse now that it's confirmed that they're down. They literally have nothing to play for.

    Afternoon all

Thoughts on Raphina to Greenwood? I don't have Bruno and this move allows me to keep Son for the SHU match next week. Don't really want to loose Raph but next 3 fixtures aren't amazing.

Am I the only one still not confident in Greenwood's nailedness? Was literally just benched last week. Could easily be rested, Cavani up top with a Pogba-Bruno-James front three behind him.

It's a good point but he's a man in form, and possibly more likely to get the rest in Europe where Ole may prefer Cavani's experience?

Getting Mendy on WC was my biggest mistake. Should I...

    A. Get Meslier in for free

    B. Pay a premium to go crawling back to Martinez

The one I'd look to move is Forster if you can and are worried. Rubbish defence and he's highly unlikely to improve on his 20 points from 7 outings ratio. He doesn't do saves much.

          Agree with Rotation above.

Don't think he's lost his place. The cup game is an irrelevance and he's missed one before. You need a back up and I think Meslier makes sense as he's arguably the better pick anyway from 36 on.

No but you could well be starting him anyway of course. Plenty of rotation worries there.

Like the Havertz call - is he fresh in this week? Not sure I've seen such a stripped down midfield.

Yes he'll probably be coming in for me anyway. With Madrid midweek I can only hope Alonso starts ahead of a rested Chilwell and Havertz starts with a view to playing Werner through the middle against Madrids high line.

Had Havertz since GW30. Got 3.3 to spend on the midfield if need be.

this is an astonishing and also frightening quote from Agnelli:

“We need a competition that is able to counter what [young people] reproduce on digital platforms, transforming the virtual into the real. On [the video game] Fifa you can create your own competition; that competition needs to be brought into the real world. We overlook the effects of the competition of the various Fortnite, Call of Duty etc, authentic catalysts for the attention of the young people of today who are destined to become the spenders of tomorrow"

This is analogous to the talk that preceded t20 cricket and the Hundred.

haha I need more info about Kane's injury. He would be a keep for now and see if he plays in the final. He won't play tonight/ I'm sure you have some value built-up as well.

Built up value fairly irrelevant in my case with loads itb - more to the point is how Spurs look this week.

If they look dull then I may just take a view that one of Kane and Son is enough going forward, Kane back from injury may be the one I ditch.

Looking at the option anyway. It might be Cavani over Welbeck though 😉

Ineffective. Seen Brighton fans complain that he never really works at ST, and based on last night I can see why. Didn't get much of a sniff around Chelsea's goal.

Probably will play SHU, but behind 2 forwards, not part of the pair

Have they changed system? Haven't seen their last couple of games but iirc against Southampton and Newcastle when he did well, they were playing two strikers that would then split and take up wide positions with Trossard playing centrally but effectively starting from 10.

Yeah they've been playing 3412 with Trossard as the 1, but last night it was more of a 352 with no Maupay and Trossard instead lining up alongside Welbeck

Any ideas here? Got 1FT and 0.3m in the bank.. Starting XI looks like this.

    Mendy
    Coady - Trent - Rudiger - Veltman
    Salah (c) - Bruno - Jota - Lingz
    Vydra - Nacho

Bench: Forster - Coufal - Kane - Son

2FT here 0.2 ITB, but have 3 Spurs, Neto and Davis.

Would you rather sell a Spurs asset to free some funds, or find some low buget combo for Neto and Davis?

Thinking of ESR + Welbeck, but not overly confident...

yeah he got 36 points for you.

think of the Mane TCers last year, injured in first half of first game of DGW and got people 3 points.

It's a huge loss and he could have hit a brace/hattie vs an awful Southampton side, as a fellow TCer I too am disappointed and can only tell you that it is a horrific tragedy that could be extremely difficult to recover from. Thoughts and prayers

He's already scored 2, stop being greedy. It would've been great to get Saints too, but he did better than a lot of candidates in other DGWs this season and in the past, so we have to take what we got and be happy.

I’d think Greenwood has the form. Worrying that Trossard was subbed yesterday at 59 but I’d have him second. All decent though

Fixture changes announced for gameweeks 34 & 35 but no sign of any rearranged fixtures. Anyone else surprised at this or was it expected?

I am so sick of this. I am having a bad season and blaming it entirely on this lack of fixture clarity. It certainly can't be down to anything poor that I have individually done...

      Surely.

Expected. Just the normal TV time releases, though I was expecting the full month to be released - assumably stopped at 35 to allow them to tinker with the fixtures for when fans return? Must admit I haven't been keeping track of the latest fixture rumours, given up trying to plan for any of it.

Yeah he’s made a good point that the announcement only covers up to May 10th and not the DGW part of GW35 which will be May 11-13.

          1. Ruth_NZ
            • 9 Years
            3 years, 6 months ago

            But May 11-13 is GW36. 😆

Crellin assumes the GW36 deadline will move, therefore everyone assumes the GW36 deadline will move. There's absolutely no reason why it should. It can stay where it is and the only difference to what everyone has been given to expect would be that GW35 would be a normal week and GW36 would have no blanks and a small DGW for 4 teams.

This has nothing, repeat nothing to do with when the fixtures are scheduled. It only has to do with what FPL do about the GW deadlines and Crellin has chosen the least likely option. But because no-one thinks for themselves they assume he must be right, even though he has got plenty wrong already this season. After all, he has such nice colours on his pretty spreadsheet. 🙄

That's a shame, was banking on strong planning for the 35 double and 36 blank to give me the final push up the rankings I needed.

Hey, you might be OK. It could be the way Crellin says, I'm not saying it's impossible. It just isn't the only possibility and there are simpler ways FPL could do it.

Yeah, let's just see how it falls - always are other ways to gain.

What do you make of this? Crellin thinks otherwise on what happens if the deadlines aren't changed.

Gundo is a problem as he's now surely less likely to be risked in 34 for Palace as that is sandwiched in between CL matches. That leaves Chelsea in 35 as his next one.
