Early to look at MD3 of course, but I've a free morning, so...

Thoughts on this as a potential WC?

    Stekelenburg / Simon
Spinazzola, Dumfries, Meunier / Gosens, Torres
Berardi, Yarmolenko, Wijnaldum, Alaba / Gnabry
    Lukaku, Yaremchuk, Muller

    Any thoughts?

First question marks I have are whether to downgrade Lukaku and the lack of captain for day 3 (likely one from England or Croatia).

I expect a lot of rotation from Italy, Belgium & Netherlands now that they’ve qualified. I’d be wary about going for those players.

Italy no problem really as the lineup will be out before the deadline.

Fair point otherwise though. Taking Lukaku out would allow a spread of cash. E.g:

        Lukaku > Embolo
        Alaba > Mount
        Torres > Alba

Could also do Dumfries > Rodriguez.

I agree. Have been pondering over ways to get him in. This would do it:

          Lukaku > Embolo
          Wijnaldum > De Bruyne

Leaves 0.7 to upgrade Stekelburg or Pau Torres, too.

Dumfries, Gini & Kaku all likely to be benched imo.

Tending to agree. This could be an alternative.

        Sommer (or Schmeichel?) / Simon
Spinazzola, Rodriguez, Meunier / Gosens, Torres
Berardi, Yarmolenko, De Bruyne, Alaba / Gnabry
        Embolo, Yaremchuk, Muller

England really ought to beat Scotland easily today. Pretty much player-for-player England are better. England need to outwork Scotland and they should be fine. Learn from the Iceland game in 2016.

Best captain for today out of these:

    Perisic, Mount, Sterling

I'm sticking on my Bale captain but have Perisic and Foden today. If I needed a captain I'd probably be going for Perisic out of the two, if that helps at all.

Be really interested to hear the thoughts of others on Perisic's prospects. Seen little this tournament that makes me think he'll explode.

My feeling is that Mount is slightly less likely to score from open play, but has the set piece threat.

Would be surprised to see Sterling score 2 in 2, but far from impossible.

Really tough to call whether the derby will make Scotland more resilient.

Scotland will be fired up, no doubt, but they also can't play for a draw, which I think will play into England's hands a bit.

Perisic would be my last pick. I expected more from Croatia vs England. Perisic had quite a poor season (5g 5a), I see less potential in him over England. Scotland is quite poor, Sterling plays from the left side (opposite of Robbo, worth some though).

Still, any of the 3 are viable

I think Mount will get something today. Perisic probably the most likely Croatian to get something, but I have a feeling they'll get turned over by the Czechs.

Dunno about any leaks but I'm sure it will be something wildly unpredictable like this:

      .........Grealish Kane Foden..........
      Chilwell Bellingham Rice Sancho
      ........Maguire Coady James.........
      ...................Pickford.....................

Thanks for the free tool Ragabolly, must have taken ages. Couldn't resist but make a team.

    Sanchez
    TAA - Robbo - Chilwell - White/Cooper
    Salah - Bruno - Foden
    Antonio - Wilson - Toney

Obviously meaningless, but fun 5 mins to get the juices flowing 🙂

      Mine atm:

      Sanchez
      TAA - Digne - Lamptey
      Salah - Bruno - Greenwood - Sarr
      Antonio - Watkins - Toney

bench: Steele - Zinckernagel - Kiko - Llorente

Forgot Lamptey existed. Hope he gets over his injury problems next season.

I imagine Greenwood will rotate with Cavani next season, especially if Sancho arrives.

Sure, this is just first impressions, more structure wise tinkering than actual solutions. Kane and Sancho transfers, if happen will be massive. Greenwood and Foden are players that I am most interested in, but once burn, twice shy after similar situation at the end of last season, so they are a long shot at this point.

I must say that price predictions seem spot on, really can't argue with it. If Zinckernagel happens to be 4.5, I am tempted. I know he's not nailed, but it will be sweet if he turns out to be somewhat like Cantwell.

    Nice!

First observations: I don’t think Pope will be 5.5 after 144 points - hopefully will be 5.0

Also don’t think Meslier will be 5.0 after 155 points - think he will get lumbered with a 5.5… and Sanchez at Brighton surely gets 5.0 instead of 4.5 as well…

If Martinez is 5.5 after nearly 190 points there’s surely no way they make Pope the same price with just over 140 (real risk of 6.0 for !artinez imo - although he might just avoid it by the skin of his teeth)

Matt Target ain’t gonna be 5.0 on set pieces for Villa either - 5.5 minimum, Max Aaron’s surely won’t get away with 4.5 either but if he did it’d be great, same with Veltman at 4.5

TAA will surely get a price drop to 7.0 after his much lower scores last year

Reckon Bruno will only be 12.0 too not 12.5

    Salah & mane look right at 12.0 & 11.0

Son looks maybe 0.5 too high at 11.0

Grealish & Raphinia both look bang on at 8.0 & 7.0

Barnes 7, Maddison 7.5, Neto 6.5, Greenwood 7.5 all look spot on too

Lingard will surely NOT be 8.0 - I’d be suprised if he’s over 7.5 & probably only 7.0… don’t think Pogba will get away with 7.0 either, likely 7.5

Cantwell at 5.5 would be a bit of a gift horse as well - reckon he’s a 6.0 - exact same with Dwight McNeill at 5.5 (surely 6.0/6.5)

I don’t think Kane will be all the way up at 12.5 - thinking 12.0 unless the city move happens before price releases

Vardy will likely get a drop from 10.0 to 9.5, maybe 9.0 if we’re lucky

DCL might only be 8.0, Bamford looks right, Watkins likely only 7.5 not 8.0, Ings & Jimmy price drops to 7.5’s are on the cards, Wilson looks right at 7.0

And 6.5 looks correct for Toney, Pukki & Sarr… misters Nacho & Antonio also look correct….

That being said - With those current prices I’d be rocking something like this though (unless Kane goes to City)

    Sanchez
    TAA, Taylor, Femenia
    Bruno, Salah, Grealish, McNeill
    Watkins, Wilson, Bamford
    (4.0, Veltman, Mitchell, 4.5) +0.5 ITB

Would love to stretch the 5.5 midfield (currently McNeill or Cantwell, but they likely won’t be 5.5’s) slot up to Raphinia as he’s going to be incredible for 7.0 so might still tinker around with that aim

Few adjustments needed I reckon Ragabolly!

But great work as usual 🙂

TAA finished the season very strongly (9-12-11-8-2-7-9-6-6-5) and priced at 7.8m. No way will he be less than 7.5m.
Agreed that Pope should be 5.0, Meslier 5.5, Bruno 12.0 & Kane 12.0.
      Sanchez 4.5, Targett 5.0, Son 11.0, Lingard 8.0, DCL 8.5 & Watkins 8.0 all look quite reasonable.
Cantwell shouldn't be any higher than 5.5 IMO - he might only be 5.0.

      1. Maximus Bonimus Pointimus
        • 14 Years
        3 years, 6 months ago

        I reckon we'll get TAA at 7.0

FPL are very heavily influenced by immediate prior season performance, and as strong as he finished, 160 points and 12 clean sheets does not a 7.5 defender make

The other huge thing is he's lost roughly 50% of his set pieces to Robbo versus his 2019/20 monopoly too

7.0 is still an absolutely eye watering sun of money for a defender remember - but I think we're going to get handed a pricing gift with him this season

          • 14 Years

And I can't see any way they make Lingard 8.0 after playing only 15 games - 7.5 max imo, maybe 7.0

He was horrific on the run in too, hopefully not enough to spook any prospective buyers to get him the hell off Man Utd books
