How Spurs, Wolves and Palace fared in their first games under new managers

The pre-season friendlies began to ramp up this weekend, with seven Premier League teams in action on Friday or Saturday.

We’ll bring you news on the games involving Norwich City, Arsenal and Brentford, plus Chelsea’s behind-closed-doors game against Peterborough, in a separate round-up later.

First, though, we assess how Tottenham Hotspur, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Crystal Palace fared in their first warm-up fixtures under their respective new managers.

You can find all our pre-season content via this link, including Scout Notes on every single first-team friendly that takes place over the summer.

LEYTON ORIENT 1-1 TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR

  • Goals: Dane Scarlett
  • Assists: Lucas Moura (£6.5m)

An inexperienced Tottenham Hotspur squad drew 1-1 in Nuno Espirito Santo’s first match in the Lilywhites’ hotseat.

Spurs’ international contingent runs into double figures and the likes of Son Heung-min (£10.0m) and Harry Kane (£12.5m) are among the group of players currently recuperating following their exertions for their countries this summer.

The north London side are handing their internationals three weeks break as standard following their busy summers, with England’s progress to the final of EURO 2020 meaning that Kane isn’t scheduled to return to training until the beginning of August.

Dele Alli (£6.5m), Harry Winks (£4.5m) and Steven Bergwijn (£6.0m) were the only Spurs players who made Ryan Mason’s Gameweek 38 starting XI who featured at Leyton Orient on Saturday, although Eric Dier (£4.5m) and Lucas Moura (£6.5m) did line up at Brisbane Road.

The headline news perhaps was the choice of formation, with Nuno opting for a 4-2-3-1/4-1-4-1 and not the wing-back system he mostly utilised at Wolves; the latter set-up would certainly rekindle a bit of Fantasy interest in Matt Doherty (£5.0m) and Sergio Reguilon (£5.0m).

The dearth of available senior centre-halves is, of course, one possible reason why the new Spurs head coach opted for a back four: Joe Rodon (£4.5m), Davinson Sanchez (£4.5m) and Toby Alderweireld (£5.0m) are all still on belated post-season breaks following their involvement in the European Championship and Copa America.

But Nuno did turn to a back four with increasing frequency in his final months at Molineux, so it’s not a given that he’ll bring the 3-4-3 along with him to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

A low-key game at Orient – a glorified training exercise, as these mid-July opening friendlies often are – saw teenage forward Dane Scarlett score Spurs’ only goal following a fine Lucas Moura (£6.5m) lay-off.

FPL’s generous pricing of Alli caught the eye upon the game’s relaunch although perhaps they were one step ahead of the rest of us, as the former MK Dons midfielder was operating in a disconcertingly deeper role in the Lilywhites’ engine room here.

Tottenham Hotspur XI: Hart (Whiteman 46), Paskotsi (Lyons-Foster 64), Carter-Vickers (Fagan-Walcott 64), Dier (Omole 64), Cesay (Eyoma 64), Winks (Bowden 64), Lucas (Mundle 64), John (White 64), Dele (Devine 64), Bergwijn (Clarke 64), Scarlett (Parrott 64).

CREWE ALEXANDRA 1-0 WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS

Neto and Podence strike as Wolves win overshadowed by serious Jiménez injury

Raul Jimenez (£7.5m) made a welcome return to first-team football with a half-hour run-out for Wolverhampton Wanderers at Gresty Road on Saturday.

The Mexico international hadn’t played for Wolves since fracturing his skull against Arsenal in late-November.

Against Crewe, Jimenez struck the woodwork with a deflected free-kick and showed no obvious signs of any psychological damage when climbing high to tussle for a header early on.

The Mexican striker was part of Bruno Lage’s first-ever Wolves starting XI at the weekend, with the first-half team about the strongest available to the new manager given that a number of internationals have yet to return to pre-season training.

The choice of formation was interesting to note, with Lage going with the same 4-4-2 set-up he used at Benfica and pairing Jimenez with Fabio Silva (£6.0m) in a two-man attack.

With the full-backs encouraged to get forward and new signing Francisco Trincao (£6.0m) roaming infield from a starting right-wing position, the early indications – as many thought – are that Lage will be more attack-minded than his predecessor.

The deployment of an ‘out of position’ Rayan Ait Nouri (£4.5m) as a left winger was also noteworthy from a Fantasy perspective, although the unavailability of Adama Traore (£6.0m), Daniel Podence (£5.5m) and Pedro Neto (£6.5m) perhaps forced Lage’s hand in that regard.

Traore, and potentially Podence, will be available come Gameweek 1.

Similarly, Morgan Gibbs-White (£4.5m) impressed in midfield and Ki-Jana Hoever (£4.0m) was stationed at right-back but the inevitable return of Wolves’ Portugal internationals may dictate how much game-time the budget FPL pair get next season.

Lage made wholesale changes at half-time, with a youthful side going on to concede the only goal of the game.

Back-up goalkeeper John Ruddy (£4.5m), set to play understudy to Jose Sa (£5.0m) in 2021/22, spoke about Lage’s front-foot tactics after full-time on Saturday:

First of all, he wants us to understand when we need to press high. We’ve got a lot of intelligent players who are aware of that anyway, so a lot of it is just making sure we’re in the right shape.

He definitely wants to be a front foot team and he also wants to get the ball down and play through the thirds. Whether that’s starting from the back or higher up, he wants everyone to be aware of the positions and the lines of the ball that he wants.

Fluidity is massive for it. Without movement and understanding between the players you are never going to create opportunities, but as you saw (against Crewe) some of the movement was superb.

It’s about recognising. If I’m a striker and the wingers come inside, can I pull out wide? It’s about the midfielders recognising that as well. And then obviously the man on the ball recognising which is the best pass to play.

He gets his point across really well. On the training ground he’s very intense, very intense. He wants you to work hard. He wants you to take the instruction. If we’ve done a couple of drills well then he’s happy, if not we’ll keep working. The last two weeks have been very tough in terms of the intensity and the workload.

Wolverhampton Wanderers XI: Ruddy, Hoever (Scott 46, Lonwijk 86), Boly (Marques 46), Kilman (Saiss 66), Marcal (Bueno 46), Trincao (Cundle 46), Perry (Otasowie 46), Gibbs-White (Estrada 46), Ait-Nouri, Jimenez (Cutrone 33, Samuels 86), Silva (Dadashov 46).

WALSALL 0-1 CRYSTAL PALACE

  • Goals: Wilfried Zaha (£7.5m)
  • Assists: Rob Street

Patrick Vieira’s reign got off to a winning start but Crystal Palace’s personnel shortage was laid bare at the Bescot Stadium.

With a cluster of players officially ‘released’ and awaiting contract offers or departing for pastures new, the Eagles are also without long-term injury victims Nathan Ferguson (£4.5m) and Eberechi Eze (£6.0m) at present.

The Athletic report that new signing Michael Olise (£5.5m) is nursing a back problem, while Luka Milivojevic (£5.5m), Cheikhou Kouyate (£4.5m) and Christian Benteke (£6.5m) weren’t involved in Saturday’s friendly at Walsall, having been granted extended leave – the latter two having represented their countries this summer.

Only 12 players priced up in FPL were in action in Palace’s first warm-up game under Vieira.

The bulk of the first team played in the opening 45 minutes at Walsall, with back-up options Jack Butland (£4.5m), Jean-Phillipe Mateta (£5.5m) and Jaroslaw Jach (£4.5m) the only senior players handed game-time after the break.

Vieira frequently turned to a 4-3-3 at former employers Nice and New York City and it was that system that he employed at the Bescot Stadium, with Wilfried Zaha (£7.0m) and Jordan Ayew (£6.0m) flanking youngster Rob Street in a three-man attack.

There was a start for bargain-bin FPL asset Martin Kelly (£4.0m) at centre-half, although the Eagles will almost certainly add to their options at the heart of their backline in the coming month and it’s far too early to be getting carried away about his first-team prospects at this stage.

Zaha caught the eye against admittedly limited League Two opposition, causing havoc when cutting in off the left flank and forcing two saves – one a superb low stop – out of home goalkeeper Carl Rushworth.

The Ivory Coast international eventually broke the deadlock after a one-two with Street, finishing low past Rushworth from 12 yards.

The Eagles were scarcely troubled, save for an 85th-minute effort from the hosts that struck the woodwork.

Speaking after the game, Kelly discussed Vieira’s tactics – and provided some positive comments, from a Fantasy perspective, about Zaha:

Patrick’s come in with his coaching staff and he has a big emphasis on us keeping the ball more, and creating more chances with the players we’ve got in the top third of the field.

For us, it’s about working as a team to get the ball to those guys – our ‘danger players’ as such. It’s exciting knowing who we’ve got up there at the minute. We’ll keep working on it and trying to figure out how to get it to them.

We want to get Wilf [Zaha] in the part of the pitch where he’s most dangerous, and that’s out wide tucking in and getting into one-v-ones with the defenders. He’s been great at that, season after season, as well as Jeff [Schlupp] and Jordan [Ayew] out there.

It’s going to take time – it’s a new system for us and we know we’ve got the players, we just need the time to get on board and practice.

Crystal Palace first-half XI: Guaita, Clyne, Kelly, Tomkins, Mitchell, Schlupp, Riedewald, McArthur, Ayew, Street, Zaha.

Crystal Palace second-half XI: Butland, Quick, O’Brien, Jach, Hannam, Kirby, Boateng, Wells-Morrison (Steele 73), Rak-Sakyi, Gordon (Mateta 73), Banks.

i'm really sturggling to decide between ihenacho and antonio for the first 7 gw's. both excellent stats, focal points of productive attacks, decent early fixtures. Anyone see a clear reason to favor one over the other?

Nacho on watch list. Want to get out the gates up to speed quick and with Barnes & Daka feel there is additional risk to begin with nacho until things are clearer. Just feels Antonio is a more straightforward option.

I'm going Iheanacho, ended the season in great form and I think he's the main man going forward with Vardy's age and Daka coming in to eventually replace him but for now mainly to provide cover. I'm surprised so many think Iheanacho won't play much. Antonio is quality when fit but that's just the problem, and if you're looking at picking one with the first 7 games in mind I'd be surprised if Antonio plays in more than 4/5 of those.

Arsenal fans - talk to me about Pepe.

    Is he nailed?
    Does he have competition?
Can we trust him as a FPL option?

I know he did well at the end of last season but can he replicate the same form again?

One thing I noticed is most of his goals towards the end of last season were scored against teams like Palace, Brighton and WBA - is that concerning?

Not an Arsenal fan but I think he’s a transfer waiting to happen. Never been a trustworthy pick in the past.

I’m sure there’ll be a point in the season where he gets the odd double digit haul or even a purple patch but I’m happy to wait for him to show something before I bring him in.

Great option if nailed. He does have plenty of competition though. Currently Pepe, Saka, Martinelli, Nelson, Willian, vying for 2 spots on the wings. You could add Aubameyang to that list too. Ideally, Willian will leave and can be removed from that list. But also ideally, Arsenal sign another CAM so you can add ESR to that list.

(Actually, you might add ESR to that list anyway, since he likes to roam to the wings in any match, regardless, and maybe Arteta could try 3 CMs, with Partey and/or Lokonga and/or a new signing allowed to get forward more.)

Tbh, I think he'll be worth the outlay, since he'll get plenty of minutes. I expect Arteta will try to get him in the box a bit more this season. I think we can trust him when he's on the pitch, yes, especially if he's given chances in front of goal (or if he creates them for himself!)

      Nope, not really.

This sounds silly to even say, but bad teams give up goals so, players score most of their goals against them.

Sure there are outliers / heavy hitters but, in general, bad teams give up goals so, this *flat-track bully* notion is sort of overrated.

Best midfielder to have in the 6.5m to 9m bracket for the start of the season?
    Not Raphinha.

The reason why I'm considering such a big price bracket is because I can downgrade Robbo and upgrade my 3rd mid to a 9m mid.

I think that range is full of options. Not all necessarily to start with, but there's at least 5 worth considering starting with.

Just off the top of my head.

        Grealish
        Jota
        Greenwood
        Hames?
        Maddison/Barnes?
        Buendia

Grealish, Jota & Greenwood are all a bit risky. We can't be sure how many mins they will get start of the season.

Maddison/Barnes are worth monitoring and I like Buendia for the first 3 as well.

        2. Sgt Frank Drebin

I forgot about Greenwood, he could be interesting option if he plays at least 70% of the minutes (but given that they signed Sancho it can be difficult). Yeah, Buendia could also be good but I would rather first see where he plays on the pitch and how well he does (as with all the new signings).

Buendia for me. Has the potential for a 150+ point season.

In theory he'll be better at Villa. You can't double up on him with Grealish on the other flank.

Not a Villa fan but if they can keep Grealish they could be a very entertaining watch. Solid at the back, great front 3 and decent central midfielders. Manager had done a great job I think

If both have Coufal is it not a choice between TAA/Lamptey and VVD/Digne?

Lamptey has the potential to match Digne but TAA has the potential to far exceed VVD.

The pool defence had a bad time last season and Trent was still posting excellent offensive stats by the end of the season. VVD boosts TAA even further imo and there isn’t enough price difference to make the downgrade worthwhile.

I’m expecting a vastly improved season from Trent and he’s the only player I’d consider essential. That’s even after having been burned badly at the start of last season.

Yeah you're right re: Coufal - was just showing who my 3 defenders will be.

I don’t think we really have that luxury though. Liverpool’s fixtures are too good not to start with at last one of their defenders. In my view Trent is the best option and if I’m proven wrong I’ll happily make the transfer to VVD down the line and reinvest elsewhere. Much more difficult to get Trent in later if I don’t have him.

I mean my squad has Trent, Digne, Coufal and Lamptey so the only real choice I’d be making is TAA vs VVD and it’s currently a no brainer for me.

Is it too much of a risk going without a LIV Defender from GW1?

    Currently my Defence is: 6.0 / 5.5 / 5.5 / 5.5 / 4.5
(Dias, Shaw, James, Cresswell / Coady)
I could have Chillwell & Coufal instead of James & Cresswell?

I can't fit TAA or Robertson in without weakening my team. Not sure it's worth doing when i have 4x 5.5+ options?

In a well below average season both Robbo and TAA scored 160 points. There are 7.5 - 12m mids who scored less.

If Liverpool tighten up defensively this season (end of last would suggest so) it'll take some balls to go without either.

Looking for a 3-6 GW mid for upto 7.5m - who'd you pick?

    1. Gundogan
    2. Buendia (Own Watkins)
    3. Bowen
    4. Greenwood
    5. Lingard (If he moves to West Ham)

I think there's misconception on doubling. Some of my best seasons have been doing just that (Arteta and Cahill spring to mind.)

Villa spent 35m odd on him, he has prem experience, can deliver a set piece etc. I think there's a lot going for Buendia.

See who we play at the back in pre season and who we buy and sell.
Keane,Mina,Godfrey,Holgate,Branthwaite all vying for starting spots.

Everton are trying to buy Kouilbaly too.(which I can’t see myself. He’s on massive wages at Napoli) If he comes im guessing Mina or Keane will be sold.

Holgate is trash and Branthwaite will probably be loaned out again.

On this at the moment, with GW4 WC planned:

    Martinez (Foster)
    TAA Shaw Digne Lamptey (Manquillo)
    Salah Fernandes Buendia (Gilmour, Bissouma)
    Cavani Watkins Iheanacho

    Which combo is better?

    A) Martinez-Lamptey-Iheanacho
    B) Sanchez-Targett-DCL

Leaning A purely because of my love for Emi Martinez, but also because Iheanacho will be fantastic if he starts and Lamptey is more attacking than Targett. Not sure about trusting DCL and the new Everton’s attacking ability, but he’s also more nailed than Iheanacho and has better fixtures as well.

Looking at how easy it is to switch any of the raft of 6.5 to 7.0 attackers into defence much prefer to wait and see.

It’s not just Liverpool defence that is dicey. City and Chelsea have also been inconsistent in clean sheets. Last season City second half were miserable as were Chelsea first half. You get them when they’re hot and you avoid otherwise. Defence is form driven.

With Leicester Switching to a front two formation based from Barnes injury and how well that worked out…
I don’t think Rogers is going to mess with that but to enable it he sacrifices wide players (and that will include Barnes).

That said, if the formation changes just to leverage Barnes then it may be a 4-2-3-1 which re-enables him in the team. Barnes can’t play wing back and if the formation doesn’t change then that’s only really where he could play.

The last option would be if Rogers wants to drop a fully fit Madison and plays Barnes in behind. He did playing in that role prior to the senior team. Even deeper you have Tielemans and I think he’ll stay where he is. So if Barnes does come in and plays just behind the front two then Nacho would drop back (could be less effective) leaving Vardy/daka higher up. The thing with this though is a lot of the time he would get the ball with his back to goal, and that limits his running / dribbling potential and effectiveness which is the reason for the interest in him in the first place.

Bottom line for me; absolutely worth monitoring and keeping an eye, It will come down to if there is a formation change. Out of my plans for a consideration for the start of the season, but in consideration for once we see how things flush out.

How well did the front 2 work out?

Nacho may have been a FPL hero and saved Leicester’s bacon a few times given absence of Vardy as attacking force but that’s not the same as Leicester being stronger with a front 2.

Happy to be gsinsaid but I thought Leicester got more points and looked better with a 3 including Barnes

As for Vardy he only scored two open-play goals in 27 appearances after Christmas, but he did change his style of play to help Iheanacho, Really, Nacho would’ve scored as many goals as he did without Vardy.

Well obviously. We’re talking about fantasy points here for reasoning of selection. Sure team performance is the other consideration as it plays into selection.

Didn’t Barnes get injured around Feb? So about 2/3 through the season. With him in the team they lost six times and drew four times. For the last third of the season they only really stuffed it up in the last two games but also lost 6 times. then you’ve got end of season fatigue and tiredness as factors the aren’t there during the time that he wasn’t in the team. Plus one player does not make a team and secondly way too many variables overtime. If Barnes fits in to the team with them all fit then he won’t play as many minutes and when he does play I reckon his output won’t be as good in addition to other key players outputs not being so good. That may or may not win the games. As I said nachos form in a front two was prolific and goals win games.

Think you have sort have made my point for me - Leicester as a team did no better with Nacho in. And goals do not win games - teams do - that's kind of basic really.

Fair play record for the Championship makes for some interesting reading.

Watford were joint top last season for yellows, with 79 - Chalobah the joint worst offender in the division with 12.

Brentford were joint bottom with 48 - Toney picking up 9 (with 1 leading to a red).

Buendía picked up 6 for Norwich (with 2 leading to a red).

I don't think u need to spread the funds much anywhere to have to get rid of him. 4-4-2 Is a respectable formation as well. Don't need 3-4-3 or 3-5-2 everytime.

If I go the latter I’ll have to shave 0.5 of this:

                  Bruno | Son | Jota | Raphinha | Sarr

I think that like most everyone else on here you have conveniently ignored the fact that some players who went deep in Euro2020 and Copa will not be ready to start in GW1. 5 of 15 in that squad are at risk. They won't all be missing but you can be fairly sure some will.

That being the case, posting a RMT almost 4 weeks before the season begins is a complete exercise in futility. Even making a draft is really. The late news in the days before GW1 will be indispensable.

Strangely enough as a Spurs fan I think Kane is a risk for the start of the season.

If he stays at Spurs he may be in a sulk. If he goes to Man City he may need some bedding in.

Of course he might be amazing but it's and expensive risk

Question: Why is Trent seemingly essential amongst most of the FPL community?

      1. 7.5m - the same price when Liverpool were title contenders and at the peak of their powers
      2. VVD will take time to return
      3. Only 160 points. Many other defenders cheaper can match that or just below for 1/2m cheaper.
      4. Liverpool as a team have not improved all that much in the market.
      5. City, Leicester, Chelsea, United far closer to Liverpool than when Trent has been priced at 7.5m last few seasons
      6. Trent has just had a pretty nasty injury

I am aware he had a good end to the season but I’m shocked as why so so many are wanting him and rubbishing teams without.

Only 160 points in a season where Liverpool struggled as a team + Trent struggled himself, most part of the season.
160 points in a bad season is still pretty good.

To my eyes he is a midfielder with the luxury of extra points for CS.

And I'm sure he will score more points this season.

That is season selection talk though. Not week 1 selection.

My query is how good he is for immediate selection in week 1. 7.5 is a huge chunk on week 1 budget. Weeks 3 and 4 look very poor fixtures. 1 and 2 look much better but Liverpool may have a new man Konate to bed in and VVD is can unknown too.

Just raising questions - nothing decided for me yet. Its going to be very easy to get him anyway from one of those mid priced attackers and I could yet decide to wait until Liverpool produce. Question of whether I can use that 2 mill well elsewhere.

        Fair imo

This is a FFS selection - he is way less popular "out there". He did do well towards the end but it wasn't sensational to justify all this and having had him early for that run I don't see him as a 100% selection.

Think this is partly "cabin fever" and the fact that City and Chelsea are so tricky to select right now. If TAA is such a good selection, should we not logically be seeing more of VVD and/or Robbo too?

        1. Bobby Digital

Here he is 75% plus and counting and that is likely an underestimate. 27% allows for discussion of merits of the selection.

Any team without TAA gets ripped generally.

I think he just had a dip in form. Liverpool are still one of the top 3 defences in the league, he has great early fixtures, and is still on set-pieces. Think VVD back will give him more of a licence to bomb on as well. We didn't particularly see many open play goal involvements from Trent last season

            1. Athletic Nasherbo
              • 7 Years
              3 years, 4 months ago

Both TAA + Liverpool were in bad form. I think people are assuming they’re going to return to their best. I can’t see it. VVD hasn’t played in 9 months either. Going to take time I think. Wijnaldum a loss in midfield from a defensive perspective and Konate new to the league. Many question marks which people are not acknowledging in my view because of decent fixtures.

By extension weeks 1-19 were foul. He is back from injury (again) so which set of form do you expect?

Think the key here is that form comes into it - especially when you look at cs. They are not a given and do not fall evenly over a season.

      Team is up:

      Schmeichel
      TAA, Chilwell, Dunk, Fofana
      Havertz, Salah, Son, Foden
      Bamford, Watkins

      Ward, Lowton, Bissouma, 4.5

Double Leicester defence is a bit uncertain, but it is a work in progress. Not too confident in the Brighton defense to go for Sanchez.

Thought about United, Shaw in particular, but went with Chilwell.
Bruno too costly as Pogba takes some of his end product away.

Lamptey is a bit injury prone, so I leave him be until proven again, likewise with Barnes.

Bamford could be Nacho though. Been back and forth on that one.

What about Antonio or Wilson for Bamford?
I'd go Sancho then for Son/Havertz
          Actually prefer Chilwell to Shaw

Antonio is a decent shout. Thanks!
            Cavani also.

Sancho could be good. As could Greenwood if Rash is out.

I think Bamford is a great pick. Surprised he's not in more teams. He's a good and clever player and will most likely score as many points as last season.

Jota Watkins & Antonio in a 4-5-2 or Watkins Antonio Nacho in 4-3-3?

        Jota or Nacho...

Jota, as Firmino went to the Olympics

First RMT of the season, quite a lot of tinkering today

      Sanchez
      TAA - Digne - Lamptey
      Salah - B.Fernandes - Sancho - Buendia - Mbuemo
      Antonio - Watkins

      Gunn - Obafemi - Ayling - Omobamidele

That's assuming Sancho is less than 10 mil. If not, I can go Mbuemo out, and Barnes & Wilson in or something like that (maybe that's better balanced anyway?)

I'm hoping Sancho is 9.5M but probably FPL will go 10M. That team is quite nice, like the Mbuemo pick based on his record and cheaper price vs Toney.

Mbuemo in there for nice fixtures & OOP

U only said "quite nice", why only quite 😉

I didn't want to bring bad luck as I'm not a very good FPL player, hence the "quite nice" 🙂

        Like this one

This is my favourite overall split of funds with 2 premiums and one sub premium slot and I'm waiting to see how Sancho comes in before I play with it again. Big miss for me is Nacho who was head and shoulders and torso and thighs ahead off the 7.5 competition last season. He'll regress a bit of course but .....

Nacho has been in all my drafts bar this one. Seen a lot going around that there could be heavy rotation.

Leicester preseason one to monitor for sure - interested in Castagne and Barnes here even if not from the off - but I'd assume Nacho was safe from Vardy and the new boy for the season start anyway.

He plays far better in a front 2 though, so it does make a bit of a difference imo

You expect Gunn to get minutes? Why not Foster?

I think Gunn is more likely

I think Bruno and Sancho is one too many.

The Smith is giving me Aaron Ramsey 13/14 Pre Season vibes.

Bigger, Leaner, Faster, getting into goal scoring positions, taking shots.

Could get him and get a 4.5 defender with good fixtures in GW2 & 3 to rotate him with (maybe Davies, Lamptey or Ayling) Not much of a risk at 5.5 with high upside.

Struggle to trust Arsenal myself, even if Tierney, Saka etc. are tempting me.

That would be fun to watch. Luckily he's extremely easy to downgrade to if that is the case.

Have an eye on Arsenal assets from gw4. Lets see how they perform
