Be interesting to see how Toney looks against a PL side, especially as West Ham have been putting out some strong sides so far this pre season, although their lack of depth may play a part in that

I'm not convinced due to the lack of our match fitness. I could put Shaw/AWB in for Omo but then I've got solid defenders. Not enough money for Sancho and would need to re-config for Bruno.

Sorry mate, completely missed the fact that you already have £2.5 itb! Serves me right for not reading through the whole thing.

Like everyone else's. Pretty good I guess.

I think I might go 0 United due to their COVID situation and lack of preseason. Leeds first game is probably one of the worst they could have. I have some money in reserve for Sancho if he proves worthwhile.

    Latest draft... thoughts please?

    Sanchez fodder
    TAA Robertson Shaw Targett fodder
    Salah Sancho Mahrez ESR fodder
    Watkins Antonio Toney

Looking at playing Targett (NEW, BRE) when ESR's fixtures are bad in GW2&3.
Also considering starting with Havertz (CRY in GW1) + 0.5m ITB and bring Mahrez in for Norwich GW2, but don't know about booking a transfer...

Try not to book in a transfer.

What's your thoughts on Sanchez vs Martinez as a set and forget?

Your risks are Sancho (match fitness), Mahrez (general rotation) and ESR (although he's got number 10, is he a definite starter), so make sure your fodders are 2 pointers.

      1. SKENG
        • 8 Years

I will always go for 4.5 + fodder GK combo at the start of the season. Don't really see the point of spending extra until WC when we'll have more info to decide if it's actually worth spending 0.5/1 more on GK.

I think Sancho starts, if not he could easily be Son and Targett downgraded to a 4.5.

Looks good. Mahrez is the type of player who will haul against Spurs and then get benched against Norwich in GW2. Don't book that transfer imo

    3. Yordan Letchkov
      • 8 Years

Both ESR (if nailed) and Targett too expensive to be benched imo. I can see some headache incoming...

        3 years, 3 months ago

It might look like that. But then again I'm not sure what's a better 10.5 combo for these 2 spots - Sarr & 4.5 defender (bench)? Plus I really like having a good bench player with covid and all that...

Say Wolves ease Jiminez back or end up playing 2 up top, could Fabio Silva be the benefactor of that?
If so, he could be the sub 6.5 third forward option for people like me who want a big midfield but also aren’t keen on starting the season with a non playing 4.5 or a riskier pick like Josh King, Welbeck or any other 4.5-6 option to start the season with in the 3rd forward spot

Definitely keen to explore this idea more, I don't know if Fabio Silva is the answer though, I can see Jimi wrapping up the points, I'll need to look at his assist stats.

    A or B?

    A)
    Sanchez / Foster
TAA / Digne / Fofana / Holding (or White) / Manquillo
    Salah / Bruno / Buendia / Harrison / Gilmour
    Calvert-Lewin / Cavani / Watkins

    B)
    Sanchez / Foster
    TAA / Shaw / Digne / Fofana / Manquillo
    Salah / Bruno / Raphina / Fornals / Gilmour
    Calvert-Lewin / Antonio / Watkins

    Any comments appreciated, thanks.

I don't think the defensive double-up on Liverpool is a good idea. They looked horrible defensively yesterday. TAA started was absolutely anonymous, Robbo, VVD came on 2nd half but still conceded another 2. 4 overall.

0.5m ITB for Mahrez > Sancho if he hits the ground running.

Had the same thought earlier this morning and created my first BruNO and no United draft.

United have previous with slow starts when the team not fit enough.

Looks good. A day or 2 before deadline day we should hopefully know a bit more about the situation at United.

First 100%. Greenwood hasn't shown anything in preseason.

Does pre-season form matter? Main positive is he had game time in the 3 friendlies

Whilst you are right, my concern is that the rest of the first team won't be match fit and as a whole we won't get the returns. This next game has been called off (Saturday), which just leaves Everton.

If some of the team do have Covid, that's going to sap serious energy and right now we don't know who its affecting. You can guess it's the players who were involved in the group vs Brentford though.

Agree with game time for the rest of the first team and COVID.

Just saying don't pay too much attention to the form and results in the friendlies. More the team setup and players mins (friendlies in general)

    Interchange 4-3-3/3-4-3/3-5-2
    GW1

    GK Sanchez
    DEF TAA, Fofana, Shaw, Digne
    MID Salah, Bruno, Saar
    FWD Antonio, Toney, Watkins

    Subs (Foster), Raphaina, ESR, White(Arsenal)

GW 2 Fofana benched, Raphaina starts

GW 3 Saar benched, Fofana starts

GW 4 Raphaina, Watkins, Fofana benched , White, Saar, ESR start

Just as examples but can see where I'm coming from.

Could cut down on early hits maybe

Start ESR over Fofana GW1, otherwise really like this creative plan; as long you realize you will always need 2-3-4 moves to make changes bc structure changes. Also would consider White down to 4.0 and 0.5 itb for flexibility or reinvested elsewhere

For the first 4 gws, which one of these do you like?

    A. Wilson
    B. Iheanacho
    C. Raphinha

A and B have one 'hard' fixture and C has two realistically. Always a big fan of Wilson because more often than not he only needs one goal for an automatic 9-pointer.

I'm torn between Wilson and Raphinha.
Leaning towards Wilson due to his very high goal involvement and having other good options at his price point.
However it would mean having to play ESR every week.

    Too big in mid?

    Bachmann
    Trent / AWB / Lowton / Veltmann
    Salah / Mane / Son
    Watkins / Wilson / Toney

    Foster / Holding / Bissouma / Brownhill

Looking at similar in a 352 or 442 with one 7.5 striker sacrificed.

I'd probably swap AWB for Digne, whilst the bench is weak it's not actually bad, all of your players are nailed on, especially your front 6.

My only concern is that it's a bit unbalanced, I'd want a better back up midfielder.

    Sanchez Foster
    TAA Targett Fofana Ayling ______

    Antonio Watkins _____

    A) Johnson, Mahrez, Obafemi
    B) Digne, Bissouma, Wilson

Mahrez is a 90% starter imo, but yeah I got your point. B was My original draft anyway. Musn't get blinded by shiny City toys

    3 players I wouldn't touch with a barge pole.
    Sancho
    Mahrez
    Vardy

Going with Mahrez for the first 2.
      Then switching to either Sancho/Son

    Thoughts on this Lot?

    Bachmann
    TAA Robbo Veltman
    Salah Mahrez Havertz Raphinha
    Antonio Watkins Wilson

    Ayling Brownhill. 0.5 ITB

Mahrez and Havertz are just good price points for Sancho/Son depending upon how they look in the initial 2-3 weeks.
Robbo is the cash cow to facilitate Havertz to Son move later. Robbo> Shaw Ideally.

    Hi,
I would appreciate some feedback on my first draft team
    Sanches / Foster
    TAA / Robbo / Shaw / Goode / White
    Salah / Raphinha / Mahrez / Grealish / Gibbs-White
    Toney / Cavani / Watkins.

I'm a little worried about Grealish (2 City players now) & Watkins.
    What do you guys think?
    Cheers.
