How much do we think Ronaldo will be and will he be a mid or forward. I'm thinking:

    13m - Forward

Forward I am sure as he has not played a midfielder for nearly a decade. 12.5m is what most believe on here and I think that would be a fair price.

He'll be a forward but only because of Kane and Lukaku

Kane and Salah were both 12.5m for 242 and 231 point seasons, would make sense to put him in line with them at the same price.

Really don’t think he will be the outright most expensive at age 36.
11.5 like Lukaku or 12-12.5 like Bruno

    Sanchez
    TAA Shaw Livramento
    Salah Bruno Mahrez Benrahma
    Antonio Ings Toney

    (Brownhill, Duffy, Tsimikas)

Roll the FT and suck up the price drops in Mahrez and Toney?

    1. The Count of Monte Cristo
      • 12 Years

Yes I'd roll that team for this week - looks good. Mahrez usually does decently against Arsenal too.

2FT and want to plan ahead but I am not sure what is best...

    A) Toney --> 4.5m FWD
    B) Tsimikas --> Livramento / Duffy
    C) Other?

    Sánchez
    TAA -- Shaw -- Ayling
    Salah -- Fernandes -- Benrahma -- Raphinha -- Barnes
    Antonio -- Ings

    Foster -- Toney -- Tsimikas -- Amartey [2FT + 0.0m ITB]

    1. Bob B
      • 11 Years
      3 years, 2 months ago

Take money out of your bench, I'd have removed Barnes if not for the fixture.
If you're not fussed about DCL, Jimenez, Bamford, Lukaku, Kane or Ronaldo then drop Toney but I'd rather have 3 forwards playable.
Probably better to do B in that sense & then an easy swap of Ings/Bruno out next week.

      1. The Count of Monte Cristo
        • 12 Years
        3 years, 2 months ago

I also would have removed Barnes but giving him this week.

I would like a premium striker in so you're right - moving Toney this week seems pointless. Probably best to move Tsimikas on to Livramento (as already have Sanchez for BRI) and move Ings on next GW. Thanks

Don't want to give you any ideas but you could move Bruno to a 4.5 and play Toney.

Gives you insane flexibility and 2 FT for next week.

    Reposting as bottomed.
A little long post. Please bear with me.

    Would you:

    A. Sell Mane for Son cap (-4) this gw and do Ings to Ronaldo directly if Ronaldo is 11.5m else Ings + Greenwood to Ronaldo + Raphinha/Traore (-4) in gw4.

    OR

    B. Hold Mane this week, cap Antonio and do Mane + Ings to Ronaldo + Raphinha/Traore (-4) in gw4. This option let's me keep Greenwood and also gives me cash to get TAA in for Tsimikas. No Son though.

    Thoughts???

Don't do that on the assumption he's 11.5.

I'd just chill and wait till you've got the facts. No guarantee Son will bang either, despite the article. Could quite easily be Kane who does.

      Assuming you have Salah?

Planning based on Ronaldo being 11.5 is not sound. He can't be priced less than Kane

Mane - Bergwjn & Ing to Kane (C) this week?

Disagree. I think Greenwood goes left, sanche right and Ronnie through the middle.

Pog moves back to play eight with Bruno and then one holiday six.

When rash comes back, that’s the point I reckon Greenwood ceases to be a good pick.

Pogba and Bruno don't work well in the middle together. They both want to advance, which leaves a great big gaping hole. So I disagree with your disagremeent. Hehe

Odegaard 5.5, surely that's underpriced! I know his goals and assists were underwhelming last season but can see him having a much more influential season this year. Thoughts? Could enable a lukaku ronaldo double up

Yeah looks cheap, but so does Saka, ESR etc, even Tierney probs should be 5.5. Think Arsenal prices benefitting high level of negative perception, so depends if you think it's fair or overblown. I'm in the latter camp and looking at them from gw4.

He may want to do well but I'd back Wolves defence over Palace's. Also if United score it could be from variety of players, if West Ham are going to score then its more than likely going to have some Antonio involvement.

Bruno's given penalties to teammates before. I don't think he's really bothered. He just wants to win.

He had a long conversation with Ronaldo to try and convince him to join, so I'm sure he played the penalty chip at some point. Ronaldo wants to break records, that's what motivates him, he'll want pens.

fplsorcerer is caught between taking a risk this week and following his 'dullard' instincts to hold 2fts in this period of high uncertainty

My money is on taking the risk, reasons being...

    1. if you don't and end up WCing next week, you lost a transfer
    2. you can potentially set up so you don't need to WC next week
    3. lots of viable Captain choices so risk is spread
    4. its chaotic situations like this where the big jumps are made
    5. its a game, the 'dullard' way is no fun!

Mods.. tried doing a comparison with alonso vs reece James but there is no data for the latter.

Community.. who would you go with?

James, but that's not based on stats.

There are two reece james in the drop down list. The second one has all the stats you need.

James more likely to play than Alonso, but neither are cemented.

I have Sanchez in goal, so maybe Liv would be best option, not sure I really like his fixtures though.

Barnes playing Norwich - I'd give him a final chance and if he can't do it against them then axe

I can’t see anything wrong with that move, ya know the risks with playing Norwich, but who’s to say he even starts.
I personally moved Barnes on, not even looking like an attacking entity, Rapha much more involved all round for his team.

Does anyone know for sure if Fernandes' Zambian curse will have the same effect as it did on Salah?

    1. Salah’s Sonnet

Fernandes has a curse? Since when?

      1. :

The Zambian Witch Doctor predicted (quite correctly) that Bruno would underwhelm against Southampton but I don't know if his prophecy went beyond that. As you know from what happened to Salah last season, only a fool would have Bruno in his team if a curse lasted for any length of time.

I hope so, but seeing as he’ll start against Newcastle, then I suppose it won’t matter anyway, bound to be added over the next fortnight.

yes but i will try to leave a 12.5 fwd place open for him and i wont get him if he costs 13 though it seems difficult to happen

Ahhh ok, yeah makes sense if not WC’ing at least anyway. Personally I reckon he can’t be any more than 12.5 to begin with.

Ronaldo's arrival will surely have a bit of a ripple effect on other players - is Bruno off penalties, does Greenwood lose his place, is Lingard going to be sold to recoup some money and push Benrahma out the West Ham team, etc. Not sure of the answers to any of those questions, but gameweek 4 is potentially looking like a mess for me at any rate.

    Save the FT here right?

    Sanchez
    TAA - Taylor - D.Sanchez
    Salah - Bruno - Son - Benrahma - Greenwood
    Toney - Antonio
    (Steele - White - Tsimikas - Obefemi)
    (1FT & 0.0itb)

Similar problem here, I can't decide if Toney should go? You have a better mid though than me.

Think Toney might get one more game as he is relatively still cheap with not many better options at his price, also he did have a good game against Arsenal so we shall see this week

Fair, I took him out for Armstrong, for me it is keep Toney and upgrade Barnes to Benrahma, save 1 FT.

          Or Toney-Armstrong, Barnes-Benrahma, use 2x FTs.

        Thx.

Although I’m sort of edging towards Dier.

Not convinced about Leicester’s defence after their West Ham battering.

        Norwich will sense blood.

Dier good at headers into the goal

            Amartey’s last game l fear.

I liked the way Dier was handed the captaincy when Kane was substituted on Thursday.

I’ve gone fairly cheap in defence now to make room the lines of CR7, Kane and Lukaku....

Good point, I didn't notice that on Thurs.

I'm also considering how to get CR7 in.

You've convinced me to stick with Toney for one more week, too, thanks.

Who's more nailed to play in next fixtures from:
