2pm team news: Richarlison starts, Maddison and White miss out

Double Gameweek 36 of Fantasy Premier League (FPL) continues on Sunday with Arsenal v Leeds United, Leicester City v Everton and Norwich City v West Ham United.

All three fixtures kick-off at 14:00 BST, with Manchester City v Newcastle United to follow later on.

The big FPL team news arrives at the King Power Stadium, where James Maddison is absent from the matchday squad.

Brendan Rodgers, meanwhile, freshens up his side following Thursday’s exit to Roma in the Europa Conference League semi-finals, with only five players – Kasper Schmeichel, Jonny Evans, Wesley Fofana, Youri Tielemans and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall – retaining their places.

Everton name an unchanged XI following their 1-0 win over Chelsea in Gameweeek 35. That means Richarlison is fit to start despite suffering from some soreness in his ankle.

At the Emirates, Mikel Arteta makes just the one change, with Cedric Soares coming in at left-back in place of Nuno Tavares, who drops to the bench. That means Ben White misses out once again because of a tight hamstring.

For the visitors, Diego Llorente returns at centre-back in place of Pascal Struijk. That’s one of three changes, with Daniel James and Joe Gelhardt also in for the injured Stuart Dallas and Rodrigo.

Norwich’s only alteration sees Jacob Sorensen replace Mathias Normann.

As for West Ham, they have made two changes from their Europa League defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt, with Lukasz Fabianski and Said Benrahma coming in for Alphonse Areola and Tomas Soucek.

If Everton do stay up, does Lampard deserve any credit or should they have been safe anyway?

We were absolutely woeful for ages before he came in.

Since he’s been at the club, there’s only been a few really bad performances.

More good than bad I’d say.

Hopefully the MEN predicted City line-up with no Laporte isn’t correct!

Predicted City starting XI to face Newcastle United: Ederson; Cancelo, Dias, Ake, Zinchenko; Rodri, De Bruyne, Silva; Grealish, Foden, Mahrez.

Not surprised by Laporte possibly not playing I was prepared for that. However I am surprised if foden plays as I wasn’t expecting a start this game

I had the feeling that George was a Chelsea fan. I think he just means before the end of the season, coming back from injury, with Holding being a reasonable placeholder.

Been a huge Laca fan over the years but I've hardly ever seen a striker look less likely to score goals than him this season. Completely lost all confidence .

Arsenal would not have won the recent tough games without nketiah up top

    1. Deulofail
      • 8 Years
      2 years, 6 months ago

I don't think he lost confidence. He's still been playing well and much better for the team than Auba has been this season. Arsenal absolutely could have won these games with Lacazette. You can't know otherwise. He's been giving his all and setting a could example as a captain. He still has a lot of quality, but not enough pace to spearhead counterattacks. So the onus for scoring is more on others, with Saka and ESR, especially, showing this season that they can deliver in front of goal.

      1. Nightcrawler
        • 5 Years
        2 years, 6 months ago

He has a few good games and the only thing he was really good for was link up play which relied on others producing a good finish. That's not good enough for arsenal

There was no way Laca would have scored the two nketiah goals against Chelsea simply down to his lack of pace

        1. Deulofail
          • 8 Years

I'm not saying he would have scored the same exact goals as Nketiah...

No-one in the top 10k (though 5 did cap Alonso!)
I’m sure there’s an Egyptian team with him cap though alongside triple Brentford defence, Trosssard, Lukaku and Benrahma

I do understand damage limitation, but regarding goal difference Everton are the closest team to Leeds and before the games started Leeds were still 14 goals worse off. Is it really worthwhile taking off Gelhardt when you've gone a man down so you can sit back and try not concede more instead of going for something?
