Draft your 2022/23 FPL team with LiveFPL’s price predictions

Lots of us have been having a crack at guessing the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) starting prices for the 2022/23 season and LiveFPL are no different.

We’re always happy to champion the fine work of site regular Ragabolly, who provides valuable free tools and information for FPL managers throughout the season.

And his latest project gives Fantasy managers the chance to start drafting their 2022/23 squads with a completely free-to-use team planner, complete with predicted starting prices.

You can select your Gameweek 1 squad and even plan for the weeks and months beyond that.

The price predictions come courtesy of a machine-learning algorithm (along with some manual additions), which harnesses historical FPL data.

    They could times all the prices and the budget by 10 and then they would be more representative to real life .... and it would be easy to map old prices to new prices:

    e.g. 13M Salah is 130M Salah

    And we all get 10X more money to spend = 1000M

      Forgive me for being sceptical, but what would be the point? You'd start needing more space on screen to display the prices and it would have a knock-on effect of crowding. Surely it's a lowest common denominator type situation? Maybe I'm being a bit daft?

            If they're right on Rag's prices, I'd feel more confident about the rest. If they're higher or lower, I'd assume Rag's prices in general are too.

      Can't afford him at 10m alongside Son, Håland & Diaz. He's not going to displace either of those 3 for me initially. But I expect he could have a good season at Chelsea & would definitely be on my radar once TV improves

        Exact same boat here. Will have to see how things look once the game is up but I don't feel like dropping any of these 3 from my thoughts, but at the same time I'm sure he would do well at Chelsea so it might just have to be something that's worked on later on.

      Tuchel will just rotate him as well. Better value players in Kulusevski, Saka, Bowen, Mount etc. Diaz probably a better cheaper option as well. And since u won't captain him is he worth getting over Salah, Haaland, Son? It's just a bad price point.

    As I remember, the website must be updated done before prices revealed.
    They are even not updating yet. It took a week since the update to open new game

        It really depends on what you can get with the remaining budget after those 3 players are picked.

        If you're essentially having to put useless FPL players in all your other positions because you've got no money to spend on the remaining 12 slots

      it's possible, but kills your ability to get 3 of the premium defenders (where the real value tends to lie).

      I forced 3 premiums on an early wildcard last season (Salah, Lukaku and Ronaldo), pretty much killed the first half of my season.

            One massively deflected, one with DDG on the floor injured, and a few from range.

            10 goals from ~5 xG on Understat. Almost doubled his xG. Unless he's the next Son Heung-min, that doesn't seem sustainable to me...

              I'm sure we can find a deflected shot in many players' highlight reels.

              Watching the video, I would expect him to score more than 5 of those, and that's excluding all the shots he missed this season. Most are in the box. Otherwise in the D. XG isn't everything. Although he is clearly a good finisher. And opportunistic. Drives and arrives into the box at the right times and shoots when the goalkeeper is injured as he should.

              My only concern would be minutes on the pitch

        And can't even release a new profile area - a whole year after revealing it with screenshots - without about 20 bugs, including some which make it unusable for basic things that we already had like showing your previous comments, (perma-)linking to them, opening the three-dot menu on mobile, etc, plus seemingly switching everyone to a subscription renewal model that they didn't sign up for (and many probably still don't realise). Nobody seems to be taking any pride or responsibility.

        The changes to the comment section were expected years ago, but no progress was ever made.         I don't want to aim at anyone working behind the scenes, because of course, I have no idea what's going on there and what it's like. I assume there is just not enough investment and not enough bandwidth to do anything with. Mostly it'll be about maintenance and raking in the ad/sponsorship money. Complaining has never worked before so I've started to disengage on that front (and a bit with the site), but I've allowed myself to indulge in a rant here, so I apologise to all.           I've literally been away from the site for years and was pretty surprised at the lack of change on my return. I'm happy the site is doing well for the owners and all the contributors who put in their time and experience, but I genuinely thought it would be a much sleeker and user-friendly affair in 2022.

            I take a different view.

            There's an old engineering maxim that goes "If ain't broke, fix it until it is".

            That said, the Members' area has gotten a revamp.

              there are basic features totally missing though. like a forum. in a few weeks time the pages will go so fast on here you can't have a decent discussion. other basic stuff missing: blocking, muting, following. it's still the best fpl content and community out there but there are a lot of basic QoL things missing. I'd guess it's because it's an old wordpress site that is a nightmare to update. If I was being cynical maybe having people constantly refresh articles is good for clicks (for advertising)? on the member's update it took until 2021 to release a mobile friendly version and even then it was broken (I'm not sure if it still is as I just use the old one on desktop).

      Will an app version add anything? You can do most things that apps can do using browser javascript APIs.

      Why have fragmented codebases unless you go the React Native route, and even then, there isn't zero overhead.

      I don't even use the FPL app. I use the web version, even on my phone.

      I see 0 point in this. Depends on the individual players and prices entirely for me. Even a 0.5 more or less than expected for one player, or a player being added to the game or moving teams, could change the whole squad.

    don't like to criticise LiveFPL when it's a great free resource, but the planner is so buggy. In mine White is now 4.7m, and my overall budget is 100.2m. Maybe I should just wait...
