The last few Fantasy Premier League (FPL) seasons have been disrupted by a global pandemic, train strikes, last winter’s World Cup and the death of Queen Elizabeth II. A higher-than-usual number of match postponements lead to an increase in Blank and Double Gameweeks for managers to navigate.
It’s hard to remember what a ‘normal’ campaign looks like, if such a thing even exists.
But there should be a more familiar feel to 2023/24, thanks to international breaks in September, October, November and March alongside the return of a split Gameweek that gives all 20 teams a mini-rest.

WHEN ARE THE BLANK AND DOUBLE GAMEWEEKS?
Blank Gameweek 2
Luton Town and Burnley both blanked in Gameweek 2 due to their meeting at Kenilworth Road being postponed.
Double Gameweek 7
That fixture between Luton and Burnley then took place in Gameweek 7.
Blank Gameweek 18
Manchester City v Brentford was called off because the reigning league champions were at the FIFA Club World Cup.
Double Gameweek 25
Liverpool, Luton Town, Manchester City and Brentford will all have a ‘double’ this week, while the other 16 clubs will be in action just the once as usual.

Blank Gameweek 26
Four teams will blank here due to the EFL Cup final taking place at Wembley on the same weekend.
Chelsea v Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool v Luton Town will be postponed following the progression of Liverpool and Chelsea to the final.

Double Gameweek 28
This will be a double for Bournemouth and Luton Town, while the other 18 sides will play once.
Blank Gameweek 29
There’s a big Blank Gameweek on this FA Cup quarter-final weekend.
Six matches will be rescheduled, making it a popular time to use Free Hit chips.

Double Gameweek 34
Three matches are postponed in Gameweek 34 due to the clash with the FA Cup semi-finals.
However, six other fixtures have been added to the midweek after Gameweek 34.
So, Gameweek 34 is a double for seven clubs, a blank for Spurs and a single Gameweek for the remaining dozen.
Double Gameweek 35
Chelsea v Tottenham Hotspur has now been confirmed as going ahead in Gameweek 35.
