Should do was our main threat with him and Gibbs linking up also we finally got the defensive line sorted between mids and refs.
Looking forward to a competitive season for mid table.

He looks good, sharp and settled nicely into the system towards the end of system proven by his game time . Could be worth as your five mid if he stays at 4.5m if memory serves me right. Scored 3 goals and an assist in last 7 games so not bad for the price one to watch in preseason games.

Exactly that. Good period, and the fact its at the end of the season, means he could carry on that form into next season?
Yeah potentially 5m, but 48 points total, would normally suggest no price hike? I would strongly consider him and 4.5m!!

Leicester coach and management loves Vardy too much. Yes, he is their legend but last season should be Ilheancho's season to explode. Vary past his peak.

I don't think I've read 1000 tweets in my lifetime, let alone a day. Surely no human would read that many. Must be a crackdown on bots.

You don't have to read them, you just have to scroll past them and it counts.

It'll take no time at all to reach 600.

It'll certainly ruin the allure of the transfer window and the fpl launch.

I doubt I ever scroll through 1000 but stuff him, I've gone through my list of accounts I follow and muted over 60%. Any FPL info has been repeated a dozen times on my feed, so losing the majority of accounts doesn't mean missing out on key info.

It means I'll likely see around only 200 tweets per day, which is probably good for my sanity. I'm sure using the app about 60% less than I've been doing is what the idiot wants.

I think they'll do fine without Mac (Groß as 6, Enciso/Pedro 10) but will definitely need a strong replacement for Caicedo. Bit unsure about investing in their defence initially but they should still be great for budget attackers

Has Billy Gilmour been primer to step into Caicedo's shoes?
There are other youngsters whose names I can't remember, but they've been recruited from unheard-of countries and have been developing in their reserves - the Seagull's ultra-successful development method.

Although (I think) he has played alongside Groß, I always thought of Gilmour as playing the same kind of role as him, i.e. (to use FM terms) more deep lying playmaker than ball winning midfielder. His ball recovery stats on fbref are way behind Caicedo - e.g. tackles 7th percentile, interceptions 53rd, compared to Caicedo's 87th & 89th

Hmm, they must have some plan. They only sold Bissouma when they were sure Caicedo could step up. They must have had a replacement in mind for a year. Guess we'll see in pre-season.

      2. Blueberg
        • 9 Years

I will take a punt on what will happen.
Monday, they announce some very minor changes to the main game, along with another game mode that will run separately to the main game. Through the rest of the day they will slowly release a few proces for players from the teams that finished 1st, 6th, 11th and 16th last season, and repeat this pattern for the rest of the week, ending with Luton on Friday afternoon.

Then everyone on here expects the game to open on Friday night. By Saturday morning you have people commenting they haven't slept because they have been sat up pressing F5 on the FPL homepage for the past 16 hours, hoping to beat the rush when the site opens, create an auto select team and save as quickly as humanly possible in order to secure team ID 1,871.

By Sunday it has still not been released and everyone is moaning about FPL towers and how it won't release on a Sunday.

Monday, "it must be 10am". Then 11, 12, 13... getting too late in the day now. Then bang, Andy at Lets talk FPL will announce it is open, his team ID is 2, he feels let down by this.

        Just a guess anyway.

I would say Kamara. Luiz was one of their best performers last season, McGinn is a captain, and Ramsey is a rising star.
Dendoncker and Buendia have been in and out of the team, and I literally forgot that Coutinho played for them last season. Perhaps Emery will change the gameplay and system during the pre-season, but it obviously depends on the signings.

        1. Lovren an elevator
          • 9 Years

I was thinking this. I acknowledge Andy's comment above about the potential of Luiz, but I feel like you, he was clearly one of the top performers, especially towards the end of the season, once Emery really imbedded his philosophy and tactics in. It makes me think going forward, those strong performers (like Watkins and Ramsey as well as Luiz) are nailed and have strong potential next season.
Maybe Tielemans coming in for Kamara enables Luiz to keep up the good work, chipping in with steady attacking returns?

I should have asked opinions on the defence. What with Cash back fit, he's on my radar. And the CB situation gets even more complicated if Pau signs, cos they have Carlos aswell, who seems too good to sit on the bench for another season

Carlos was injured most of the season, wasn't he?
Alex Moreno at 4.5m (per livefpl prediction) would be very much on my radar

              • 9 Years

He was. I feel like he would have been nailed on with Mings if it all worked out for him. Was a bad injury wasn't it.
Yeah I like Moreno alot, just concerned that Digne can rival him. Noone really competes with Cash on the right though. With any luck Cash could be 4.5 too?!

I fancy starting with a Villa defender. If Moreno is 4.5 he's gold, but FPLTeam have him at 5.5m. Mings might be affordable but will Torres threaten his starting place? And if Martinez is grabbed by Chelsea or United, does that undermine any defender? Will Olsen be a 4m starting keeper??!!

Oh and if Carlos is fit and good to go, he could be a heck of a bargain, but does that mean a CB pairing of Carlos and Torres?

Don’t believe the rumoured wages for Rice & Havertz. Ornstein & Fabrizio reported that Havertz was taking a wage cut, his base is now £200k p/w. No idea why only Arsenal players are reported in this way, all players have incentive bonuses etc.

It’s nonsense. The same way that Saka was reported to be earning £300k p/w, his base salary is only £200k p/w. Media Outlets are reporting in this way to get clicks and reactions - clearly it’s working.

How do you know his base salary is £200k and not £330k?

Jesus is our highest earner, David Ornstein reported that Havertz would earn £200k p/w (base)

No disrespect to Mings atall. But that CB pairing feels like a huge improvement on last season. Obviously depends how they adapt to Prem, but the quality is most certainly there

It seems to be gaining momentum - I personally hope Kane stays purely from an FPL point of view.

I felt like it wasn't going to be "game launches now" due to the fact the site would probably crash given the amount of people they roped in to advertise it.
