2. PlanFPL Predictor Games

As part of bringing PlanFPL into the Scout Network, not only can FFS Members blend projected points into the awesome visual transfer planning tool but they can also now take part in two predictor games – each of which will have a monthly prize for the top-ranked player of a £50 Amazon voucher (provided they are already FFS Premium Members before the start of the latest Gameweek; FFS Standard Members get to win a free month of Premium Membership instead).

  • i) Score Predictor: Couldn’t be simpler: just predict the scores for the Premier League games that week and lock them in before kick-off. You’ll get points for each correct score. The person with the most correct selections at the end of each month wins the prize!
  • ii) Line-Up Predictor: Think you can do a better job than our team news maestro Neale and his team of experts? Here’s your chance to prove it! Simply select the line-ups for each game from the drop-downs and you’ll get points for each correct starting player. The person with the most correct selections at the end of each month wins the prize (and our admiration!).

3. £500 FFS YouTube Subscriber Giveaway

Okay, so it’s not a competition per se, but each month we’re going to be doing a random draw of FFScout subscribers on our YouTube channels to give away a Premium Membership (or extension if you’re already a Premium Member) worth £50.

To kick things off in August, we’re going to sweeten the pot with £200 cash on top of the Premium membership. Everyone is eligible, all you need to do is subscribe to the channel and make a comment on a video (keep it clean!) during the relevant month. We’ll then draw a lucky winner!

Existing subscribers are obviously included too – you just need to comment!

HOW TO JOIN

  1. Sign up as a subscriber at Fantasy Football Scout on YouTube
  2. Make a comment in the relevant month
  3. Have a paid or free Membership account with us
  4. Wait and hope! Oh and you may as well enjoy all the awesome video content whilst you’re there!

4. Take the GoalScorer Challenge – win an FFScout Premium Membership monthly!

We also have 10 Premium Memberships (worth c. £500) on offer for the monthly winners of GoalScorer Challenge, the popular game where you pick a different player each week who you think will haul.

It’s harder than it sounds as you can only pick each one each week – and can’t pick them again.

This is open to all Standard or Premium Members. If you win as a Premium Member, we’ll sort you a free extension for next season.
>> Play Goalscorer Challenge here

5. £150 Twitter Promotion

Like Fantasy Football? Like Twitter (or X or whatever it’s called now)? Then all you need to do now is make sure you like and follow our channel, comment and repost this linked Tweet here before Gameweek 1, and you could win yourself £100 plus an FFScout Premium Membership account!

Open to all comers, including existing Twitter followers who comment and retweet.

6. £5,200 of Good Team On Paper Giveaways!

Everyone likes free stuff, and Fantasy managers are no exception – which is why we’ve teamed up with the awesome merch-makers at Good Team on Paper to provide a gamut of giveaways across the season.

First up we have 300 sets of Fantasy beermats (worth £12) to give away to everyone who registers as an FFS Premium Member (or already is one) and fills out this form during August. Everyone gets entered into a draw, so you obviously have a good chance to win!

Then each and every month, we’re going to do a random draw of Premium Members and send one of them cool gift from the GTOP stockpile. You could pay back your FFS Premium Membership subscription in one swoop!

7-11. FFS Cups, UCL, Community Competitions & More (£1,000+)

We also have…

  • Two FFS Cups (with £300 worth of prizes in each) which we’ll launch later in the season

  • £100 for the Scout Picks Community champion (the person who enters and beats our picks up the biggest margin)
  • A £100 prize for the best published Community Article of the season
  • Plus a few more exciting giveaways we’ll be unveiling later

So stay tuned to our various channels and make sure to sign up as Standard or Premium Member in the run-up to Friday’s deadline.

N.B. We also ran a ‘Guess the FPL Price’ competition earlier this summer but you’ve missed your chance there – probably be a bit too easy now!

    Q: Is having 2 x 4m defenders and a 4.5m striker suicide?

If so - who is the best 7m or less midfielder to have from GW1? I have Mitoma already as it stands.

Yes, you are relying on your 10 outfield players to start and perform every week, are you that confident?

no your bench rarely ever gets subbed on

but you'll end up taking hits to accommodate not having to start your bench any GWs due to injuries/serious loss of form

      Mbeumo imo

I'm in a very small FPL draft league, bit of a tester season.

    My midfield is currently:

    Fernandes - Martinelli - Foden - Madison - Mudryk

I have first pick on the waiver and really fancy Luis Diaz who is amazingly still available. I also Nunez and sort of feel with the both of them possibly being rotated that points will still be available even if neither start some weeks.

I know Chelsea were poor last season and Mudryk even worse but the dreamer in me just feels he could find his way this time around. Plus those Chelsea fixtures are tempting and would be a shame to miss out if they come back firing.

    What would you do??

Saka is one the most overhyped assets imo (FPL related not irl ability), so many games he ends up just hogging the right touchline and not spending time in and around the box. Take Watkins over him any day of the week

Odegaard scored 212 and he's in 35% less teams, Martinelli 198 and he's .5 cheaper and in 43% less teams

yeah i can see the angle of Saka being on an upward curve, still though if he's told to keep the width on the touchline it's a struggle to increase attacking returns

Definitely noticed it last year too mate, also teams double up on him. Thats why I think double Arsenal attack is a must of that happens.

no doubt a good option, just don't think he's as essential as some say. maybe pens swings it idk but he had them all last season as well iirc

I'm doing a Haaland-less team this year as a secondary experiment, thoughts?
    Onana (Turner)
    Saliba/Gabriel Estupinan Chilwell (Baldock Beyer)
    Salah Saka Martinelli Rashford (Chukw)
    Kane Watkins

Is this team going to get crushed by Haaland normies?

    1. Bushwhacker

I mean what's your main differentiator? Can it make up for Haaland hat trick hauls with (C)?

I guess Salah and Kane, it requires a more nifty and risky captain allocation across the season, but I figure it might be quite fun, as my primary team will almost certainly captain Haaland ~30-35 games this season, with Salah sprinkled here and there.

a Salah + Kane team with no Haaland wouldn't have even got crushed last year if you stuck to your guns, and I doubt Haaland hits 36 goals or more again this season

I mean 20-25 goals is still an exceptional return in the PL haha, but yes, maybe a bit exaggerated.

plus with expected added injury time across all games this year, Salah & Kane could be getting close to double the minutes of Haaland. My concern though would be Haaland goes to an unprecedented level this year ie 40 + prem goals... it's not impossible

    3. daviyb
      • Fantasy Football Scout Member

not necessarily. I think would do quite well and moreso if you're disciplined in sticking with same captain ie Salah or Harry. The extra $$$ is being dispersed quite well and you've prob a better 'value' squad than most. imho I'd have Odegaard in instead of either Saka or Martinelli, and I'd also try squeeze in Maddison but that's just me

    4. Intinny

I think the main issue is that if Kane doesn't stay then a no Haaland team is highly unlikely to work. If Kane stays I might go without Haaland initially and go back to having fun/pain picking the right captain. Having Haaland captain each week again means it's basically a 10 man team with no buzz from the big captain decision

Ha! Just saw F4L’s post above as I was typing.

Is Saka really that much better of an asset than Martinelli as to justify downgrading Onana to a 4.5 or shaving 0.5 off a defender?

Last season’s stats don’t seem to support it.

I think this season penalties will be more crucial than ever with much more extra time...I think a new penalty taker meta may become even more dominant this season.
Arsenal also came 13th in the penalties awarded rankings last season (4), so variance could very likely swing the other way and they get many more penalties, making Saka much more valuable.
Best solution is to take Martinelli and Saka, both great value picks lol

Trossard's arrival changes things. Martinelli definitely more minutes limited than Saka.

Odegaard to play more minutes but Martinelli probably more explosive

Both outperformed xG quite a bit last season. If it settles and both stop pulling rabbits out of hats it could come down to minutes and Odegaard will play more. I’ve flip flopped between the two all week but currently looking what I can do with the extra 0.5m if I went Martinelli.

Team B is better than Team A, right?

      A)
      Pickford, Turner
      Chilwell, Gab, Estup, Mings, Baldock
      Saka,Rash,BRUNO,Mitoma,MBEMO
      Haaland, WATKINS, Pedro

      B)

      Pickford, Turner
      Chilwell, Gab, Estup, Mings, Baldock
      Saka, Rash, FODEN, Mitoma, KDB
      Haaland, WISSA, Pedro

      Right….?

        Relying on the roulette here.

A is guaranteed minutes and the 3 that you have highlighted are all penalty takers for their teams. I'd argue that A is the better team here.

Well, GW1 kdb doesn't start, foden may or may not start but will definitely get minutes.

I'd choose B if KDB was fit

A is far far more solid and reliable, B is slightly more fun and risky. I have big question marks over Foden with this talk about city going for Paqueta and his timid performances preseason.

No obvious great value in 4.5 range to start the season. Possibly look to pick one from Palace or even Everton first 3 games and see where the best pick is then if you need to move elsewhere. Villa to hard to call yet who will play. Cash a good bet to start with. Pun intended

Villa likely to play a lopsided back 4 with 3 CB’s and one attacking full back so Cash not nailed, particularly when Moreno is back fit.
