The Haaland rise doesn’t make sense saying not many transferred him in is it a case of follow towers fiddling it again.

Understand that still feels strange as percentage rise , I know the last couple of seasons it hasn’t been following the transfers trends .
There’s about ten players above Haaland last night transferred in .

That shouldn't affect price changes that are the effect of 'transfers'.

Only wildcards don't affect price changes, all other transfers do.

It's the equivalent of the beginning of the season for new teams joining in that they can make unlimited 'transfers' before their first deadline. Shouldn't affect prices.

The 15% or so who didn't start with him will probably have wildcarded to get him now.

Wildcard’s don’t make a difference on the transfers so shouldn’t increase his value or am I wrong

A number of players will make transfers during the week which cause price changes but only activate their WC just before deadline.

Yes, the Haaland-less strategy was not not a bad one in a normal year, but when it is almost impossible to spend the cash this year, the gamble back-fired and now it is crazy not to own him, so nearing 100% of current teams!

He was on +97% on FPLstats to be fair

He has only had about 242k net transfers in in total though (GW2 + GW3 + GW4 + GW5 so far) which is tiny relative to his ownership base... instead the 1.6m instead in Haaland owners since GW1 mostly comes from new teams being created

        1. Men in green tights

Just didn’t expect a price rise on him that’s all , also didn’t think new teams had an input on the transfers .
All said done doesn’t make any difference saying almost all of us have him .
          Cheers

They don't, I guess the 242k transfers most have been a threshold to trigger a price rise - mystery of the system!

It does mean it should in theory mean it should be very very unlikely to rise again as there are basically no active teams who will be left to transfer him in (e.g. over half of those 242k came in GW2). This means we can sell him and rebuy him later in the season if needed (e.g. blank GW, injury) without worrying about losing value unlike last year.

As someone who picked sterling over maddi & Foden this GW.

    Thinking this

    Jackson > Jesus

I think Jesus is one of the players that you play no matter the fixture and people will try to transfer as soon as he scores. Haaland + Jesus is essential if both healthy

Was jesus that good last seasons? He had a decent start but dnt remember him being great after that and quite injury prone. I could be wrong though?

Ended the season quite strongly too. There was a narrative that formed when he had a goalless run (with three assists in six matches) before his injury, and many of us were already tripled on Arsenal by the time he returned

Who do you guys think ends up with most points this season between following?
    A) Salah
    B) Son
    C) Bruno
    D) Maddison

    1) Foden
    2) Alvarez

If I swapped Salah out for any of B or C(already have Maddison so I'd replace him with Bowen/Diaby if I got Son) i could afford make my team stronger (at least on paper) eg Johnston to Ederson, Digne to Estupinan, Jackson to Watkins may be Archer to Awoniyi/Alvarez etc

    Thoughts?

    1. lugs
      • 7 Years

      A, D, C, B

spurs are very attacking but i'm not convinced Son will keep his scoring exploits up against the better teams, Maddi should tick along nicely though, so should Bruno, and Salah is Salah

    2. Eze Really?
      • 10 Years
      1 year, 5 days ago

1 clean sheet which was expected to be a low scoring weekend and that was Chelsea of all teams.
Jackson doing a Darwin. Son did the expected if he was given a chance to play down the middle. A lottery on choosing the right mids. N real value in investing in defenders. Fixture swings and champions league after an international break.
I expect a bit of chaos in the coming gameweeks so IMO do not jump to a "new shiny toy' and grind it out.
Having said all that, who is jumping to Son?

it was a stupid experiment anyway, other than the end of last year where his legs seemed to turn to jelly, he's arguably been Arsenals best player over the last couple of years from the heart of midfield where he's immense defensively and at spraying the ball around, luckily Rice is there to fill the void now as a Partey injury usually coincides with a downturn is Arsenals form

I think that he has been a great signing for us and well worth the money. Having Partey, Rice, Jorginho, and Elneny (for cup matches) is the depth we needed for a long time because injuries are inevitable.

It's just sad that his injury record (https://www.transfermarkt.com/thomas-partey/verletzungen/spieler/230784) was so good throughout his career before he joined us. But he was younger and playing in a different league with a slower tempo.

Problem with Raya is you are blocking your route to outfield players.

Yes, I wasn’t going to get him but it might be good for Arsenal defender, eg Saliba

The opinions are divided; some would drop him and start Raya, while others would stick with him. I believe that Ramsdale will get another chance to get it right and to prove himself with a strong performance in a derby. He wasn't at his best so far, and if he has a shocker, the change between the sticks may happen after the international break.

If Jesus and Gabriel start today then that could see the end of the Arteta experiment which may be good for Martinelli as well.

Watkins a very good asset to own, Chelsea and Brighton defences are suspect and after that fixtures are delicious all the way to GW14, only Spurs in GW13 could be difficult.

Your team is in good shape for now, perhaps try squeeze in Alvarez if you have any FT's 🙂

2 FT and 1.5 ITB. Need to ship Onana but which midfielder goes for Son/Maddi?

    A - Rash
    B - Mitoma
    C - Marti

    Onana
    Estu - Chilwell - Ruben
    Saka - Marti - Mitoma - Rashford - Mbuemo
    Haaland - Watkins

    Turner - Archer - Botman - Baldock

Think Ederson still the best for clean sheets although there’s been this worrying trend of letting in a goal per game that was going on last season. Think Onana will be fine (although I notice he has competition in Bayindir). Think Flekken and Johnston will be best budget keepers although Leno will rack up saves and I’m beginning to like Forest as a serious top half team.

Thanks. I have Turner fortunately and wish I played him this week instead of Onana. I already have Ruben in defence and so Flekken could be a good option as I don't have Henry

I have gone with Vicario. Going to just leave him there. Cleanies are a thing of the past but you still want some sort of chance for a clean sheet and save points if no cleanie.

I still believe in the Leno Areola rotation: avoids their worst games, plays either for the save points (and rare CS) they'll get in the easier games. When it's a straight choice between both, I'll consider Areola my main keeper because he's in the better team

Areola is a good shout. West Ham's fixtures turn after two GWs and they look solid at the back with Alvarez looking good as their DM

Alright guys! I mentioned Haaland being a great TC option this gw & well done to those who TCed him. I have myself to blame for not going ahead with the TC Haaland.

I have a feeling he will get injured this season & If/when Salah leaves, this becomes an issue imo.

Anyone considering using the TC in a single gw?

I could be on this for GW8:

          Salah Son Maddison Sterling Mbeumo

Via Saka (fixture swing) to Son (C) vs Luton... Tempting

But I don't think I'll lose Saka (if fit, of course) in GW5. He's even my VC vs Everton

Another mid added to the Chaos. Expected Son to improve down the middle but he had a really good day. 3 shots on target 3 goals. Sustainable I doubt. Maddi a set and forget at his price. Bruno, Saka, Rash will have to make way for him. 2 difficult fixtures coming and you have to pay more for Son with a reality cost of 4 points. BUT YOU NEVER KNOW (SMILE)

Surely we need to see how Johnson changes the current setup. I am holding off Maddison for now, have GW6 and 7 to ponder about it but if Salah happens to decide he is going, will have to make a decision on who to replace him with, probably Maddison...

If I had to choose for next GW I’d go Maddison. Son has had one good match based on weak opposition and suitable position. Maddison was great at Leicester and now has a good team around him he can play against any opposition.

However, be interesting to see who gets penalties

I'm not rushing in for Son at the moment; he done the exact same thing before last season's international break before disappearing into the wilderness again. Maddison's just going to keep picking up the points wee after week and he's still the best pick imo.

Son is more explosive but I think Maddison will continually give you a steady stream of points.

    Hi all,

Random q that I'm hoping for help on:

I've got Forest's Ui-jo as 3rd striker (I know, I know) and he's gone to Norwich on a season long loan.

What the price change situ here? Is his current value (£4.4m) now 'locked' or could it fall further as players transfer him out?

    TIA
