I do like Bowen but Mbeumo has been so good for me that I'd be slightly wary. Bowen has 2 tougher matches after SHU and then his juicy fixture run really begins.

sorry meant just in the article above, about Darwin's all round game improvement + defensive work. In pre-season that was Klopp's main concern, the lack of effective press from Darwin, but he seems to have added that to his game

I was going to go Darwin week 1, but I held off, now reading everything into it, I had to get him in this week, 2nd year for strikers a LFC are usually their year to strike big!! and I think he will now, he is looking better and starting last 2 games, his relationship with Salah just looks awesome, Mac Allister and Szob are just starting to know where he is without looking.

100% That ball by Mac A to Darwin for his goal yesterday was beautiful

Darwin should get a lot of space inbehind against Spurs and Brighton as well to exploit

    RMWCT draft no 1

    Areola / Turner
    Trippier, Botman, Cash, Udogie, Taylor
    Salah, Son, Saka, Bowen, Neto
    Haaland, Alvarez, Archer
    0.0 itb

Annoying that I missed Areola price rise, not too happy with 3.9 Taylor. This was the only way I found to squeeze both Salah and Trippier in. No Maddison since I expect him to be injured.

I did press the button, but my old team is linked. I transferred yesterday Botman and Trippier in for Chilly and "Colly". However, Sterling was still stinking in my team and Maddison being injured made me push the button. Not 100% certain I should have done it, but -8 didn't feel good either.

      Salah | Saka | Maddison | Bowen | Diaby

He overstretched his knee, I saw it. I was surprised that he was able to continue. I was certain enough to ditch him out from my own team, but I have been wrong before. However, I think I have at least 2/3 or 3/4 record of having been right in situations like this. Not going to give wrong advice and getting blame of it though. Educated guess, but he got flagged after that also.

    WC dilemmas:

    (Expensive vs Value)
    Salah vs Son
    Trippier vs Botman
    Bowen vs JWP

Ideally would like all the left hand column...but can't squeeze them all in without too many cheap players everywhere else.

Son, Trippier, Bowen feels like the right combo.

Rank is somewhere in the 4 millions. Worst start to a season ever, only way to catch up would be differential captains but then the gap would just widen. Bit of a pickle when the template is strong

    1. PartyTime
      • 3 Years

Still enough time to catch up but you gotta be more aggressive

    2. F4L

gap from there to top 1 mil must be only be like 35/40 points? Can be caught up in 7/8 GWs easily then you have over 20 GWs to target a decent 5 digit Overall Rank come end of the season.

you dont have to go too off template to catch up, just limit hits and trust in the players you chose so you don't sell them before a haul

I'm in the same boat. My moves cost me like -15 total haha. Factor in my ML having some 100 + Pters I'm feeling your pain. What's your plan, what differentials you gone for?

After the NLD Ange Postecoglou was asked:

"How are Brennan Johnson and James Maddison injury-wise?"

"Not sure with Brennan, it seems like he felt something, I think his hamstring. We'll assess that. Madders and Sonny weren't 100% going into the game but they got through it which suggests that it's nothing serious."

Easy answer is its too risky. And you definitely need a route to bring him back at some point and then you won't have a WC anymore. So I think its only worth going without Haaland if you're going to WC soon after, not if you are WCing now

      1. Alisson WondHaaland

I'm on a WC now and have Haaland, Salah, Son, Maddison, Watkins, Alvarez, Diaby, Cash, Burn and Botman. Only player I feel weird going without is Saka but can't have them all

    3. F4L
      • 10 Years

its a big discussion, but it boils down imo to the fact that Saka/Rashford/Son/Maddison and there are others here that could join this season (Odegaard, Martinelli, Bruno etc) are the main assets/pricepoints this season that have been underpriced imo. These are all players that have in most cases achieved full seasons of 5/5.5+ PPG, which in old FPL would rarely give a price tag of under 10. For me its about maximising owning as many as these players a possible.

Up front the same could be said for Darwin/Jesus/Watkins, all too cheap for players who can do 5+ PPG seasons or have already.

Then its about whether the 7 and under options can bridge the gap and are underpriced themselves, Mbeumo/Diaby/Bowen/Mitoma etc. If you think they can Mo + Haaland is worth it, if not then only 1 premium and focus the rest of the front 7 on 7.5-9mil assets

And thats before we get onto premium defenders, TAA and Tripps arent underpriced so to speak but they are capable of 5 ppg over the course of the season, which realistically is a gain of 80 or so points over all the 5mil and under options for the most part in defence

Another small note is Areola is as a 4mil GK getting 140 points is a big saver, even if its just 0.5mil

Is this because of his 8,9,10 fixtures ?
If it is id be cautious. Mcy are just as likely to score in these games, and Haaland is the man most likely to deliver.

I know Saka is on pens but if you were on a WC now you'd pribably want Salah, Son, Maddison and maybe Watkins over him right? Can't have them all..I'm thinking even a double up with Diaby

Saka shouldnt go anywhere. There are rumours he is struggling with an injury, being overplayed and slightly playing within himself and needs a rest, if that happens then you could potentially sell if his minutes get limited.

Gave a little thought to sacrificing Saka last week but it was mainly a reaction to Nketiah starting over Jesus at Everton. I think it could be viable to lose him for Salah GWs 8-11 given the relative fixtures but at the moment I'm leaning "no" on that too since I don't really like it from a long-term / value perspective. Wouldn't favour Watkins over him

    2ft's to fix this mess.
    What moves would you do..
WC already used (haha) so needs to be mid to long term moves.

    Trippier/Botman both in.
Son in. Salah in- all on the table.

    Areola.
    Chilwell, Cash, Ruben.
    Maddison, Sterling, Bruno, Mbuemo, Saka.
    Alvarez, Haaland.
    Flekken, Kabore, Archer, Udogie.

JWP and Bowen looking like the go to replacement options for Eze this gw. Question is, is Bowen worth the extra 0.9 over JWP?. Currently leaning towards JWP so that I can use the extra to invest in my defence.

I usually have a lot of time for people who don't conform to the status quo, but i'm really struggling with what Vincent Kompany is trying to convey with the suit + t-shirt + baseball cap combo. My best guess is the t-shirt is a nod to former boss Pep's smart casual attire, the suit a nod to another former boss Mancini and the baseball cap is thrown in to signify that he's not quite as clean cut as those two but actually has a little bit of Pulis in him. Any other theories are welcome.

How is this for GW7 WC? Thinking about Mbeumo to Diaby in order to save the transfer. Will look to bring in some Villa assets in the coming GWs.

    - Double Newcastle defence to target the favourable fixtures.
    - Will bench Udogie in GW7 to play Morris for his DGW.
    - 2 Spurs asset to prepare for GW8 fixture turn.
    - Neto and Areola rotate very well from GW7 to GW19.
    - Mbeumo is a question mark but he plays Forest next. Can switch to Diaby for Villa's fixture turn easily.

    Neto Areola
    Estu Botman Trippier Udogie Kabore
    Salah Saka Madders Mbeumo Nkamba
    Haaland Alvarez Morris

I wouldn't be rushing to bring in Diaby before GW10. People going on about Villa's fixture run from GW8 but Wolves A and West ham H are fixtures that we've struggled in recent seasons.

Thanks for the tip! I'm now tempted to do Mbeumo to JWP now. West Ham's fixtures aren't too bad - SHU, NEW, avl, EVE, bre, NFO, bur in the next 7.

    A) - 0.3 in team value and start Wissa
    B) Get Morris and bench Wissa for -4 points

(Jackson -> Morris for -4 one week before wc)

Feel like Sheffield will look to bounce back after that dubbing. And West Ham ain't City either. Can see that game being tight.
