Any updates/comments on Arsenal's Penalty taker situation?

Will Saka be taking penalties or will he wait for entire squad to score one goal each..??

Bit crazy I thought, did he do that because he was not feeling fully fit?

Saka is #1 but will decide in the moment who takes it. Leadership

Saka and odegaard decide between them. Havertz was a one off

Maybe this was a thing decided between whoever Arteta has picked to take penalties and to build confidence with players getting a goal.

Odegaard and Saka the main ones so looks like they will be sharing.

Then it is definitely to build confidence in the team.

It is actually not a bad thing for the players but not great for FPL.

              I am keeping Saka irrespective.

Arteta is trying to be too clever with a lot of things but I actually quite like the rotating penalty takers too, mainly because they are all equally capable and it keeps the opposition goalkeepers guessing who they are actually facing never mind which way they are going.

Why don't they make rule in football like basketball? The fouled player should take the penalty. Would be a nice innovation.

I think arteta mentioned that saka & odegaard will decide between themselves depending on how Saka feels

So yesterday Saka scored, then when 1st penalty was given he decided to give it to odegard (maybe wasn't feeling 100% fit yesterday & was only 1-0 at that point so crucial to get 2nd goal)

Then in 2nd penalty, they were quite comfortable so Saka decided to give it to havertz to boost his confidence

Trying to decide between Trent or Darwin in this week

    1. Lord of Ings

Gotta be Darwin, Klopp mentioned the only reason Darwin was benched because he had a slight knee issue
If he’s fit Darwin is going to be a massive differential

Both great picks tbh but I’m still not sold on Liverpool defensively,
But with the fixtures coming up could see a few cleans for sure
          Go with your gut call!

Even with 9 men on the pitch, LFC were quite good defensively. Matip own goal was unlucky.

Tough choice, Trent slightly more expensive but clean sheet and an attacking return sees your rank smiling.

In form Nunez on the other hand...

I would take a punt on Darwin. Gakpo possibly injured, Jota suspended and Salah and Darwin seem to have a good understanding together.

I'd probably wait before considering either.

Liverpool are still conceding goals and Trent is too expensive to bring in at the moment. Trippier and a clutch of 4.5-5 defenders offer better value than Trent at the moment and the money saved can strengthen the team elsewhere.

With Darwin, I think GW10 is a better entry point for him. Brighton away won't be an easy fixture in GW8 and the GW9 fixture against Everton is the early game right after the international break where Darwin (and Diaz) will be in South America playing the WC qualifiers 3 days before. Liverpool also had the early kick off after the last international break and both Darwin and Diaz were benched for that game.

    Wc draft:-
    Areola Turner
    Porro Cash Lascelles Taylor Burn
    Maddison Son Diaby chukwuemeka Salah
    Haaland Alvarez Darwin
    1M ITB
I can upgrade defence but the plan is to roll in gw 9 if possible and do Maddison to Saka in 1 move in gw10
Should I upgrade my defence? I’m okay playing porro cash every week for the next 5-6 so it’s just that third defender spot basically.

Can afford to be a bit conservative with transfers (or a hit) leading into next week.

    Only 0.3m ITB (1 FT)

    Leno
    Trippier Cash Udogie
    Salah Saka Maddison Diaby JWP
    Haaland Alvarez
    Areola // Archer Botman* Kabore

Worth getting in Son, or wait a week? Only real routes are Saka/Diaby out, unless selling Haaland or Salah.

      1 year, 2 months ago

Hah I'm in the same boat, rolled FT this week and was hoping to roll one of them into the IB, but could similarly see myself potentially needing a hit this week.

I think you're fine unless Diaby is out for a bit, then maybe need to deal with him. Would you really want to get rid of Diaby or Saka for Son if they're fit though? I know he's doing well and has a nice run now but they're both doing well too. Saka might make more sense mind given less of a workaround is needed

Son clearly has the superior fixtures now, but 10-15 still very good for Saka. He'd also the highest scoring mid... Who has also given away three penalties!

And yes you're right if Diaby is fit I'd prefer to keep.

IF Turner keeps his spot, don't mind Johnstone. It's just that the fixtures get harder all through December for him. Okay stretch beforehand though.

I do prefer Raya though. Better team, better fixtures overall.

I think Areola is totally fine but better in rotation with Leno or Neto.

Yeah your are right, if considering Raya, should also go through Areola and 4.5 GKs combos as price wise it will be the same

      I'd just get Raya.

Arsenal often keep clean sheets away from home.

xGA looks good for Arsenal, and probably they are more lucky than City in not conceding

Hi all. I know it's ealy, but I want to sell Chil before his price drops again. Any thoughts much apprciated.

    Ederson
    Cash Udogie Scharr
    Saka Son Maddison Bowen Mbuemo
    Watkins Haaland

    (Davies/Chilwell*/Botman*/Muniz)

    A) Chil > Burn
    B) Chil > Coufal
    C) Ederson + Chill > Areola + Trip for -4

Unfortunatley can't afford Trip by selling Chil and Bot. I'l keep Bot one more week

    A or B?

    A.Bowen (NEW,avl,EVE,bre,NFO): xGI 4,40. 22 shots, 5 chances created.

    B. Diaby (wol,WHU,lut,NFO,ful): xGI 2,60. 18 shots, 11 chances created.

I’ve got Watkins if it’s of any importance…

Really tempted with the following moves here…..

Morris, Rashford and Estupinan to Darwin, Diaz and a max 4.5 defender…..

My other defenders are.. Cash, Udogie, Trippier and Kabore

    Best 4.5 option here?…

    A- Konsa
    B- Burn
    C- Coufal
    D- Guehi

    Cheers everyone!!

On a non-FPL related matter has anyone else seen about this Dutch game that got abandoned because the keeper got knocked unconscious after colliding with an opponents knee? Feels like a very strange decision, that happens in Rugby all the time. Obviously not nice to see but I can't understand the abandonment of a game over it, get him off and treated and get another keeper on.

Didn't see it but seems a bit strange, must have been extremely bad for it to have forced that

I totally agree with you. What about the fans who paid well earned money and travelled to the game? I bet they don't get their money back! The virtue signalling players made the excuse football took 2nd place when they were worried about the health of their player, but what if a fan has a heart attack and dies. They don't care! Hypocrites, the lot of them. The fans are never considered! There was only 6 minutes to play. The game should have been played out for respect the fans.

Rugby players do not get knocked unconscious all the time. There's a huge difference in a head bang and possible concussion and being knocked unconscious. Head injuries are more common in rugby than soccer alright but it's a collision sport, soccer is a contact sport. Rugby has a strict HIA protocol. Not sure that soccer does.

Rugby wouldn't abandon a game for a player being knocked out though?

Probably not. Depends on the severity of injury but collision injuries more common than soccer. But they have steps to take if a player has a head injury. Dunno if soccer does and might vary from country to country. Seems some players were more concerned about the players safety than finishing the game.

He may have unfortunately died but hopefully not.
I'm not a doctor but it must have been awfully bad for the adandonement except for the funeral directors and all that.

I picked up a guy guy from the pavement the other day prostrate, I thought he was dead, but thankfully not.

No he's really not. He's annoying not to own because he always finds a way with a lucky pen or just sheer brilliance but the wildcard teams I've seen on here to get Salah are very restricted and not that great.

He is if you captain him often to challenge Haaland, otherwise don’t think so

As long as cheaper alternatives are tracking his points, he's not necessarily worth it. depending on where you've spent the money and if your picks are scoring, you will have a different opinion. If he starts hauling in the upcoming favourable fixtures then maybe he will be become a bit more attractive to own, a bit like Trippier and his recent hauls.

Yeah even though I got him on WC this week, he realy restricts your options by taking up so much of the budget
I got rid of Saka for him but if kept Saka with that extra 4 mil I could have had tripper instead of botman & Watkins instead alvarez.

Got 0.8 ITB so can't react to much now apart from upgrading defenders

He's not needed for captaincy either when Haaland can be challenged.

When Salah plays Luton Haaland has Bou (h)

        Son Vs Luton
        Saka Vs bou

I was just playing around with my team to see if it's worth hitting the wildcard button and something really unexpected has creeped into my mind while doing so. With Alvarez now stealing a lot of Haaland's thunder, is it worth going with him as your sole City forward? Haaland isn't quite returning enough at the moment to justify his price tag so would it be better to spread that 14.1m elsewhere?

Does Gakpo injury means more minutes for Darwin?

Or will Darwin still has his minutes shared with Jota as he has been carrying a knee issue from international break.?

    Klopp quotes.

"Darwin pretty much ruled himself out a little bit. He brought something with him from the international break a little bit a bone thing around the knee sometimes,” the manager explained.

“It’s not massive but sometimes more painful than other times. So, yesterday [Friday] at training, he said it’s not possible, so we took him here overnight

The doctor said that it will improve again and it has improved so he’s ready to come from the bench but he’s not ready to start and that’s the reason.
