    Haaland Alvarez Watkins
Subs: 3.9 GK Taylor Lascelles Chuk 0.0m ITB

Bench is weak I know, but I do really like the first XI

Concern over squad depth coming up to Christmas rotation season. You will do well next few weeks but may suffer in medium term if weak bench, especially when Botman back soon.

far too punty and short-term focued and 0 ITB I don't see where you go on the likes of Tsimikas, Lascelles etc when they aren't starters and you're left with the Burnley lads etc. It screams to me wildcard again when the 2nd one kicks in

I like it! But I don't love it. I am going without Big Man Haaland, myself, so I'd sell him down to Ferguson/Pedro and bring in Martinelli and Mitoma... or maybe Bowen if you can afford it.

I'd expect the first 3 to outscore the second 3 most weeks. So it boils down to capping Salah, cos if he hauls and you cap him, it's probably worth it.

I feel like the longer I go without Salah the harder this season is going to be to recover. This seems like the only way of doing it.

Soucek/Palmer maybe? I've had Douglas Luiz for the past few weeks but if you don't have him already not worth getting him in for the long run.

RP to add to crazy hour…

With the rise to form of Salah it’s really tempting to go no Haaland. His massive cost, plus ‘poor’ form without KDB, makes the possibility of spreading the value around the squad, which is especially important over the heavy Xmas schedule, quite tempting. Can then bring him back in January wildcard for second half of season with all the DGW where we surely will need him generally and as a TC option.

    Transfers I can do with his value;

    - Haaland to Watkins,
    - Wissa to Isak,
    - Gordon to Son
    - Baldock to White
    - 4.0 to Romero

    Would leave me with;

    Sanchez, Areola,
    Trippier, White, Romero, Cash, Botman,
    Salah, Saka, Son, Maddison, Palmer,
    Watkins, Alvarez, Isak,

Would certainly leave me with benching headaches but wow the value is spread so well.

Or, don’t be silly, keep Haaland, you will regret Immediately when he scores a Harry and you don’t have…

Thing is its great having all that value but unless you're on bench boost you're only getting 11 of those players scoring points. I might be in the minority here but Haaland or no Haaland I prefer looking at my bench and seeing a string of 1's and 2's than knowing I've potentially missed out. I've seen the word fun banded about a lot, for me there's nothing fun about stressing who to bench from that team and you will get it wrong a lot.

      Darwin over Isak

If Haaland fluff his lines and Watkins hauls so be it, but i am keeping for the next two.

I may however consider GW12-16 without Haaland and bring him back with or without a WC GW16

Not having Haaland for the next too scares me more than not having Watkins, and hope Diaby gets a bit more luck. and Haaland could become Darwin/Bowen for a bit with cash in the bank to sell Darwin back to Haaland

Yeah, I´ve been tying myself in knots over this one, and I reckon I`ll keep Haaland and stay no-Mo..
Mind you, injuries this week would put the cat among the pigeons..
And the teams I´ve seen with both are too light in midfield for my liking (except Pundit of Pundits, who seems to have outrageous TV)
It depends alot on (C), and I have Watkins. As a Bmth fan, risking no (H)aaland vs Bmth gw11 clinches the deal

I believe Isak just went off with an injury, 10 minutes in to today's match against Dortmund. I sold Haaland two weeks ago and went from 2.8M to 510K. Fortune favours the brave!

Salah didn't play well in last match and could easily have blanked. Everton to 10 men, penalty and counter attack during last minutes. These things do happen, but luck and form are two different things. What if MCI had gotten those two consecutive pens? Many would be lolling at Salah cappers and Haaland sellers(?)

What's everyone's thoughts on the 5 sub rule? A rule which I believe was implemented because of Covid? But is still in affect.

5 subs is basically an option to switch out half a team when you have a 2-0 lead. It seems like Ange is going to be doing this a lot.

From an FPL perspective its terrible for us, but is it bad or good for football in reality?

Regardless of how it affects me in FPL, I think its kind of lame because these managers are saying I'm happy with a 2-0 win, I don't need to win 5-0. That surely cant be good for the game. I do however appreciate there is a lot of fixtures and pointless competitions.

The top premier clubs wanted it, but the bottom half didn't want it.

It helps the players and coaching for the big clubs who can afford better squads and play in more competitions. I don't see a fall in injuries though. Smaller clubs with smaller squad are at a disadvantage as with 25 players you can even rotate a bench.

good point, its a big advantage for clubs with good squads. I don't think it will last forever.

Any suggestions how I get Arsenal players into this team without the obvious Son or Salah sell ....
    (Or worth the risk without....)

    Flekken, Turner
    Schar, Cash, Udogie, Tsimikas, Gusto
    Salah, Son, Bowen, Andreas, Nakamba
    Haaland, Alvarez, Watkins

Sell Son or wait until you sell Watkins, I cant get Watkins (and have Son) and a Arsenal attacker either

Getting arsenal defender seems straightforward.... I guess Schar or Udogie to Gabriel...

It's more the no Saka that is worrying but that wud have to be selling Son or downgrade Watkins which I don't really want to do.... Can't have it all!

You probably don't. We have pretty similar teams, but I have Trippier over Schar and can use him as cash cow. Avl fixtures are turning sour soon, so Watkins out is a possibility. Or Haaland out after Bou. Save a transfer next week to have possibility yo do it.

Udogie to Gabriel if Udogie is not fit to start.

Will wait, but what do you think of:

    Maddison + Morris -> Mitoma + Alvarez (-4)?

    Gives me:

    Sanchez
    TAA - Trippier - Udogie
    Salah - Son - Mbeumo - Mitoma - Palmer
    Haaland (C) - Alvarez

    (Turner, Archer, Al-Dakhil, Kaboré)

Not mad, but he could be team value risk. Google out if there are news and he actually is back soon. He might also be eased in, so not certain starter in the first match.

i think there is GW16/19 is still a good time to WC.

    Especially with AFCON!

    2FT 0.1ITB

    Johnstone (Turner)
    Cash, Porro, Saliba (Kabore, Gusto)
    Salah, Son, Maddison Diaby (Eze)
    Haaland, Alvarez, Pedro

    A. Son, Eze, Pedro to Saka, Bowen Archer -4 (0.5m ITB)
    B. Son, Eze, to Saka, Mitoma (0.5 ITB)
    C. Maddison, Eze, Pedro, Saka, Mitoma, 4.3 striker -4 (0.0)
D Sell Haaland & Get Watkins, Saka , Bowen/Mitoma, and the bloody hell who I want and WC GW16
E Keep Haaland (forget Watkins) until GW12, and if he is still struggling for form, then go to Darwin and any of the above

I cant get Watkins and then Marinelli or Saka for GW10 when Villa are away to Forest and keep Son until GW13, so i am moving away from that idea, and i am more scared of not having Haaland than Watkins. Might get lucky with Diaby 🙂

SO going off D, but interested in people thoughts?

I had a terrible start to the season with a lot of injuries happening to my players so I decided to go different before everyone else got wind of the no Haaland strategy.
Look at top 10 fpl managers, how many have Haaland?
