For how long, I am in-out ing the 5th midfielder. Adingra looks good fixture wise albeit risk of rotation. Gordon and Palmer for slightly later GWs.

    1FT, £0.1 ITB, thoughts?

    Areola - Turner
    Cash - Udogie - Gabriel - Tsimikas - Kabore
    Salah - Son - Saka - Maddison - Diaby
    Haaland - Alvarez - Archer

Gabriel’s burned me all season! Gabriel to Guehi?

Have you just got Gabriel in? I know it's painful seeing him on the bench this week but you likely bought him for a run of games so I would keep him.

He was just rested today given the number of games he's played and the opponent in my opinion.

Udogie to Guehi I prefer. Think Udogie will be back from injuries but not a huge fan of Spurs fixtures defensively for the next while

Just a reminder to everyone: as the clocks changed in Britain this morning, the televised games will be an hour earlier.

Mbeumo now being brought in (or back in in many cases, no doubt) by FPL managers, according to FPL Stats, with more than half of the GW left to go.

The early season knee-jerking seems to go on longer every year. Suppose it’s a function of more managers than ever playing FPL.

absolutely, just part of the game and like you say more mangers mean more people who play the game in a reactive way. each to their own.

it's a fine balance. Histroically i've been on the price movements and would make early transfers to catch rises, but this season much more reserved which means I do have a weak TV.

I think generally though there always tends to be another way to get more or less what you want so it's worth waiting, especially when cup games mid week. Occasionally have to make a judgement call if will be priced out completely, but overall I think you gain more by waiting.

Isn't it just playing the fixtures in this case? Knee-jerk seems a tad harsh (I haven't owned him all season so no bias here). I mean, Mbeumo v che/liv/ARS doesn't really look as good as Mitoma v eve/SHU etc..? I think the real question is whether "playing the fixtures" is so straightforward for a side like Brentford who tend to pretty competitive against the bigger sides rather than smashing weaker ones..?

Super skinny bench so hoping Lamptey is involved in some capacity today but early thoughts are to take out Neto next week for a 3.9 goalie to free up funds to upgrade E. Anderson the following week.

    Areola
    Porro / Cash / Tsimikas
    Bowen / Saka / Son / Salah
    Watkins / Archer / Haaland

    Neto / Lamptey / Burn / E. Anderson

        yep that's true.

I obviously need to get rid of Neto and think that if I put that money into say Adingra it means I can play him over Archer most weeks, plus have a route to Palmer later on. Obviously Adingra carries playing risk aswell

Not sure it's worth having one playing keeper though ... could get Turner.

You really don't want to be starting Archer so maybe do it properly and down grade Porro or Bowen and get a decent 5th mid to rotate as your 11th starter ?

Sort out the keeper out later

yeah fair points. Annoyingly I had Turner but took him out on WC as thought he'd lose his place.

Can't seem to get up to a decent mid which are in and around the 6m mark, even with downgrading Porro to a 4.5 defender. Can only get to about 5.5 max

So my interpretation of Neale's explanation on Gabriel is Arteta has the hump because Gabriel won't pull out of Brazil games with fictional injuries but Saliba is happy to do so for France. Saliba has played every minute of league and champions league so far.

Feeling smug that I benched him this week 😀

Still, I wouldn't call it a mistake. I see some are turned off by the fixtures but up to GW19 there's only ARS/tot that I don't fancy, and even then I don't really mind playing him next week at home. Even though I've stretched my budget a bit with Trent, I still see Trippier as more of a long-term hold (especially since locked in at 6.5) whereas Trent is just for 6-7 GWs

      1. Yozzer
        • 7 Years

        Good call with the benching.

They are a different beast at home for sure. It was a 50 50 for me . Could have kept Cash and gone Mitoma over Adingra so let's see how much it hurts me . I had .3 value tied up in Trips and that helped my decision. Just hope I am not sunk by gw19. Patience in this game is rewarded less and less as the years go by

Good attackers will give a FPL attacking return one game in every 2.5 games, Tripper will do that and get the clean sheet every now and then and mop up the bonus points.

It was a big fat zero this week but he is one of those players you just hold and start every game and take whatever you get from him, imho.
