Already have 3 spurs and Salah, but no Haaland. FH, WC & BB left. Feels a waste to wc when will still be wanting 3 spurs anyway with fh 34 in mind. What to do..

Could the best thing about this game be that it may reduce the amount of clowns and bot teams entering a new team every week in the main fpl game?

Banked my challenge squad. With unlimited funds I've splashed the cash on triple Fulham.

Got a bad feeling it's tailor-made for clowns and bots teams 🙁

A few questions to be cleared before I decide WC31 or 33(BB34 and FH37 the plan).

    1. Can I survive 31 and 32 without Haaland?
    2. Can I survive 31 without Saka?
    3. Is a couple hits between now and GW 31 worth it to bring in Salah, Saka(sell and bring back next GW) and Haaland if WCing in 33?

There are a few potential huge hauls in there vs Villa, Palace and Luton. Could be worth the hits if you are set on WC33.

      1) I asked Haaland and he said you would die because he will score loads of points
      2) Saka said he will probably score a pen
      3) probably not I'd just WC now or next week

Great...so now we're gonna have questions on this forum about fpl challenge. Rather it didn't exist to be honest I spend enough time on regular fpl as it is. And I don't like playing something without fully commiting to it but the fact that you can change your team right before they start means people actively checking and on it will have an advantage. Hopefully I'm not alone on this

I know some who won’t be interested, in fact some in my ml think a transfer and cap pick each week is enough !

I was in the Top 100K all season until a disastrous wildcard played due an injury crisis in GW25 - nearly all my new picks also got injured that week. I've now dropped out of sight. So I'm quite positive about a new challenge as I half give up on my main team.

Having to constantly check my team up until the start doesn’t sound like much fun. The game is for people that have a whole Saturday free and can look at their phone or laptop all day

Yes I agree, it’s just I hope they don’t take ideas from it and bring them into FPL, because I think the game is already perfect as it is. The only thing they should change is their inconsistencies about what assists they add 😀

I mean if you want to do that then sure but you can also just not do that. Chances are you'll manage the same as the majority of the rest unless you're always picking players that play once every 10 games

        1. Andy_Social

I'm sure this first unlimited funds squad will have a lot of very heavily-owned players and even identical starting line-ups. I doubt very many will start with 3 Fulham though, which is what I've got right now.
But the other thing is that since you can dip in, dip out and not necessarily enter a team every GW, I expect a lot of people to play it less seriously than the main game, and maybe punt on a few differentials they wouldn't otherwise do.
I see it as quite a fun sidegame to compliment the main one.

To be honest I feel like I'd nearly like to do it this way each week with my usual MLs sometimes. Feel like I'd actually get more enjoyment out of the game each week in this manner

Better to have a team of 8/9 doublers in 34 and FH 37

FH34 and build towards 11 doublers + BB in 37?

Option 2 has bigger upside but carries huge risk in that all transfers would have to count, no injuries or rotation

I am not sure if 11 doublers are needed gw37 for BB. Salah to Bruno/Rash and Muniz out solves attackers and is probably worth -4 unless another hit is needed to get Salah in. But who are your defenders going to be?

Still have WC, BB and FH. How's this strategy?

GW30 - Roll FT and do Son (c) v LUT
    GW31 - Son > Salah
    GW33 & 34 - WC & BB
    GW37 - FH

    Areola
    Gabriel - Gusto - Konsa
    Son (c) - Rich - Foden - Palmer - Saka
    Haaland - Watkins

    Raya - Branthwaite - Morris - Doughty

Both teams concede for fun and so only really interested in Palmer & Son and can try and dead end them in before FH'ing in 37

Cheers. I'm leaning towards FH34 and WC35 which will allow me to BB in 37 and plan for any doubles in 36. GW38 has always been a lotto for me and so think I'd rather use my chips before we reach that point.

I probably end up doing the same. But there are sometimes huge lotto scores on gw38. I am considering weaker BB 37 and playing lotto with WC38. I have already 3 Spurs + 2x Che, so I don't need to WC them in gw35.

Alexander Isak on his reoccurring groin injury:

"It has actually been difficult. Precisely because it has been difficult to get into your flow or when you have just done it, you have had a setback. It’s almost a little nicer to know that you’re away for a longer time than these small hiccups."

"You do your rehab and then you get injured again. It has been a bit hard. Now I have been healthy and have felt good, hopefully I can stay healthy too."

"I have had problems with my groin, it has been a bit recurring. The situation in the team has not helped with the availability of players either."

"Many times, I’ve come back from an injury and have had to play three games in a week, some 90 minutes, and that’s not optimal. But at the same time, we have had important games."

I've joined the FFS ML with the code above. It will be for the rest of the season if you take it (semi)seriously. I guess if you think you'll only enter a team 2 or 3 times between now and the end of the season, a ML would be a bit pointless.

All content creators seem to agree on Haaland, Isaak and Darwin for a GW30/31 WC. Isaak just seems like a risk to me with injuries and he doesn't seem to haul. And Darwin (let's not go there fully) will not start every game thats a fact. I think Solanke or even Semenyo might be better options no?

I agree. Isak is a fantastic player, top quality when fit but not sure he's really demonstrated he's worthy of a WC/long-term pick... Darwin is exciting and frustrating as a pick, you just never know what you might get... but with Jota returning in a couple of weeks, plus on only a couple yellows short of suspension, not sure hes a go to... there are others to go for as you mention, that's for sure.

    5. Nate(U)dog(ie)
      • 4 Years

My biggest issue with Isak as a pick right now is that Newcastle don't have much to play for unless they want Europa League or the Conference League. Their season has derailed and they're unreliable away from home (their home and away form is actually perfectly mirrored, 9W 2D 3L at home, 3W 2D 9L away). Looking at the comments Tony has posted above from Isak himself I wouldn't be too surprised for Howe to have his eye on next season and trying to ensure players like him are fully fit going into it after recurring issues like this

What's your team? If you played FH29 and don't have too many Spurs + Che assets, it's easily dead end 34BB and WC35. The way fixtures are now is annoyingly extremely easy for FH29 teams.

    Current GW30 WC Draft;

    Petrovic
    Bradley Zabarnyi Gusto
    Son Palmer Salah Gordon
    Haaland Watkins Muniz

    Raya, Ait Nouri, Gabriel, Saka

    GW31 - Roll
    GW32 - Gordon to Eze
    GW33 - Son to Garnacho
GW34 - Bradley to VVD, Muniz to Hojlund (8 Doublers)
GW35 - Pool Players to Spurs (5 Doublers if Spurs & Che double)

Was initially planning GW35 WC to plan for GW37 double but theres so much risk with what teams have left to play for and rotations etc.

This WC30 gets me Salah a week earlier than planned, improves my defence for the next 2 weeks and i can avoid taking any hits (injury dependent) for the next few weeks, fingers crossed!

Only player im concerned about going without is Foden, however Pep Roulette is likely to be at its peak over the next 4 GWS right....trying to convince myself!

Any other thoughts as to why i shouldnt wildcard would be much appreciated!

You realize Man United are not doubling in 34?

Haaland, Watkins, Hojlund, Palmer, and Garnacho have no double, so only 3 of your attackers doubling (Eze, Saka, and Salah).

I know united dont double, my single GW players would be Garnacho, Hjolund & Watkins.

Would either play all 8 doublers or just drop Zab to the bench to play that lad with the long hair for city 😉

I could potentially, just planned it out and likely be a -12 from GW30 to GW34 to have 7 doublers in 34 with Haaland, Watkins, Garnacho & Hojlund.

Is the main driver having Salah in GW30? Without seeing your current team, i'm making assumptions but I just don't see what the real driver is to following the plan now..

you'll have 5FTs between now and GW34... can't you do most of these moves anyway?

I'm considering a wildcard this week. Salah in will involve selling two of Foden/Ode/Watkins. Can't decide what the best move is. Can also ship Turner, Senesi and Doughty. I'm seriously considering taking a gamble on no Watkins and going 3-5-2. Then no longer have a Palmer benching headache, and Salah/Son/Saka/Ode/Palmer mid for these nice fixtures. Gets me 10 doublers ready for DGW34 too if Kelleher holds his place.

I agree but Salah v Brighton & SU, Son v Luton, Saka & Ode v Luton... Can't have them all.

The thing for me is Salah is still only 24% owned. And Watkins has no doubles and will never be captained.

I like the new format. I know many will say half the challenge is gone without the budget restrains and FTs but I reckon that it will sort out those that just follow the crowd (which isn't going to get you very far in that format), from those who can spot true GW differentials before they have become apparent to the masses.

I prefer it to have a season long element to it as well though.

I welcome these new games that I can ignore. Hopefully it will keep fpl towers from messing with the real game.

Can we all agree on an automatic ban for people spamming Fantasy Challenge RMT's? 🙂

Doubt we will get many but if we do it will be a short term fad. FPL draft posts were common place on here when it started but they are a rarity now.

Who’s best strikers on WC30 if you plan playing FH34 ?
Currently got Haa Darwin and Watkins but is Watkins to someone else better ?

Watkins away to City and Arsenal in 31 and 33 respectively. Yes there are other options to consider imo

So it's just FanTeam daily play, but prices haven't been changed to reflect that, and instead of winning hundreds of pounds I can win a keyring that they probably won't send to me anyway unless I harass them on social media.

    Hard pass.

Can I make changes to the 15 man squad after first deadline is passed?

For example, if I pick KDB along with 14 other players, can I swap KDB out for another player who is not already in my squad

Or is it more like I can make changes to starting XI only from my bench?

My assumption is that it is like fantasy Champions league. You pick your 15 man squad for the week, and after each gameday you can only make subs/switches from your bench. No transfers until after the game week ends.

I could be wrong but that is how I read it.

      Sounds like you can

Changes to your team (e.g. starting team, transfers, captain changes) can be made at any time during the Gameweek, but once a player's club has started their first match of the Gameweek, they will be locked from any changes.

Set on WC30 FH34 BB37. I'd like to share thoughts with people on similar strategy. Let me begin with my draft. Quite set on the attacking players, defense and keepers not so much.

      Kelleher Dubravka
      Gabriel Porro Gusto Bradley Lascelles
      Salah Son Saka Palmer Garnacho
      Haaland Isak Jackson

Kelleher: get all games until Allisson back / DGW37, transfer for doubling keeper.

Dubravka: Pope return timeline is very unclear, could get the double, transfer if needed

Bradley: get BHA + SHU and revisit. Probably transfer for tot/MCI def

      Saka: transfer for Foden GW33

Personally with your keepers and Bradley there is too much uncertainty....
        But can't fault it!

How does this Wildcard look? Fh34. Bb37

I have 6 players who do not double in 37. Will remove most of them. Pickford has Sheffield in 37 and happy to keep salah

By not having petrovic I'm also keeping door open to jackson....

    Onana pickford
    Gabriel aitnouri udogie gusto lascelles
    Salah son saka palmer garnacho
    Haaland darwin isak

Ha, look above. Very similar to mine. Looks very good.

I'm going Jackson over Nunez right away as I think their returns will be close before GW34.

Was looking at the same pair of keepers for Dgw37 but can't afford that atm.

Yeah. Could consider jackson instead of nunez or isak perhaps

Jackson has 9 ycs....dunno when the cut off is

Main issue is 2nd keeper if I don't want petrovic

5th defender and 3rd striker. Cheers!

Fantasy Challenge mini leagues make no sense whatsoever. What's the point of a league if it only counts for one game at a time?

The whole concept of a league is that there's progression.
