Netherlands v England team news: Guehi + Malen come in

Wednesday night brings the second lot of European Championship semi-final team news, this time from the Netherlands and England. It kicks off at 20:00 BST in Dortmund.

With a final versus Spain up for grabs, which historical clash between these nations will it honour: England’s glorious 4-1 masterclass at Euro 96, or Ronald Koeman controversially breaking hearts in the World Cup 1994 qualifier?

Then again, based on Gareth Southgate’s side so far, maybe it’ll be more like Italia 90’s goalless draw!

Both sides make just one change from their weekend wins. For England, Marc Guehi (€4.7m) returns from suspension to replace Ezri Konsa (€4.4m) in the back three. That means there’s still no Luke Shaw (€5.0m) start.

Highly-selected assets Jude Bellingham (€9.5m), Virgil van Dijk (€6.0m), Harry Kane (€11.0m), Cody Gakpo (€7.8m) and Jordan Pickford (€5.0m) all feature in the line-ups.

Dutch attacker Steven Bergwijn (€6.9m) was substituted at half-time against both Romania and Turkey. So it’s no surprise to now see him completely step aside for Donyall Malen (€6.9m).

Wout Weghorst (€6.4m) will have to make his impact from the bench, again.

      tbh think it was laziness and overconfidence in the groups, but the late goal against Slovakia was the moment that gave them the confidence, the players started to believe at that point

      Been saying it since the start of the tournament, play Watkins and bin Kane or at least introduce Watkins early on. He's had a mad PL season. Double digits in goals and assists, connects well, goes wide, quick shot and these are his first Euro mins. Travesty.

      At least Southgate realised it. Watkins, Saka and Foden can trouble teams easy with flowing football and reasonable intent to attack.

          You don't have to act like forum police when a member says they made a comment about something. I read members mentioning they made a prediction or analysis before the game and I believe the member without asking for evidence. No one is winning anything by making false claims, or are they?!

          Most of us are adults, or mature enough not to act childish by making silly claims.

              I just wanted Watkins to have minutes. Kane can start but he is playing too deep for my liking, not enough forwards runs either. I don't see Kane having any impactful game in the tournament.

          I'm not English, not Spanish either. Well done to Southgate for bringing on Watkins but Southgate has never had a stellar run with the English team to be counted among the top managers. He should spot weakness in the team from the start. Hasn't been deserving of a spot in the final, he's been lucky so far but football ain't all about who deserved it anyway.

          If you're English, I don't mean to ruin your high, enjoy the win.

              Whatever Southgate's done? Maybe Southgate asked Geuhi to take yellow and a ban, one thing lead to another and here we are. Southgate asked the Swiss player to trip Kane on to the bench. It was all so planned. Masterclass.

            People outside of England can't support a team? Maybe take your fight to the clubs who seek global fanbase.         Plenty of good players seem overrated playing in a system with handbrake tactics but they are worldclass. He had been good with Madrid, give the young guy sometime.
