      He's an interesting one Delap. It seems as though he's scoring a good amount of goals from pretty low XG and volume of shots. With better fixtures he probably gets better chances, isn't always a guarantee he'll finish them mind. Its a bit counter intuitive but some players can only score worldies through their ability and when they have time to think about what they want to do they tend to mess them up. There was potentially a bit of evidence of this in the Villa game when he had a great chance 1 on 1 with Martinez, good save to be fair but if you look at his technical ability on his goals he's scored you'd say he should have buried the chance. We've not really seen enough clear cut chances for him to say one way or another. I've been really impressed with what I've seen and I'm surprised City let him go.

        Cheap and scoring goals, I know the team isn't great for a heap of goals, but it all goes thru Delap.

    How would you rate playing Rogers next week?

    I'm somehow between:

    1. Playing Rogers and Diaz (benching Semenyo), 3 FTs before GW9
    2. Getting Bowen and Johnson (Diaz Semenyo out), 1FT before GW9

      I don't think you need to gamble on getting Bowen and Johnson just yet to be honest. I'm in a similar situation and my mind is telling me to keep assets and have the 3 FTs later to have a clearer assessment and more non-hit options. Either option could easily haul though.

    Gross. I've heard 2 content creators refer to Saka, Palmer etc as "cash cows" for freeing up money if sold. In any fantasy sports game I've played they are "premiums" and "cash cows" are cheaps like Rogers ESR etc that will build bank

      Various definitions floating about, but:

      Cash Cow:
      "a consistently profitable business, property, or product whose profits are used to finance a company's investments in other areas"

      If you sell them, that is a lot of money you can re-invest elsewhere so I don't strictly see how their usage is wrong.

      It's kinda pointless comparing business terms to FPL, but wouldn't see the cheap guys like you say as 'consistent' performers.

      And in FPL you don't gain anything 'extra' (towards another part of your team) unless you sell them. It's not like just because Haaland is doing well, Rogers will also be able to be invested in to get better.

      Much ado about nothing...

        Cash cows in Fantasy sports games are cheap buys that gain value before you "milk" them hence cow. They are never premium "set and forget" assets

        I understood cash cows in business to be parts of the business that continue to generate profits without the need for additional investment.
        They are the gifts that keep on giving.
        So they should be kept, not sold.

      Huh, maybe it's an antipodean thing...? I always thought it referred to a premium also, someone you can downgrade later for funds to spread around your squad

        I think it can refer to any player that might be downgraded to free up funds in order to strengthen the rest of the squad.
        But it wouldn't include set-and-forget players that are never likely to be sold.

          But that might be wrong, because business cash cows are assets that continue to generate profit without having to sell them or make expensive improvements to them.

          So it depends on whether the cash referred to is the profits made or the selling value.

        You shouldn't be downgrading a Premium.
        Premiums are the nucleus of your squad, and the cash cows are cheaper guys who find good form, rise in price, and are then sold on for better assets.
        Then there is the third group, the enablers who fill out a squad but don't offer a lot of value.

            If you want 3 premium attackers, which is the popular thing to do right now, Trent has to go.
            Personally, I am sticking with 2 for now and keeping him. I am confident he will outscore every other defender by a comfortable margin, even through this challenging run of fixtures. But of course I could be wrong, it's your call at the end of the day.

              I have Trent + Palmer, Saka and Haaland and I think the rest of the team is workable. I know hes worth a bit but he has so much value. Compared to other 7m mids and forwards I still much rather have Trent.

                The defence looks way too thin. Lewis is already a risky pick and following it up with two 4m defenders is asking for trouble.
                Not a fan of Kovacic either, despite the upcoming fixtures being quite promising.
                Maybe take some money off your forwards to balance the squad?

                Watkins to Havertz or even Cunha to improve defence or a Jota to Saka move. Kovacic is just chasing points that have already gone, I'd rather have Dibling

                      It just city have such a good fixtures that there should be someone besides Haaland who will benefit from it, Silva and Gundo don't really bring points these days, Foden is the same

                    That defence is pretty bad.

                    Maybe Solanke to Delap and upgrade.

                    Wouldn't worry about Palmer until after Chelsea play Arsenal, can't have everyone. Then see who you want to use to free up funds at that point, who knows Haaland might have had more blanks or even an injury by then

                      In order to bring Palmer in for Saka or Diaz, you'd have to downgrade one of Trent, Haaland or Solanke and take a - 4. I don't think it's worth it, your team looks just fine.

                      Have exact funds to do TAA + Gordon + ESR to Palmer + Milenkovic + Traore for a -4. Should I go for it?

                      What are your Top 3 assets in the league right now? Mine, in order are:

                        Do I stick? Or do Salah > Saka before the 0.2 loss from price changes? Or something else? I think I stick. Salah has better fixtures. I *could* use the money from selling Salah on defence next week, but I think I prefer to keep the defence cheap and save up some transfers again to increase my options.

                        Pope
                        Digne Lewis Mazraoui
                        Salah Foden Mbeumo Johnson
                        Haaland Solanke Wood

                        Fabianski | Rogers, Robinson, Keane

                        If Mazraoui is out, I could buy Justin, but probably just play Robinson instead.

                            Considering the defenders Chelsea will be missing, that looks like a fixture to target, so I wouldn't sell Salah.

                            Good points regarding Chelsea defence. Arsenal do play Bournemouth, of course, but then fixtures decline. Not worth the transfer, thanks

                          Play 2 Bench 1:
                          A. Smith Rowe (AVL)

                          C. Vardy (SOU)

                          Other 5 attackers are:
                          Saka, Palmer, Mbuemo, Watkins & Haaland

                            I guess you bench Rogers. Smith Rowe and Vardy know a bit more about getting the ball over the goal line

                              Smith Rowe usually delivers at home and Vardy has the easiest fixture, so I'd bench Rogers, Villa have been looking out of form recently.

                                      They're having to manage CL and PL so won't be as good in PL as deeper squads. If Emery could find a way to play Rogers, Watkins and Duran it might boost them. Or not!

                              Which TWO are best to have of Salah, Saka, Palmer?

                                  Impossible to tell, you can only guess. Salah is a bit more expensive and there is a risk his age will tell when the schedule gets more challenging. Saka is extremely consistent but doesn't score as often as the other two. Palmer only plays one game per week but plays for the weakest team and as a result has to spend lots of time playing deeper trying to create something.
                                  Diaz will always be a high risk / high reward player, you have to accept that if you want him on your team.

                                    I'm interested to see how Chelsea use Palmer against Liverpool and Arsenal in the upcoming schedule. He got shunted out wide against City on the opening day to bulk up the centre of the park and he was anonymous from there. Could be lots of reasons why he was anonymous including his limited pre-season and the level of the opposition but putting him out wide didn't feel great either.

                                Potential quadruple move this GW:

                                Robinson -> Trent
                                Smith-Rowe -> Mbeumo
                                Watkins -> Jimenez
                                Wood -> Delap

                                I feel like two are huge improvements, one is a side-step and one is a downgrade to facilitate it. Already have Haaland, Saka, Palmer, Gabriel and Johnson. The catch? I'd probably need to activate my wildcard to do it.

                                    Forest have a great defence, so Milenkovic or Aina if you want to play it safe.
                                    If you want something more adventurous, go with Ait Nouri. Wolves won't keep many clean sheets, but he has attacking potential.

                                      I was going to say Milenkovic too. Naturally we want to go to full backs in FPL for attacking potential but because Nuno is so rigid in his defence I don't expect the full backs to actually get forward much and Milenkovic from JWP's set pieces is probably their biggest goal threat from defence. I think Brentford are in the same sort of boat with their centre halves unless Rico Henry comes back as good as before but their defence is some way behind Forests.
