Handed a debut last week, our new Moneyball series returns to scan the lower end of the Fantasy markets, identifying players with the numbers to suggest they could well emerge as an unlikely force for this week and the foreseeable future. West Brom’s Romelu Lukaku is a considerable unit who, to this point, has been kept straining at the leash. Even so, with a start at home to struggling Reading on the cards tomorrow, the time looks right for the big Belgian prospect…
Ironically, it' only casuals who will be wildcarding during gw5.
Open Controlsha, I haven't been accused of being a casual for a long time. 🙂
I know quite a few regulars who did wc this week, a lot to do with United and multiple injures/rotation risk in defence.Open ControlsYou're a casual Pratik? That's funny. Well funny.
Agree totally. I am one of the regulars you mention who have wc'd this week. Had a good team but 5 of them are doubts and i may've had to field less than 11 players. The time was right.Open Controls
To truly be a top top casual you have to forget to log in to WC...
Open Controls
This is why I'm reluctant to WC as it might go tits up and you could regret it big time. I'm concerned about TV though, it's really killing me softly.
Open Controlshaha
Open ControlsYou can see I'm (somehow) on a Wycliffe tip today. I keep adding "two time" and "shakira, shakira" in the middle of my sentences.
Open ControlsWyclef Jean?
Open ControlsOh, a fail on my part, then. Showing me age.
"Why Cliffe? Is he related to Jimmy Cliffe? i remember when Jimmy gave an impromoptu concert for 60 people, just like that. He even fixed the catering. That was in Nineteen Hundred and Sevety Five, and he had the world in his hands..."Open ControlsSounded like a top Dred...cheers!
Open Controls
This is the usual trend though, massive price rises in the opening weeks of fpl, and then after the 1st international break, it becomes a lot more rational....
If you are looking for price rises, international break is your bet.Open Controls+1. The first international break.
Open Controls
Gallas 100% to start?
Open Controlsnothing is 100% with andre. he might put demps in there as we know it
Open ControlsBut he won't play anyone who doesn't give 110%.
Open ControlsYou sound firmly in his camp...
Open ControlsIs that how it sounds?
Can't say I'm a big fan of anyone who demands mathematical impossibilities. 🙂Open ControlsDidn't sound that bad, it's just surprising as the prevailing wind around here seems to be that he hasn't a clue. I don't agree with that, as things are always more complicated on the ground.
Open Controls
cool, thanks

Any scouses on here fancy Liverpool to beat SCUM
Open Controlsliverpool wont win
Open ControlsYes they would my whole family are pool fans + we all live in Liverpool!
Open ControlsThen they'll definitely win!
Open ControlsDid you start supporting Chelsea when Roman got on board?
Open ControlsYes he did but it's his that's on his account but he wants Liverpool to win and we are both going to the game on Sunday
Open Controls
im not sure haveing your hole family supporting will be for liverpool, they havent had a good start.
Open Controls
Yea hell theyll be up for it
Open ControlsI'm expecting a draw.
Open Controlshave a feeling liverpool will tear united to shreds
anfield will be emotional with the hillsborough situation and Liverpool always up their game for utdOpen Controlsi don't have any agenda. what you on about?
Open Controls
If they could find some way to either get Gerrard out of the line-up or play strictly CM without roaming. Or if Suarez could somehow find a way to get a call from the refs.
Open Controls
Having just read (the opening paragraph that is...not a member) the Lukaku speel (sp/word?)....is he something people who don't already have him as a cut-price, are thinking for this weekend?
I have been on the Long bus all week and am ready to click confirm, since it's a straight price swap and no hit to get him in for Graham.
The extra .5 would require a hit.
how about Lukaku and Ivanovic for Vertonghen and Graham?
Would leave me with
Vorm
S.Taylor Ivano Boyce
HBA Bale(C) Yaya Pienaar
Lukaku RVP TevezOpen ControlsLong is surely on pens though right? I actually have 2 fts, but would use them both for the Lukaku Ivano moves...but have a ft next week obviously..........?
Open Controls
Grrr....
Still can't make my mind up whether too offload the now fit Petric for Ba (-4pts) ?!?!!!!Open ControlsWhy did you get Petric in the first place? Is the logic still true?
Open ControlsThen the logic may not still stand, and thus it is best to offload. I'm not making any judgements.
Open ControlsEven for 4pts Ginks?
I wouldnt even ask if it was a fee trade....Open ControlsSometimes there is no logic to how things eventually go down in EPL. With that being said, I wouldn't be surprise at a Petric brace. As I've shiped Petric for Berbs as well.
Open Controls
Literally just made that transfer 😛
Go for it imo NOR, rdgOpen Controls
Evening guys, been a while. Any gossip that I should know about with regards to the games this weekend?
Open Controlschurchmouse status...

Those fingers over the Remote needs a Work-Out 😀Open ControlsI want to get rid of Graham. Who should I get in for the next three gameweeks?
A) Fletcher (whm, WIG, mci)
B) Long (RDG, avl, QPR)
C Berbatov (wig, MCI, sot)
D) Mirallas (swa, SOT, wig)
I think I'll use my wc after gw7.Open ControlsVorm, Foster
Vermaelen, Ivanovic, Shawcross, Barnett, Kompany
Guthrie, Cazorla, Michu, Hazard, El Ahmadi
Tevez, Berbatov, Defoe.
VIEWS?Open ControlsThoughts welcome ppl!
Mignolet
Baines McAuley Demel
Hazard Santi Michu(C) Snodgrass
Fletcher Tevez RVP
SUBS: Bego Guthrie Davies Cuellar.
Is the bench and its order right?? Feedback well appreciated. Thanks!Open ControlsYou appear to have sneezed while choosing your captain?
Open ControlsI'd keep the bench like that, yeah. Good team.
Just hope Guthrie gets auto-subbed in, as he'll score. WBA struggle against Reading.Open ControlsNow you brought in something new! How do you say that bot Guthrie and Reading??
Open Controls
How's this looking for this GW?
Foster
ACole Clyne Demel
Bale(c) Kagawa Yaya Dyer
RVP(vc) Tevez Berbatov
Federici; Noble, Zabaleta, Cuellar
Right captain you think? Any opinions are helpful...Open ControlsI would play zab over clyne
Open ControlsEverybody have had their own captain issues! So can only say that you should go with your gut.. decent team though..
Open ControlsThanks man... I think it looks like an alright team, it ain't getting me the points though....
Open Controls
Boyce for sure.
Open Controlsalways play the attacker over the defender
Open ControlsBoyce is an attacker 😮
Open ControlsPlease...comparison tool and reality of where his team can actually hold and keep ground says other wise. Besides, Wigan are in horrible form.
Passes recieved: Boyce-23....Dyer-52 (last week only)
Mins. per attempt: Boyce-62.8...Dyer-36.1 (season)Open Controls
boyce 100%
Open ControlsBoyce! Its gonna rain goals at the Liberty tomo!
Open ControlsBench Boyce
Open Controls
Ok folks 2 questions
1) Is Sterling still the best sub 5 option (assuming I don't wish to double on Fulham with Kaca)? Need to offload Marveaux next week.
2) Am I all set for this week
Migs
Baines, Rafa, Hengeland
Michu, Hazard, Johnson, Noble
Tevez, Berba, RvP (c)
Fed, Marv, Clyne, DaviesOpen ControlsYes
YesOpen ControlsWas he ever the best cheap midfielder? I'm not sure.
YesOpen ControlsKaca might be better, but now Ruiz and Petric are back, and Hugo is fit, he might not be nailed on. Guthrie is far from convincing.
Pool do have a nice run coming up. For 4.6 he's gotta be worth a puntOpen ControlsThat's the view I've taken. Had him come off the bench last week for Johnson for a "lucky" 5 points.
Fixtures on his side, plus the fact that Liverpool don't have many options up there so he'll score and even if coming off the bench (in real life) has a reasonable chance as impact sub.Open Controls
Yes
Yes
Nice team name btw 😉Open ControlsYeah, it's pretty similar to my team that except I have
Foster
Baines, Rafa, Demel
Michu, Hazard (c), Johnson, Cazorla
Tevez, Berbatov, RVP (vc)
Begovic, Sterling, Davies, Gorkks
I am still considering RVP captain, haven't made my mind up yet.Open Controlsi will have Foster and Demel or Lowton very soon.
Open Controls
You should have taken Marv out before Pardew even got on the mobile last weekend...
Open Controls
Any concrete news on Graham or Ash Williams from anyone?
Open Controlsboth doubts for the game
.Open Controls
thoughts on fellaini-->pianaar + morrison or nolan--> ben arfa for a 4pt hit?
or should i wait another week?Open Controls@Nitin - Buy the striker your heart wants, live life a little.
Open ControlsI think he's tried that recently and, well, it hasn't really worked. I think he should ask himself WWKD?
Open Controls
bertrand prob won't play
Open Controls
What do we think about WBA's penalty taker now? Long missed one earlier, Odem is out, Brunt almost never plays anymore ... Long? Morrison?
Open ControlsMichu & HBA
or
Bale & Dyer/Ramirez
What you say?Open ControlsThe latter!
Open Controls
Hell with (C) choice..I am (C)ing whoever Total FPL captains
Open Controlsmust admit i have my eye on that as well, their track record is unbelievable.
i've finally plumped for bale, if they back that up i'm going to be very confident 😛Open Controlsare they usually right?
Open ControlsIf I have their (c) pick in my team then I usually do as well.
Open Controls
Sigurdsson (C)?
Open Controlshave a weird feeling about suarez this week. Have a feeling Liverpool will tear utd to shreds and Suarez will bag a brace
It will be highly emotional anfield after the hillsborough situation plus liverpool always up for utd game at anfield.Open Controlswhereas united won't be up for it?
Open Controlsthey will be but liverpool always at anfield go strong v united and this seasons match has even more emotion surrounding it
liverpool will attack from the start, expect it to be frantic paceOpen ControlsI'm a United fan, but I have to say I don't really disagree. Utd have been kack at Anfield for the last 5 years or so, and Pool have got an important psychological momentum there now. Will be a very difficult match. If Utd win, though, I'm loving this season already.
Open ControlsI expect it to be fast paced game, alot of tackles and alot of emotion. United will do extremely well to get anything, this isn't the usually crappy liverpool which turns up every week
Open ControlsIf it's fast paced I think United will do well...they looked well when the pace picked up in their CL match this week. They haven't quite got the final 1/3 service quite right though. Valencia and Nani may be allowed to run riot if the squeeze in on RVP...as I suspect.
Open Controls
I'm probably going to captain r.v.p. I usually captain my best player when an obvious choice is not forthcoming and this is still a very ordinary Liverpool side bar Suarez.
Open Controlshe scored twice v liverpool last season, he may do ok v shaky liverpool defence but just have a feeling liverpool will want it more
Open Controls
Expect a highly entertaining draw tbh! Guessing the no. of goals is another matter!

I think price rises have cooled significantly after the international break as many 'casuals' have stopped logging in...For those who plan to wc on Saturday, don't look for the wc as a means to increase your team value.
