FFS Cup

FFS Paddy Power Members Cup III – Sixth Round Results

We now have our Quarter-Finalists for this season’s Members Cup, as the weekend programme narrowed the field further. Those eight who made progress not only keep their name in the hat for this cup, they also guarantee qualification for the inaugural Fantasy Football Scout Shield where they will face off against the last eight from this season’s earlier Paddy Power Cup over the final four Gameweeks of the season.

Eunuch Jelly is the name that everyone will want to avoid in the last eight – he is now the highest ranked manager remaining in the tournament, having destroyed Stewport, himself ranked 771st before the weekend. Acquafresca will also fancy his chances – he’s the other manager ranked in the top 1000 to progress. Fuzzy Dunlop is perhaps the manager to look out for, as a former winner of this cup, he’s been there and done it and probably still has his cup final suit.

The draw for the Quarter-Finals, to be played out over Gameweek 32, will be published tomorrow afternoon.

Sorry guys stuck on bottom of last page...

Guys I am stumped… 1 FT this week and 0.1 in the bank and have a defensive line that looks like this:

    Cesar (WIG) – Szczesny (wba)

Martin R (SWA), Rafael (MCI), O’Brien (liv) – Clyne (rdg), Harte (SOU)

I cannot see any options for me this week to fix the Rafael/Szczesny/Harte problem that is any better than keeping my FT to bring in Felliani and Fabianski next week. I cannot bring in an Arsenal defender for Rafael as already have 2 Arsenal. Do I just save the transfer and pray that Rafael plays this week and has some part in the DGW next week or is there an option I am missing? Really appreciate the advice!

i dont see a problem ? u wouldn wan rafael anyway cause high possibility man city gonna score.
      u can play

      Cesar
Martin R , Clyne and Rafael ( if Rafael doesn play , O Brien will sub in anyway altho the likelyhood of you getting any clean sheet is low)

if i am you , i keep rafael and pray he plays... this way u save 1 FT this week and could have got 2 other players for next week. this allows u more flexibility as u dont have much Cash in bank

      A:
Sagna - risk (Jenkinson could get time)
De Gea could always be rotated once the title is mathematically won.
Carrick, I don't see as worth it

      B: Fabianski - risk

As a Bunn owner, I really do think if Ruddy is fit, Bunn will miss the rest of the season.

I just have to hope Begovic can keep his own as I'm not seeing 4 point hits for keepers worth it.

Hazard has played part of every single game Chelsea have played this season, barring the three he was banned. I'd say he's 200%! Gerrard and Baines, every minute of PL 😀

Yeah, agreed. Hope he gets rested so I don't have to think about it. For a hit might be a bit rash, probably just annoyed that he messed up my GW last week, could only put out 9 players.

did he play 90 minutes against manu recently? missed the game but pretty happy with the result as i can now ditch him for wally and keep RVP for DGW33. if he did, then he may be rested. not his fault that you put 9, it's one of those GWs. if he's available, you can still only put 10 😉

I'm currently leading by more than 100 points in my mini leagues with prizes. At this stage, I'm only looking to widen that gap and get the most points out of the WC as much as possible. Also, to improve my rank overall.

I think if we depend on who our opponents have, we are only looking at one side of things.

No, if we're looking at who our rivals have, we're just taking more information into account - not necessarily only looking at one side.

I wasn't aware you were 100 points clear as that throws in another thing to consider - whether you feel you already have the league won or not. Whether you do or not, is another thing to take into account.

This is my team for this week:

      Fabianski, (Federici),
      Zabaleta, Wilson, Davies, (Demel, Harte),
      Bale, Mata, Walcott, Michu, (Guthrie),
RVP, Suarez, Berbatov. (1 FT, £0.1m)

Firstly, have I got the starting XI right? Or should I play Harte over Zabaleta and hope he starts? And secondly, what transfer(s) should I make? I'm a bit stumped. Cheers, guys. 🙂

Yeah. He's at home, "only" 5 home games since their last CS (2 in a row) and he's got decent attacking threat with set-pieces.

          Begovic (Federici)
Evra - Azpilicueta - Clichy (Davies - Mariappa)
Bale - Walcott - Michu - Sissoko (Maloney)
          RVP(vc) - Suarez(c) - Lambert

          1FT, 0.2 in bank

A lot of changes I'd like to make, but am I better off saving my free for next week's DGW?

save the FT. i'd start maloney over siss, especially if the Newc guy plays 90 minutes tonight.

who to bench out of this lot:

          Sissoko, Cazorla, Walcott, Bale, Mata
          Lukaku, Rooney, Sturridge

My initial thinking was Lukaku but im sure he will have a hand in something at home to the gunners.

I just made some calculation for Chelsea fixtures. If we get to the final FA cup and Final EL that means back to back double GW in GW 35 and 36 and blank in GW 37 (FA Cup Final).

Which would probably mean pretty much every Chelsea player only playing 1 game in each DGW, unfortunately. They'd be almost like single gameweeks.

so choices for forwards for the DGW? I can see that a few people will go for rooney and RVP, then with the one spot left over... berbs or keep suarez for the run-in?

I'm going Suarez Berbs Giroud for my forward line. Don't think RVP or Rooney will start 3 games in a week with the league all but wrapped up. Suarez is playing Reading, I'd keep.

I guess the form of the United strikers lately can be conceiving, with Rooney being injured and RVP being a bit unlucky. Still, I think I'll risk it since getting one would mean worrying about rotation as soon as the league is wrapped up.

what do you guys think of this DGW33 team (-4)?

          Bego
          Zaba BAINES MERTESACKER
          WALCOTT CAZORLA FELLAINI puncheon
          RVP BERBATOV benteke

          (bunn davies pearce bale)

only 7 DGWers 🙁 ..i can do puncheon > duff for another hit, but not sure if it's gonna worth.

That looks good for only -4, I'm looking at -8 for 7 :\ Wouldn't do Punch -> Duff for a hit, gives you a benching problem anyways. If I could pick between Mert and Giroud for my last Arsenal player I'd go Giroud, dunno if you already got him in.
