Just a heads up. We’re shifting HomeCrowd comments over to a new server host this morning which will allow us to get a more flexible and hopefully robust set of servers to serve comments from this point on. Effectively, this will double the size of the database that serves comments and allow us to add more web servers to ensure performance can be improved.
That’s the good news. The bad news is that it’s essential, if we are to carry this move out cleanly, to close comments for about an hour this morning while we do the import/export of the data and open up the new servers.
The site and existing comments will remain accessible but posting of new comments will not be possible.
We will try to make this downtime as short as possible and be back in working order later this morning. Thanks for your patience.
