With the frantic festive period now behind us, we can finally take stock and assess the statistics over the last few matches. Having last looked at the data in Gameweek 17, we have three sets of matches to investigate – Arsenal’s midfield, Tottenham’s attack and United and City’s frontmen are all placed under the microscope this time around:
Ignore top part, was meant for another post, whoops
Open ControlsJanuzaj is a rotation risk as well and Sterling may well be when Sturridge is back.
Open ControlsWell done for repeating what he said...
Open Controls
Whitts or Puncheon for me.
Open ControlsAssaidi at Stoke for 4.7m is the one missing from the list in my opinion. He's ineligible this weekend for the game against Liverpool but has started six of the last seven and has 3 goals and two assists in that period.

Suarez-Aguero-RVP team providing they're all fit and playing in GW 24:
Boruc, Davis
Baines, MOlsson, Ward, Burner, Chester
Hazard Walcott Cabaye Mutch Ki
Suarez Aguero RVP
For those short on money you could go Coleman instead of Baines and maybe upgrade Mutch to Whitts.
- Boruc will hopefully be back in a month and has some decent fixtures. If not, you could get Marshall instead
- the 4 cheapie defenders rotate very well so you can confidently play 2 each week
- Mutch - Ki perfect rotationOpen Controlslallana for cabaye and it looks decent

Nasty
Open Controls
Debuchy is out 3 games; Distin may be hurt and Cabaye might be a flash in the pan.
Would it be worth an 8 point hit to throw that group away and get Hazard, Metesacker, and Ward?
I know... it's WC time and this may be silly. It's a definite risk. I'm just wondering if it's a completely awful thought.Open Controlswhy would you not make those changes as part of your WC?
Open ControlsJust wildcard man
Open Controlscabaye is definitely not a flash in the pan. quality player.
Open ControlsJust Debuchy out for now
Open ControlsI think holding the WC until Aguero is ready is the right move. There is next to no one here who will not be taking a few hits to get him in if they don't have their WC.
Hazard it exploding in price and my defense is in shambles. This could be a make or break move.
Granted; from the responses... it's looking break. 😛Open ControlsI've just kept money in the bank to get him. Simple. If it turns out I don't want him the money keeps me flexible
Open Controls
I'm chasing a 100 point gap in my ML I won last year so had to go a bit different with my WC team but what do we think?
De Gea Mannone
Mertesacker Terry Kompany B.Turner Chester
Walcott Oscar Barkley Januzaj ?
Suarez Aguero Remy
? = Eriksen, Lallana or Cabaye, Help?Open ControlsIs Kun even fit? Bit harsh to leave him on the bench for 1-2 GWs considering his price. Maybe Negredo as a placeholder?
Oscar's a good shout but you need Hazard imo. With no Lamps, he's on penalties too. Besides, Hazard is Mourinho's pet project mate, ignore at your peril.
I'd downgrade Komp to Nastasic/Evans and upgrade Barkley to Hazard if possible.Open ControlsHis twitter says he is pretty close to returning but I don't think I would roll this out until GW22/23 when Aguero is definitely fit.
I think I can afford to leave out Hazard with my big defence and the fact he is owned by many and Oscar is my main differential.Open Controls
Silva still has pretty low ownership so perhaps look to get him and downgrade Remy for JRod or Hooper for example.
You've got 3 premium defenders which I quite like imo and all attacking/set piece threats..
Oscar could be a nice differential - will be interesting how Jose plays it after such a good sub cameo on new years day..Open ControlsSuch a tough decision who scores more Remy and one of C/L/E or Rodriguez and Silva.
I want the big defence as has always worked well for me post Jan, Oscar was doing so well for me early season then got injured and Chelsea had some tricky fixtures so Jose went with other options. but Oscar is still number 10 after NYD performance and his comments about Mata.Open ControlsGo for it mate 🙂

?Open Controlsexcuse me but how much has everyone got to spend on WC?
some of the teams mentioned look way out of reachOpen ControlsYou get an extra £100m during Jan WC so £200m budget in total
Open Controlsi'l have some of what your having
Open Controls
I have 107.9 but soon to rise by 0.3M when things update.
I also got many of the players when they were cheap. For example got Hazard at 9.0M & Suarez at 10.9M.Open Controlsmy 105.4 seems crap now
Open Controls
8 shots itb for soldado. What's happened to this guy? Meant to be a great finisher
Open ControlsSecondhalfofseasonitis, reckon he'll score plenty here on in.
Open Controls
Kos on 82%. Won't rise tonight will he? Just making sure in case TFPL been playing up today
Open ControlsMy plan is to get Kos it tomorrow as well
Open Controls
Pulling trigger on Ki ➡ Lallana tonight.
Then next week I'll be wishing I bought Eriksen instead 😐Open ControlsYou should get Eriksen instead 😉
Open ControlsWhy you doing it so soon. We've got 8-9 days left.
Open Controls
Advive would be greatly appreciaed. My back 3 this week is:
Clyne (WBA) , Koscielny (villa) , Dawson (CRY)
Should i do:
Kompany > Coleman and bench Clyne
Or save transfer? .. (I know its ridiculous I don't have Coleman)Open ControlsIt depends if you want to have Coleman or Kompany until you WC but if you are doing then do it now so you get the price rise.
Open Controls
Guys, there's ten days before the next match. There is Cup shit before. Simmer down, ffs! 🙂

Open Controls
TV is forcing a lot of hands
Open ControlsPrise rises....
Open ControlsRises tonight may determine who a manager can/can't afford on the WC.
Usually I agree, however I want to get this spot on.Open ControlsYou should be on wildcard then 😉
Open Controls
Who to captain next GW?
Rooney (SWA) Suarez (stk) Negredo (Ncfc) Wally (avl)
Newcastle got debuchy and collocini out so a bit tempted to captain Negredo, but Pellegrini seems to like subbing forwards early in games.Open ControlsWallster on form and Villa park is bogey groung for Villa
Open Controls
Honestly have no idea what to do with my WC. Hopefully end of the month there will be clear transfers to make
Open ControlsThere will be new bandwagons no doubt.
Here's my watchlist if you care:
Agüero
Benteke
Lambert
Soldado
RavMo
Puncheon
Cech / Chelsea defence
TownsendOpen ControlsInteresting....What do you think i should do with Rooney?..stick with him or swap him for a differential, till WC that is.
Open ControlsIf he's fit to play Swansea, worth keeping I think. Set-pieces are a charm, especially against a team which is weak at defending set-pieces.
Open Controls
Don't really care for any of those except aguero and benteke if he finally hits some form. Only idea I've had so far is Lukaku, Rooney, Barkley, Sterling and Ridgewell OUT for JRod, Aguero, Gerrard, Redmond(or other sub 4.6) and Clyne/Bardsley. But still not even a big fan of those moves either.
Open ControlsSoldado is about to explode very soon I reckon. He's getting loads of good chances under Sherwood.
Open ControlsHeld on to him way to long beginning of the season don't know if I have it in me to ever bring him back in. Must show form and consistency over a decent period for me to even slightly consider
Open Controls
I'm the opposite. Very clear idea of the main players I want. Hence no point to not get in early
Open ControlsWhich players are you targeting?
Open ControlsMozil, Silva, Haz, Kosc, Ade (with money itb for kun), Jrod, Mannone, marshal etc.
Open ControlsYeah we are in different situations. I have Sagna with 4 other rotating defenders, Walcott, silva and oscar in midfield with sterling/Barkley rotation, lukaku Rooney and Suarez up front. No one currently injured or suspended so my team is in pretty good shape. No transfers jumping out at me as of yet.
Open Controls
is chambers likely to play ahead of shaw this gw?

Open Controls
Towards to this WC team
Marshall. Mannone
Gabbidon. Chester. Mert. Baines. Kos
Puncheon. Walcott. Hazard. Mutch. Eriksen.
Adebayor. Suarez. Lukaku.
Adebayor becomes Aguero after Palace at home for SpursOpen ControlsA. Eriksen
B. Lallana
C. CabayeOpen ControlsSo Cabaye now seems less important from an fpl perspective.
Do I go for
A. Eriksen (CPL, swa, MCI, hul, EVE, new, nor, CAR)
B. Lallana (WBA, sun, ARS, ful, STO, hul, whu, LIV)Open ControlsRavel out Sterling in.
It just seemed like the right thing to do.Open ControlsTook a punt on Podolski this week ...worth transferring to Adebayor ?

I have quite a good thing going this year in FPL so could you possibly make 0 transfers so that I won't have to shift my team to accommodate all of the new players I would want.

Best cheap midfield option?
I know this was a Daily Hot Topic last week but with another GW passed and many (including myself) wielding their WCs; why not discuss again. In my opinion these are the best options for less than 5.5 but feel free to reply with any I've missed:
Sterling: Always a chance for an assist or a sneaky goal when playing with Suarez and a promising young player but is a rotation threat especially when Sturridge returns.
Januzaj: As with Sterling, he is an exciting prospect but hasn't (and most likely won't) cement his spot. However, when he does feature, he has impressed and supplied assists consistently and could benefit from Untied's kind upcoming fixtures.
Whittingham: On set pieces and nailed on, he's a very safe fifth mid. Has nice home fixtures coming up too.
Puncheon: He may be only 4.9m but he's Puncheon above his weight (not really but wanted to include the pun). Has been involved in goals recently. and has good home fixtures but Palace are no goal scoring machines.
Redmond: Cheap and lively, he has potential for the odd assist. However, there is the threat of Pilkington when he comes back from injury.
Others: Barkley is another option but personally I'm not a fan as he's a rotation risk and quite inconsistent. Another cheapie is Livermore. Only setting you back 4.6m, he could be a sneaky option for those with little in the bank.
So, what are your opinions on the best cheap mid?
