The ScoutCast – Episode 125 – Sicknote

It’s the ScoutCast vs Adversity. Granville drags himself out of his sick bed and we scramble into a makeshift studio, determined to return to the airwaves after our absence last week.

Apologies in advance for the echo, the faint background hiss and Granville’s Bonnie Tyler-like tones. If you can see your way past that little lot then you might just find some worth in this week’s episode as we grill the Gameweek 29 blank, sauté the Gameweek 31 doubles, boil down the Suarez vs Sturridge debate and lament our joint decision to choose Edin Dzeko from the lavish striker buffet, ignoring the sumptuous Sturridge in the process.

In between that particular call to Captain Hindsight, we rinse through the regulars, although Granville’s poorly state has us clean forget to credit the Scout League leaders or offer our thoughts on our new Fantasy Football squeeze – Ultimate Fantasy Premier League. Please accept this note from our respective Mum’s and the promise that we’ll return to full fitness next week.

    @Optimus

    Moyes on RVP

    "I think if I'd brought him off [against Newcastle] some people would say 'What are you doing? You are 1-0 down and you're taking off your top goalscorer,'" Moyes said.

        Like I said, all managers are swayed by public sentiment. Most are not stupid enough to admit it. That's why Eriksen is nailed on now. Probably.

    This comeback has only been possible because of Vert's antics

    Why is it that any motion of the head is a RC? Surely Vert was being more aggressive there?

    I was going to go to the game tonight as I've been a bit neglectful but decided against it as I'm in a bit of a 'meh' mood with Spurs at the moment. Shame, there'll be a great atmosphere there tonight (albeit after a rubbish first half and the fact that it's taken them going a man up to start playing). There's also plenty of time for them to throw it away I guess!

              I'm the same! Have no idea who I really want. Don't think you plan on any manager being around for more than two years anymore. De Boer possibly because I'd quite like a younger coach to build something but given my comment about two years I guess Van Gaal could work. I really don't know. There's no one currently in the Prem that I'd want with the possible exception of Martinez (although I don't think he'll move Spurs consistently into the top-3-4).

        He did butt him but not as hard as Vert would have us believe

      But why is any motion of the head an automatic red card?

        Any 'motion' is not but he made deliberate contact with his head aka a headbutt.

          Did he make contact? Even if he did, it was incredibly light. Surely that's not dangerous play?

            There was contact. Plus, that cat was being a pain to the ref already.......Ref probably just decided enough was enough.

            It's not 'play' at all. It's assault in every other context.

              Why! He's effectively touching Vert's head with his. Surely Vert aggressively pushing Zozulya is worse if anything?
