With the exception of a 3-0 drubbing at the hands of Liverpool, Mauricio Pochettino’s Spurs have enjoyed an encouraging opening to their campaign. Seven goals in four matches makes their attacking options worthy of consideration, with the midfield trio of Christian Eriksen, Erik Lamela and Nacer Chadli hovering on our radars as potential acquisitions.
The 4-0 thrashing of QPR certainly brought Nacer Chadli firmly into the Fantasy frame as he bagged a brace and claimed 15 points. With Mauricio Pochettino seemingly promoting the Belgian international to the status of certain starter and with a Fantasy Premier League (FPL) price tag of just 6.1, the debate over Tottenham’s attacking trio seems cut and dry.
However, Christian Eriksen’s shift to a central role in the win over Sunderland and his bundled goal in the 2-2 draw reminded us that he’s a known quantity and a proven producer after a solid 132-point campaign last year. In addition, after a season on the sidelines, largely due to injury, Argentine starlet Lamela has shown flashes of the brilliance which have gone some way to explain why Spurs shelled out £30 million for his services last summer.
In this latest article for members, we analyse this trio of targets, sifting the data available to analyse their early-season form and assess whether Chadli’s emergence has put both Eriksen and the resurgent Lamela in the shade.
