Here’s our regular update on the competition, featuring a look at the Matchday 1 games that took place over Gameweek 5. We also have some fun handing out some Matchday Awards and a look ahead to Matchday 2. Please use this article for all tournament chat.
Matchday 1 Results
The final Matchday 1 results have been updated in the Cup spreadsheet and we can reveal that after a hard-fought first round Australia and New Zealand top Groups A and B respectively. Congratulations to all the victorious teams and a reminder to those that lost that we still have four more games to go in the group stages.
Manager Rating on Live ScoreCast
Pratik has now launched a new feature called the Manager Rating on the Live ScoreCast Tool.
The sole criterion of this is how well the manager selected his team, which means it has no dependency on the result of the tie. The calculation involved is as below:
a) X = Calculates score of selected 11
b) Y = Calculates score of best 11 of the team
c) Manager Rating is (X/Y)*100
So lets see who gets their team selection spot on…
Matchday 1 Awards
We have also launched some Matchday awards to reward teams, managers, captains and players for their contributions over the week.
Louis van Gaal Award for the best attack – India with 513 goals
A Rainy Night at Britannia award for the Best defence – South Africa conceding just 454 goals
Salma Hayek Overnight Award for the player of the week – Christina (New Zealand) with 65 points
SAF Award – Saniul (Netherlands) with 97% manager rating
Jose Mourinho Award for the best press conference of the week – Ellipsis (Argentina) and Saniul (Netherlands) with +6 votes (Just a heads up – For matchday 2, currently Ellipsis is in the lead again)
Hot Urine Treatment for the highest point scorer on the bench – La Roja (Spain) with 69 points
Dalglish Differential for the worst team selection – 7 Shades of Smoke (India) with 88% manager rating
