The Scoreboard presents the Fantasy Premier League information you need from the day’s matches all on one screen, including the current top five BPS (Bonus Point System) standings from each match (potential Bonus Point earners are in bold). Actual Bonus Points will be shown when added – all points are provisional until then.
Didnt see any of the games. How did aguero play and Sterling cor that matter?
Both were fantastic.
awesome
Non owners should be lucky he only scored once
could have had a lot more
Didn't see the pool matchFirst part = regarding Kun
yeah
I have Aguero but didn't (c)
Heart in mouth for much of that matchI did (c). Mixed feelings here.
Think it was an ideal result for us Aguero owners and Costa captainers.
Great. Cheers guys.
disagree with the others. I thought Aguero was average but mainly due to City labouring. if it wasnt for Silva City would have created nothing. If Silva gets injured City are in trouble. Milner had a decent game but hes all hard work and no real quality
City havent looked their usual selves this year bar the Liverpool game and Liverpools results since then show they aint no great shakes.
Aguero was average? 😯
Could have had a hatty.
2 clear cut chances that I can remember right now. The header from Kolarov's cross and him hitting the post.
And as far as City are concerned, we got a 2-0 away win with a side that was labouring. imagine whats gonna happen when we hit top gear. 😉Aguero's movement no where near what he was before. I don't think they have much more to offer. Silva is a genuine world class player surrounded by too many stiffs. chelsea/Arsenal swept Villa aside
Sterling was poor by his usual poor standards, still got an assist and had a few good chances.
Thats just it with him isnt it. Even when he plays poorly he seems to get in the points
Sterling has become a pizza player. Even when he's bad, he's still good.
Haha nice analogy
Sterling always involved but his first touch let him down again. Sturridge back next game so should be fine
Sterling wasn't impressive at all imo.
As a Liverpool fan and Sterling owner, i really thought he was poor. Decent assist, not much more. A lot of almost, but his touch was really lacking. Aguero looked very sharp, could have gotten much more today.
Wc activated?
Anyone have any idea of potential risers fallers?welbeck rise tonight for sure
I reckon:
Up-ADM sterling sigy Wellbeck
Down-Ramsay Rooney MirallasPerhaps Senoir Baines?
Welbeck will go up according to fplstatistics
Ok noone knows still
Thank you guys. Sorry did not see answers. Wellbeck and baines in
A: Di Maria + Pelle
B: Tadic + AgueroB
Tadic and Pelle imo
Prob best to ask again after all have played...
C: Tadic, Pelle, Aguero
What would you prefer long termish? Say gw 9 to gw 15.
A. Welbeck+Sterling+Mangala+some change
B. Sturridge+Walcott+ChambersA
Id take the players who arent just coming back from injury for now
Current team:
Begovic
Ivanovic Clyne Moore
Fabregas Sterling Siggy Downing
Costa Kun Pelle
Hamer PVA Duff Albrighton
1FT, 1.8 ITB
Any suggestions on this lot?
I think PVA/Bego/Duff are the first to get rid ofchanging Moreno and Ulloa > Welbeck and Baines for free changes my 6 week RMT value from 306.45 to 316.2 pretty convincing move then!
The money difference would probably suggest an improvement.
I know but its a high number. Highest it has rated my team all season
it is a very high rating indeed
not surprised about that tbh 🙂
If Lovren wasn't nearing another probable price drop in the next 2 weeks i would probably keep him. I can't stand losing TV though so I think its worth the hit to get Baines.
Also, the difference between keeping Lovren and selling him for Baines would be playing these players in these fixtures:
Lovren: .................................. qpr cpl STO
Wisdom/Chambers/Taylor: ...... CPL MUN CPL
Not much in it, so I'm happy to cut loose.
drunk
a, pizza
b. kebabA
A.
Send me one too!both, large
I like this idea.
Depends how drunk. If very get a kebab and captain it. Might regret it tomorrow though
How's this WC team looking gents?
Guzan
Baines | Clyne| Chambers
Sterling | Alexis| Tadic | Siggy
Costa | Aguero | Welbz
(McCarthy,Duff,Wisdom,Boyd)Beautiful
I like that a lot
Wow
you make me want to push the buttonPerfect
i can get the same team and still have 1.3m left over!
ADM over Sanchez as you have Welbeck
Who do you think wins?
A. Baines, Clyne, Tadic, Pelle +2
B. Terry, Bertrand, Fabregas, WelbeckB
That was the wrong answer
😀
ok poseidon. i wrote u an explanatory poem on the last page
Moreno to baines for me as FT, however I'll need to take a hit to do Mirallas to =
Keep Moreno for one more week IMO, and maybe a Southampton midfielder/Sigurdsson for Mirallas this week?
Sorry msg cutout.
If bring in baines for moreno I'll need to ship mirallas to 5.9m
A) do you think mirallas will drop soon
B) who are the best replacements
C) should I hope for price risers elsewhere and then bring in Henderson?
Forster
Moreno-pva-clyne-ntaylor-wisdom
Adm-fab-sterling-sigy-mirallas
Costa-Pelle-wellbeck
Got a few options to choose from for UFPL tomorrow. Not sure about starting Downing when I have Caulker, or Lamela when I have Clyne, and not sure about my forwards as Costa and Falcao play tomorrow but Jelavic and Aguero have already scored.
* 5 pts, Tadic, (Lamela, Downing)
* Aguero (c) to Costa (c)
* Aguero to Falcao
Wondering how others' teams are shaping up, and if anyone has any thoughts on my situation.I'd be starting Downing if I had him in UFPL.
Keep the (c) on Aguero.
Drop someone else (a mid) for Falcao.why keep aguero (C) he got less than 1 goal points return
I like to play safe. Costa could very easily not score.
bookies have Costa odds on to score tomorrow
Aguero only got 7 change. Costa only needs a goal to beat him. I would play downing over 5pts. Falcao move is a coin toss. Suppose you have to if you own him.
SERIOUSLY!!!! how u tink utd wil do tomorrow? Iv ADM (C) he really looks good..
i tink they wil do SERIOUSLY WELL!!!!
maybe...2-2 imo
Ther wil b goals for sure. Just hope di Maria grabs one (and an assist)!
Well I put Sterling(c) but forgot to change to costa(c) before the deadline. Fingers crossed for Costa blank hehe.
UFPL.....Aguero got me 7 points....should I change captain to Costa or Fab??
I won't be. Others might.
my rank is 486....so think I can afford to play it safe.
really wish I had been brave and gone Siggy c...got a whopper 11 in UFPLmy rank is 285 and i am twisting didnt even hesitate. Aguero got -1 for big chance missed. Costa needs 1 goal to outscore him
Costa I already have made the move
guess it's pretty much a coin toss. If Costa blanks he could still get 3/4 points. It's a tough one.
I would expect Chelsea to score at least 3 against Arsenal
- Silva Falls Victim To Bonus Rules
I’d like to start this post by saying that it is needless and will not change anything, but I hope it will be cathartic for me and those who read in agreement.
Anybody watching today's encounter at Villa Park will have seen David Silva put on a clinic in how to control a game of football. It was as undeniable as it was majestic. Back in the good old days of fantasy football Silva would have earned a deserved 3 bonus points for being, unanimously, man of the match. Nobody would have argued.
However, bonus points don’t work like that anymore. His performance was so noticeably brilliant that I was curious to see how Silva had done in the BPS column (he may or may not be in my XI). He scored 15, I couldn’t believe it.
To put that into perspective, of the 21 players who played 60+ minutes in this game, 12 got more BPS than Silva. Joe Hart, who faced 1 shot on target all night, outscored him. He was outscored by 9 of team mates, including Fernando who was a substitute. He was outscored by Tom Cleverley. You may not agree that Silva was man of the match, which is ok. But nobody can tell me he was the 13th most effective player on the field.
The main problem lies in what the bonus points now stand for. In the past bonus points rewarded intangible influence. It was the ‘all things considered’ award. Now, it rewards purely statistical influence. If there’s one thing football is not, it’s a game of statistics.
Now, there are redeeming features to the current system. Tackles, dribbles, interceptions etc. count towards BPS. There is no other way to score points for these aspects of performance, so that is good.
What I find ludicrous is that stats such as goals, assists, clean sheets, saves, cards and the like do count. Why? The points system already rewards these. You already get 4 points for a goal. Midfielders get 5 and defenders/GKs get 6. This means that even before bonus points are added, defenders are getting 2 bonus points for scoring a goal. Yet, goals/assists are so heavily weighted against tackles and dribbles and the like that they make getting further bonus points a formality.
Why reward something that is already gets very handsomely? It is not logical. For example, if Lukaku beats 4 players and earns a penalty for Everton, and Baines scores it, Leighton Baines had nothing to do with earning the penalty but will score 6 points plus (usually) at least 1 bonus point for kicking a ball past the GK from 12 yards, and Lukaku will get half that for his brilliance.
What we end up with week after week are a couple of players with double figures in points and every other player scoring low points. Managers are forced to rely on players who produce brief outbursts of points rather than those who are consistently influential.
City would not have broken through Villa today without the sustained pressure they put on in the second half. This pressure was created mainly by Silva’s outstanding final third play, time and again making himself available between lines that were getting closer and closer together, finding space where there was apparently none, always playing the right pass and generally putting the Villa defence on red alert every time he had possession. None of these aspects of his performance were tangible though, resulting in a measly 15 BPS points.
I get it, it’s only 3 points. The whole thing is just a game, it’s the same for everyone who plays it and let’s face it, the last system was very secretive and at times players seemingly got bonus points based on reputation alone.
But the concept was not broken – the way it was implemented was the problem. With this new system, I have no issue selecting players that are more effective in fantasy then their more gifted teammates.
I just think it’s a travesty that as fantasy managers, we are being encouraged to overlook players such as Silva who represent the essence of football, whose talents operate on a level beyond statistics.😯 over complicating things however there is some sense to your post. Silva deserved 3 bonus as city were hopeless without him
Whilst I agree with what you're saying...
paragraphs.Bring back the FPL dartboard
Can understand your frustration. There will probably never be a bonus system that satisfies everyone. Whenever one of our players "deserves" bonus but doesn't get it we don't like the system. In the old days there were predictable players who got them for "seemingly nothing" (remember that Rooney sub on where he did jack for like 15 minutes and still got the 3pts?).
We bitched for them to give us some definable way to justify it and they've done just that over the last two seasons. Result--we still complain. Bottom line is it will never satisfy everyone. It's bonus. Take it for what it is and move on.He's called 'The Merlin' for something you see. 😉
My grav applauds your post as well. 🙂I'd like to start this post by saying it needs a paragraph...
Did it used to go to official man of the match? that would seem most sensible
TL;DR, on topic; what else is new? Bonus points haven`t been about the best man out the since they had the juries decide the points. Dartboard indeed.
There was a time when people said you can't make Baseball a game of statistics...those guys were hella wrong.
sorry but milner created all of man city's best chances. i'd have given silva a bp though
Good post. I've added some paragraphs to make it a little easier on the eye. Some really good points. There is a case perhaps for upping the bps for the kind of attributes Silva and other playmakers excel in.
I've always preferred the man in the stands approach, despite the reliance on one man's opinion which could be frustrating at times.
I think the current BPS is the best statistical approach they've achieved so far but I'd still welcome back the system from 4(?) years ago with open arms. I assume that's not a realistic scenario though.was half asleep when replying first time, so will try and give a better response now.
yaya toure provided the decisive bit of quality in the match, it was a goal out of nothing. he did out of nothing what aguero, dzeko and silva himself couldn't manage with helping hands and find the back of the net.
meanwhile milner created the 2 or 3 chances which should have been the decisive moments in the match. i actually think the stats were useful here as they have no bias. they recorded milner's 8 key passes and didn't ignore them whilst simultaneously making a meal over and druel over silva instead simply because one is david silva and the other is james milner.
i'd have given milner & yaya 3, silva 1. so nodoby would have argued isnt quite accurate.
i'm just going by the commentators here but their calls for silva being MOTM were similar to yours. i saw it as like when valencia assited 3 rooney headers in a week and suddenly a partnership was lorded (and still is) despite not exisiting before and since. or like when rooney was scoring loads of goals against hull, burnley and portsmouth just before the PFA player of the year voting started in 2010 meaning he took the award over drogba despite scoring less, assisting less, chelsea winning the league, drogba scoring better goals and scoring in bigger games. my point here is timing. silva had a great little 5 minute spell around the 75min mark when suddenly the commentators thought we should probably think of a MOTM here. david silva should never ever be MOTM in a game which is 0-0 given what his role in the team is. unless a load of sitters were missed from his through-balls, milner was the main victim here though, most notably aguero hitting the post when he had to score.Completely agree.
Excellent post. I agree fully.
The man in the stands approach is very prone to unconcious bias.
Simply, you are in the wrong game.
If wanted an all round performance pontuation then
Fantrax will suit you. Draft League to play against 10 or 12 friends. Try it.
Silva was, statistically and without considering goals scores, assists and CS, their best man with 8.66pts.
1st - Milner 11.49 (1 assist, 8 chances created, 4 accurate crosses, 1 big chance created)
2nd - Yaya 10.58 (1 goal)
3rd - Mangala 10.54 (CS)
4th - Kompany 10.21 (CS)
5th - Aguero 9.12 (1 goal)
6th - Hart 8.9 (CS)
The difference, as you stat, its not to much between 1st and 7th…
So the reality its that stats do count in Football.
Its all that matters.Football may not be a game of statistics, but fantasy football very much is.
awesome
Whats best?

Aguero costa welbzThanks @TorresMagic.
Looking at a new Welbz owner. Thinking of © against Hull.He has to make it there first 😉
even after Hull kept a clean sheet today with 3 at the back. I reckon they will stick to that formation and therefore tighten up. They only shipped goals when they went back to a back four
looked like chester played right back in a back 4 this week
😯
maybe Bruce will realise he shouldn't bench him!
kompany or baines?
Baines
Duff or PVA or Naylor -> Baines?
duff
I continue to be proven serially right. But keep laughing, yous.
lol
Perfect
If, and it is still a big if, Pelle and Welbeck are both good long term options, then is team value all but useless? So different than in years past when most managers' forward lines would average over 10m per player, so there are always hard choices to be made for the rest of the team. If these mid-range strikers deliver like premium forwards, that is an extra ~6m that can be invested in the rest of the team. Building the rest of the squad is so much less of a challenge in terms of budget.
Pelle won't continue to produce the goods.
Keeping up the Pellè hate, i see.
Yes, it's a full on smear campaign. Totally personal. Nothing to do with what I think of him as a player. I'm out for blood.
That`s not what i meant at all. But youre firmly criticizing a player with extremely good stats AND the goods to back it up. But i guess you want to be -that- guy who told everyone off before he hits a slump, which he ofcourse will.
He's just not composed enough in front of goal. And keep in mind Crom said "continues to produce as a premium forward" which obviously won't happen. Many are getting sucked into this idea. It will end in tears.
Well, if that`s where you wanna go. I haven`t seem more than two full `Soton games this year, but if a striker keeps getting into dangerous positions in and around the box and puts some of them away, then that`s all i want for my 7 odd million striker. Few strikers are composed in front of goal that actually get into dangerous positions regularly, which imo is the most important skill for a striker. He can learn composion in training. Positioning is much more instinct.
I'm not saying he'll blank most weeks or anything like that. It's that some are going with Pelle and Welbeck or one of the two and a cheaper option. That is not a viable strategy.
I like how you hold the answers to the winning formula in this game. I guess this season is all about beeing runner-up since you`ve got it on lockdown.
Let me guess you have two cheap strikers. 🙄
If you`re too lazy to check on my team, then that`s on you. That`s got nothing to do with the initial discussion, which was whether or not Pellè would keep up the goods. As per usuals, americans wander from the point when the arguments thin out.
lol no as I said he won't continue to produce the goods
The fact that you have to bring up his price in your reasoning for picking him says it all really. You`re an idiot.
Your superior European intellect really coming to the fore now.
You`re calling out saying that Pellè won`t keep up the goods and youre arguments are moo. A quick look at his stats are extremely close to Costa and Aguero, the two best strikers in the league. You have no concept of quality if you can`t see it in Pellè. I guess it`s all just luck having performed this well on a team so beneath City/Chelsea. Stubborn americans, always think you`re right and present your opinions as answers.
You're comparing Pelle to Aguero in an effort to refute me?
Statswise, they match.
Just ignoring the massive difference in quality then eh.
Not at all. Aguero is absolute world class, and that`s a term i don`t throw about lightly. Pellè is not even close. I was only comparing his performance thus far, stat wise. I don`t think he`s overperforming, i think he`s just good.
We shall see.
i have naismith and ulloa and want to get wellebck today is that good move?
What FPL pedigree do you have that allows you to determine what is a viable strategy or not? 😀
I'll finish above you. That should be sufficient, for you anyway.
😆 please.
Upcoming fixtures are promising, though.
My point is that IF they continue to produce the goods, then pursuing team value will be a fool's errand.
Add Cisse to that list also if he can stay fit
seen a few WC teams and all have ditched United players. Surely there are attacking returns to be had from them?
It's too random where the points will come from is why I got rid
I dont see the need for a united player
Is everyone convinced that Welbeck will rise tonight?
Worth pulling the trigger on Ade-Welbeck now?
(Old team-value building habits die hard)yes wellbeck will rise 100% tonight
Moore to Baines and Mannone to Forster for free?
Assessing the midfield (4 slots)
Sterling/Siggy - are about as essential as it gets. Form+Fixtures in favour, and most have a rock bottom entry price on these players, so they have to be kept barring injury.
Alexis - I think he will be essential in a few weeks time. Started his arsenal career with 5 goals in 11 (some off the bench) and with Ozil starting to click can see Arsenal dominating the kind of run of oppenents.
The final position I cannot decide whether it should go to:
Cesc - mr. consistency but some doubts over his playing position and the Oscar effect. high ownership means not owning him is a problem.
Chadli - he has scored too many times for it to be a fluke. his stats are great, fixtures are turning up and his price would facilitate an upgrade elsewhere (e.g. Ivanovic instead of Duff). Bit wary as well as his price is climbing so have to act reasonably fast.
Tadic - great stats, great fixtures, form team, on pens; but inextricably not converting into points - is this guy the new modric or something?
ADM - cant really afford him anyway, and even if i could, i'd rather have Hazard or Toure.
So who gets the final slot?I disagree with most of this post. Sterling isn`t essential at all. Poor form and plays for a struggling Liverpool side. Alexis essential status when Walcott is on the verge of returning? Not so much.
Chadli plays 90 minutes too seldom to ever be "essential" as long as this continues. Tadic is an exciting prospect, but with only 3 assists in 7 games he is more of a sleeper than anything. ADM could be essential, but i`m still not sure if he`s consistent enough. And Tourè? Are you serious? How many City games have you been watching this season mate?Im currently on ADM cos was getting burned in my mini league for not having him over the last couple of weeks. Will be interesting to see if United continue to be an out and out goal scoring unit now that theyre facing stiffer opposition.
I have Fabregas-Tadic and Downing 5th mid. Will consider Chadli in gw9
For both Sanchez and Fabregas, you can argue that Welbeck and Costa are the better FPL options at their respective teams. So neither Sanchez nor Fabregas should be seen as essential (though still good options, of course). We might even be saying the same with Sterling & Sturridge in a little while.
I agree bout silva, brought him in for rambo n he looked awesome against my villa. Sad he got no Bps but Il hang on to him I tink. Either dat or sell him to get kun on.
is Henderson to be taken now for those WC or that 6.0 price bracket is only for Sigur & Chadli and ipossibly tadic if one has the extra 1.5?
