As we brace ourselves for the second international break of the season, our Sunday members regular delves into the Gameweek 7 data. United’s record signing, City’s in-form frontman and Swansea’s resurgent striker are amongst this evening’s topics, as we also analyse the recent displays of a number of favourably priced midfielders across the last few Gameweeks.
I would do A
I did B earlier today
Who are some defenders who have some easy fixtures coming up?
Check the ticker.
Liverpool Southampton Everton is a good startThis
Need to switch to a 4.2 max def to get Aguero...Wisdom or Hutton?
Hutton, just.
At that level its all about which one can rotate best with your other defenders to cover their bad fixtures, rather than about who is better head-to-head
Good point, I'll check the rotations, cheers.
not a fan of hutton for now, next 6 TOT and SOT and 4 away fixtures
Villa best in Away games, FYI...
Hutton
Ryan, did you do Pelle--->Welbeck
Why drop Pelle? Is ADM worth a -4 and losing one of Silva/Fabregas? Or even a WC?
IMO, yes. Not the WC though.
Thanks for the reply. After looking into it the only way to do it on a (reasonable, i.e. not ruining another position) -4 transfer is to drop Fabregas, and I'm not sure I want to do that. Perhaps after Di Maria has played Chelsea and City.
Silva is great passer, but not great FPL player. Lose him for ADM, even with ManU fixtures getting tougher.
Silva > Di Maria would mean a WC however, which could be a bit of a waste of a WC.
silva>adm if you have aguero maybe
I do have Aguero, the only problem being Silva > ADM would most likely mean a WC, which is not something I'm hugely fond of.
don't do it then
Thanks for the advice.
How did my rank drop!?
Now back down to 800k 😕31 wasn't great for Sunday.
Well, I had Di Maria, Costa and coupla 2 pointers...pretty solid.
How'd you go?40 today.
Hazard, Costa(c) and ADM mainly.
Wow. So I didn't realize that Downing was such a BP magnet. Do you realize he is only second to Gerrard for BPs from the midfield? (And tied for second overall?) Ok. Now he's in to my team...
The problem with Downing is who do I fit him in for?
Got ADM, Sterling, Fab and Siggy. These are all season keepers bar injuries IMO.i've got the same midfield and going to do mirallas to downing. he's a great 5th option plus Sigy can be benched against the top teams away. Also, you can play 5 mids sometimes depending on your strikers.
exactly. i benched tadic this gw and downing got 8 points vs his 1. Siggy will be benched away at stoke next round too. Perfect rotation. What's not to like? The man is involved in everything WHM do in attack.
SHHH ... don't tell everyone
Oops. My bad. Let me try again. Wow. Look at Christen Eriksen! He's tied for the 4th most BPs for mids!
which one to get rid?
need money for ADM.
A. Moreno -> Alderweireld
B. PvA/Naylor -> Moore
C. Aguero -> Welbeck
D. Pelle -> Welbeck
thanksB
depends on the rest of your team?
pool aren't keeping CS so you should look to lose Moreno (i'm doing the same) but not for Toby A
chambers after next GW perhapstoby has 3 home games for next 4
i have chambers
not c
Much as taking pelle out would be hard, d is the only move that does not weaken your team
Who is Naylor? This player doesn't exist in the prem
Taylor Swansea
Will have such a template attack next week:
Sigurdsson Sterling Di Maria Fabregas
Welbeck Pelle CostaYep. Looks just like mine. The back is going to make all the difference. In fact, that might be the story of the rest of the season: GKs and DEFs as the differentials.
Think Silva and Aguero will make or break my week!
Very true. Got Baines, Clyne and 3M ITB so I shouldn't do too bad there.
exact Mid. have costa and aguero up top. not sure if i want pelle or welbeck for next gw. went with ulloa this week and fail
Anyone fancy a bit of surgery?
I want to get ADM in but I know its going to hurt.
My team as it stands:
Forster / McCarthy
Ivanovic / Clyne / Williams / Chester / Duff
Fabregas / Chadli / Sigurdsson / Sterling / Jedinak
Aguero / Costa / Ulloa
1FT 0.3m in the bank, no wildcard.
I feel like the obvious move is to strip funds from the attack or defence (i.e. downgrading Aguero or Ivanovic) but they've both been performing pretty well.
Any suggestions?I think it would do more harm than good to your team as a whole trying to crowbar ADM in.
I'm thinking the same. Would love to move on Chadli or Sterling but can't manage it without weakening the rest of the team.
Keep the team. Just get rid of Ulloa for Naismith if you can.
I was thinking Ulloa > Cisse if I stick. Naismith has good fixtures though.
Can't see it being done in less than 2 moves unless you sacrifice Kun, which would be a very tough call. Better off without unless Kun injures himself, which would give you an excuse to free up funds for ADM. (I chose ADM instead of Kun a couple weeks ago, and don't regret it.)
Good point. I think Kun is the obvious fall-guy because there's cheaper options for his output, but he's pretty reliable.
What to do with 1FT // 0.7 ITB?
Courtois
Clyne PVA Coloccini
ADM Silva Sterling Siggy Chadli
Aguero (vc) Costa (c)
Gilks Vaz Te Moore Wisdom
A) Save FT
B) Silva and Vaz Te > Downing and Welbeck (-4)
B) Leaves me with 1.2 ITB for any potential future transfer - besides Baines. (Coloccini > Chambers for GW9)A
i rather SAVE ft mate. go for A
A for starters then see how things are after the internationals.
A. Who is the best budget midfielder (Under 5.1)?
B. Beside Chamber, Who is the best budget defender (Under 4.6)?boyd
naylor/wilson/moore/duff/wisdorm/huttonAgree with Loco
Can Boyd score? Or just the price (4.4) reason?
the price, but think boyd is a winger also
2 goals 2 assists last season but woudn't expect much
yup, good point for bench warmer at Hull
Any value in the Everton team? (not sold on Baines - until they can defend).
Lukaku and McGeady maybe
naismith
Baines is like a midfielder tbh, clean sheets are bonus
Think Everton will start to deliver CS now that fixtures are better ... but they still need to get healthy. Oviedo coming back - hopefully with Coleman soon to follow - will tidy up the back.
I see Baines as another midfielder. And what 7.0 midfielder who scores penalties and freekicks, and has 3 assists in 7 along with 12-15 extra 4 pointers isn't worth their weight in gold? He's always among the bps too due to his high involvement too. I'm bringing him in asap.
Sold. 😆
Also, how important is Fabregas to own? ML rivals have him, but I don't.
I don't have him either. Have a big couch at home though.
All depends on how well he does. I have Hazard so good week but it mainly depends on your differential or if you want to close Fabregas from the rest.
Fabregas will consistently deliver an assist or so per week, but not double digit game returns. I have him and plan to keep him all year, but others - such as ADM - will probably be more exciting.
I think he'll get a big haul soon. Against Palace and QPR in the next 3 i can see him playing further forward, and he's always a threat on set pieces too. I think 9.0 is a good price for someone as consistent as he is.
Should I get rid of Moses for Downing?
Moses seems to get a lot of knocks.
Thanks.no imo good punt moses
Yes. Think Downing is similar to Siggy with new WHU team.
Yep. Once Noble comes back Downing will play in the center again.
Who do you think I should transfer out?
A. Moses
B. Chadli
Chadli looks pretty consistent.
Is there anything more annoying in fpl than a missed penalty for one of your differentials?
YC's.
this.
i've probably lost about 15 points this season on YC's already. I lost a h2h match by 1 point against a top-of-the-table rival because sterling took a silly 87th minute YC, so annoying
Just playing on the transfers page and realised that I could afford the following team after a few transfers in a few weeks.
Mannone - Hamer
Chambers - Duff - Hutton - Moore - Wisdom
Walcott - Fabregas - Sterling - Sigurdsson - Marney
Aguero - Falcao - Costa
Worth it at the expense of a cheap defense? Got the best attacking options from City,United,Liverpool,Arsenal and Chelsea.
Might as well WC to get this in a few weeks when Walcott is back.
Thoughts?Shocking defence, not a fan of it
Not as bad as you think.
Almost guaranteed 2 good fixtures every week for that lot.If your forwards don't perform , you have no back up from defence. Get Baines in there at least and downgrade one mid
I'm not doing it now.
Just a thought about my potential WC team.
As far as that defense is concerned, I'd probably back 1 CS every week from them if not more.
Chambers has very good fixtures. Widom and Hutton rotate home and away. Duff has been solid defensively(will only improve when Marney and Jones are back). And Moore is a decent fodder.manone fixtures are very tough.
Could be any other 4.5m gk. He's just there as a place holder.
That is the problem I see in this format. Too many place holders.
Lots of options to choose from though.
Guzan,Heaton,Foster,Kasper,Mannone. Would go with the one having the best fixtures till the Jan WC.
I prefer one or two more quality defenders, but the lack of CS this year may mean you are on to something. Definitely would be different, but if we end up with lots of 0-0 games over the winter, you are in trouble.
CS usually become more prevalent after January. So this could work untill then and then reshuffle the pack with the Jan WC.
not bad, maybe adm and welbeck instead of wally/falcao and more money to defence
That's the template and I don't wanna go there.
Moreover I'd want Walcott when he's back.
mannone is my keeper and his next 6 fixtures are very tough i was planning same w, 4.0 non playing humer (who played only 1 game CS).
u still going for vito over guzan, schmeichel, and foster? Not finalised anything. Could be any 4.5m gk.
Di Maria Welbeck over Walcott Falcao and upgrade defense.
Template I know but it is for a reason.Template and boring. 🙁
Would rather have ADM over Falcao. Maybe 3-5-2?
Not a fan personally. Never seems to work apart from that 'power 5' phase a couple of seasons ago.
You have £5.4m to spend, where do you put it?
Begovic Krul
Clyne Lovren Chambers Taylor Wisdom
Siggy Tadic Fabregas Sterling Downing
Costa Pelle Welbeck
Some of my ideas are a combination of the following, but I welcome any ideas (note - 0FT this week)
Lovren>Baines
Tadic>Walcott
Taylor>Ivanovic
Pelle>SturridgeWelbeck>Kun
🙂
first
If Sturridge is as healthy as they say after Int't duties i'd get him based on fixtures. QPR, Hull, Newcastle, Chelsea, Palace, Stock, Leic, Sunderland ... only Chelsea will be tough.
Thats true, I've considered that, but for now im happy with Pelle and will probably stick with him until gw13.
I've only had 7/21 CS's though, and no attacking points from defenders apart from Clyne, so I feel like that is the area I can most improve in the short-term. Its what has differentiated teams so far this season imo, as most people have the template front-8.
I also expect someone like Benteke to become a great target around GW13 when Pelle's fixtures nosedive.
On red
GK : on WC, thinking on going for Schmeichel over guzan, foster, and manone as his fixtures seem quite favorable. Sub will be 4.0/
1. yes
2. noDepends on team. Leicester will rarely keep CS.
atm WC def is:
Aspi - Wilson - Pva/orRobertson - chambers - wisomGet a better GK.
2. Guzan. Other than Everton and Spurs, he has good fixtures and a very good defense. Will be even better when Vlaar comes back.
no to chmeichel because he has no CS so far? hes got like 22 saves. his bench Humer got the cs. li fixtures are so very tempting.
So, I'm pretty certain I'm getting in a Spurs mid soon (GW9). Is Chadli worth it over Eriksen? Haven't watched Spurs too much but find it hard to pull off moves like picking Chadli over Eriksen or for that matter Henderson over Sterling. Keep thinking Chadli is a flash in the pan like Dyer for Swansea whom a few in my mini league opted for over Siggy after he'd scored in a couple of matches.
chadli good value, eriksen will outscore him however
82 people bought Walcott today
he's back next week?
To training yes, most likely to start from bench
When Walcott came back last year, he made a huge instant impact. People must think history will repeat.
I agree but buying a 9m midfielder who is not fit during international breaks is such a casual move.
Which one would you sell out of these?
Duff, Moore, Ferdinand or Chester?Rio
Rio
Rio
rio no doubt
Ferd
Guess that's conclusive. Cheers.
Rio, but you should be looking at shipping out Moore soon as well.
4.0 defender starting is rare
What to do with this lot?
DDG/Gilks
Chester/Cahill/Duff/Dummet/Clyne
ADM/Siggy/Sterling/Downing/Marney
Costa/Pelle/Aguero
Thinking of doing Cahill to Baines. Thoughts??
Thanks 😀If you got the cash, get Baines think he will be value over next month or two.
I wouldn't get rid of a defender who's just posted 3 CS's in a row including CL. Chelsea is starting to become the defensively solid machine now again.
Dummett or Duff should be your priorities. Two Burnley players on your bench is a bit much imomaybe save
Silva Fab Siggy Sterling
Aguero Pelle Costa
Silva or Fab -> ADM ?Template vs keeping Silva.
City will be score lots soon.so Fab -> ADM ?
Silva to ADM. Silva great player, but not for FPL points.
Why to remove silva? He looked amazing last few games
need ADM
Adm has tough fixtures coming up. Keep silva
That's my attack precisely. Out of all of them Silva, but i'm tempted to do nothing and leave ADM out.
Is Ulloa going to drop?
Not for a while.
http://www.fplstatistics.co.uknope
Have costa and Aguero up top
Ulloa to:
A)Welbeck
B)Naismith
C)Pelle
D)keep ulloaa
D at least for next 2 weeks
Rose --> Hutton to make funds for Moreno --> Baines for the following week?
yes
i would
yes
Morning everyone. Save FT or go ahead with Fab to ADM?
Save
Save.
Lol, he's gotten to you too! I'm still clinging onto my assertions that he is a red herring! 🙂
Btw: STEWART DOWNING...... 😉 😉 😉
😀
Morning DZ,
Any idea who's going to rise/fall today?
Where do we follow price changes these days...
Thx!ADM and Clyne up I believe.
9 years, 8 months ago
Repost:
Begovic, McCarthy
Bertrand, Chambers, Naylor, Duff, Moore
Hazard, Sterling, Sigurdsson, Chadli, Boyd
Aguero, Costa, Pelle
2 FT, 3.1 ITB
Which one looks best?
A) Duff > Baines
B) Naylor Baines
C) Pelle > bench fodder, Boyd > ADM
