After the best Gameweek tally in living memory, I reserve the right for a bit of a gloat. Having risked the Wildcard back in Gameweek 7, the stars aligned and everything fell into place last weekend, leaving my ScoutCast co-host, grumpy Granville, grabbing at straws and smashing TV sets in frustration.

After last season’s defeat, I revel in my moment of glory but still find time to lock horns with Granville over the great Costa debate. Is Jose playing with our minds? I certainly think so but, as Granville points out, I reckon the Lunar landings were fake. I love a good conspiracy, me.

    SO, in the Telegraph game I'm planning to conserve as many transfers as possible for the second half of the season.

    I need a longer term striker solution until January, I currently have ULLOA and was planning to let him stay until January since he is so cheap and decent fixtures. However I am now considering selling as he has been absent from the last 3 games and not offered any returns, while Pelle/Berahino/Chadli all seem to be promising more.

    Do I:

    A) Sell for Pelle (fixtures quickly toughen)
    B) Sell for Chadli (can he stay fit/in starting 11?)
    C) Keep and save precious transfer
    D) Sell for Sakho
    E) Berahino

    Currently have 24 transfers and want to make it to January with at least 20, every transfer is crucial!

    Way I've come to see the confusing Costa situation.

    Swap Aguero for Costa and captain Aguero, weekly (scored 50% of City's goals this season).

    To balance the loss of Costa goals, get in Hazard to go alongside Fabregas (who've collectively contributed to over half of all of Chlesea's goals this season [12/23].

    Fab + Haz most likely to assist Costa or pinch the goals off him. And when you think about it, an assist is 3 points vs 4points for a striker's goal. Not much in it.

    In a nutshell, instead of worrying whether Costa's scoring or Aguero. Just have Aguero. & counterbalance Costa's impact with not just Fabregas but Hazard too.

      Yeah you don't want a top striker who has scored nine who you can also captain.

      That's too much of a headache in fantasy football.

        I dont think he will continue scoring at that rate. I dont like the whole will he/wont he thing, which i think will end up being all season long. And I also think that Mourinho wont want 1 player scoring all his goals, fully expect players like Hazard to start chipping in soon.

          I don't think Mourinho will care who scores the goals.

          And as it stands they are fairly distributed.

          He's a standout captain option vs QPR. Will you be glad to not own him then?

    Wow! The Bookies certaintly think Aguero will bag a few , with Kuun to score anytime @ 1.73 !
    An aguero hatrick is a poor price to @ 5.90 !

    I'm having a bit of a conundrum right now and my head is spinning. I'm sure that i want to do Costa to Aguero but really don't know how to. The options that i have are:

    Getting rid of Welbeck(which i won't do since he has some juicy fixtures and i'm sure he can score a double this weekend).

    Getting rid of ADM(don't want to do that either because right now he's worth 9.9M to me and i'd have to sell Welbeck to get him back)

    Getting rid of Sterling for someone like Barkley(this is the move i'd be more inclined to go through with but i'm afraid he'll play as a false 9 and score two goals against Hull who conceded two goals pretty much against everybody in the last few games).

    Don't do anything until saturday/sunday, suffer another 0.1 fall in price tonight and take the risk of playing without Costa and without ADM or with ADM delivering 2 points against Chelsea and see who performs worst between Welbeck, and Sterling.

    Thoughts?

    Think Costa > Pelle tonight for me isn't too much of a risk. Worst case he plays and I don't have him this week (unlikely he bangs in a hattrick), then I get him back for QPR easily with no hit, and probably don't even need to use my 2nd FT.

        Go on lads. The two ft and Pelle option get Costa back for no hit is a no brainer to me. When hits come into it when going back I think it could render the whole move pointless.

    Hi all. Just thinking, and I may be wrong, but it seems likes Hazards form correlates somewhat to Costa's absence. Having a proper striker seems to while him a bit. As such, I think, for the most part, he'll shine brighter when Costa is not in the side.

      Many agree. It's the idea that Costa's presence means Hazard won't cut into the box and into the striker's space, which is where Hazard excels as an FPL prospect. No Costa, good times for Hazard.

      Hazard is just very streaky, and Fab has stolen some of the spotlight. Agree that with Costa out, Haz will start to shine. Considering picking him up for the QPR game

      I fance A more, to strengthen defence. But I would hold on to Costa, a few weeks ago he was 'essential', and will soon be again.

    Costa owners shouldn't you at least wait till tomorrow to sell..see if you can get any info from the press conference, If the bug was the main thing he has two days to train..Don't forget he doesnt train anyway according to Jose (master of mind games and playing a big rival)
