Today, we bring you the draw for the First Round of the Fantasy Football Scout Cup X, as sponsored by Paddy Power, after the qualifying rounds for the competition took place over Gameweek 13 at the weekend.
First of all, entrants with a score of 44 points or more have earned a spot in the First Round of the Fantasy Football Scout Cup X. If you scored 44 points, it was then down to overall rank to decide whether you progressed. As usual, then, the standard was very high – just ask Mark – he’s been knocked out in qualifying with 41 points.
While Mark fell at the first hurdle, Granville’s lineup progressed and he’ll face juramentardo in the opening round, which takes place this weekend. Mark does, however, live on through his combination ScoutCast team with Granville – that lineup made it through with an impressive 62 points and will face off against Clueless XI in this round – a suitable opponent.
Our reigning champion, Gribude is, of course, one of the former winners who earns a bye to the first round and he’ll face deporhostia in the opening round as he bids to become our first to successfully defend their crown. Others taking on former cup champions include confundido who takes on some chap called Jonty, while AmberGamer who faces ex-champ donnellyC.
There are no less than 14 top 100 managers in draw, including the current FPL world number one rayvas – definitely a name to avoid should he make it past pkilleen in this first round.
Other eye-catching encounters are Laurel Hill‘s tough tie against Fantasy Football Scout moderators and contributors league leader Tinkerman, who is currently 270th overall, our moderator Greenwindmill’s battle against Canary Wharf, and Cobblersnz’s match up with our team news man Demi.
There are also some notable match ups between well known community members with Sporting facing Davysteen and 4Vets against 1966 was a great year…
Good luck to those involved in the weekend’s action but for those that missed out this time, there is some good news as we aim to run another Cup competition from March next year.
